      People with such low IQs can't really find anything productive to do. They can't work most jobs. IQ can't be increased in any way, at least that we know of. So it's pretty much set in stone. It's a big problem and we don't really know what to do about it.

  • @bubkasaurus
    @bubkasaurus 2 года назад +4

    The unfortunate outcome of having a low IQ in a meritocracy is that those people will struggle if put in positions to fail. That’s the worst thing that can happen. It’s about expectations - theirs and those of society.
    Dignity and compassion are a must. We are obligated to help the helpless - we are under no such obligation to help the clueless. It’s important to distinguish between the two.
    And often that’s where we all fail.

    One thing I can say about intelligence: The most studious person in my family with a master's degree expends her money before she even earns it. She is never happy and is a nervous wreck.
    The other one with a masters and much higher intelligence is unhappy and needs to buy everything he wants.
    The one that has average intelligence is wealthy to the core. He achieve everything by persevering and barely made it in college. He has a 4 years degree. Is and has been a Vice President and the a president and CEO of a couple of huge companies.
    Still, he seems somewhat unhappy. I, who has add, and other stuff has make it alright and I am very, very happy. Because of a disability I have, I decided not to pass my genes.
    I actually enjoy life and am greatful to God for all his love and protection for me and my household.
    Perseverance is a whole lot better and more efficient than just relying on intelligence.

      I think you should watch his lectures on IQ. It's an unfortunate reality that people with an IQ of 84 and below are gonna have a really tough time through life. The American military complex has made it illegal to hire anyone below an IQ of 85. This is the same institution that wants to get as many people as possible. In peaceful time, people in the army can get the benefit of climbing the social economic ladder and in war time, well that should be quite obvious, you'd want anyone you can get. I've heard the argument that beautiful people (like actors, actresses, singers, influencers, etc.) have it easier just because they are beautiful. I think this argument can be two-sided. Smart people have it easier in plenty of subjects, but maybe not in fashion and trendy lines of work. Athletes have it easy in their field, after a bit more work into their skills, of course. Extroverts are great in sales, generally. The randomness in our very unfair traits is what ultimately balances the overall fairness of being unique.

      Today there is more competition for everything. More countries are modernizing. More people are becoming athletes. Even MMA didn't exist in the 1950s like baseball did. Women can show their beauty on only fans and ticktok. Anyone can compete for attention these days because of technology. However, IQ still matters because IQ creates the tools and vehicles for humanity to progress.

    It is often forgotten that society also need low IQ workers. As I walked through the empty roads during the recent pandemic, I saw a lot of food delivery drivers rushing through traffic to get the food to the markets. One with high IQ would be unlikely to do such a job. They would get bored with the lack of intellectual challenge. Yet those who can do those mundane tasks, and be happy with that, can be the difference between a society as a whole surviving or not. The farmer meme "It aint much, but its honest work" comes to mind. We need low IQ people as well, as well as the high IQ people organizing the society.

    As far as the working place is concerned meritocracy is nonexistent, It's all about social hierarchy which is even worse! There are people in my workplace who have incredible skills, a veteran service time, trust and confidence in their peers, great experience and Leadership who are intelligent who want and try to move up in their careers (in their passion) but their applications are constantly rejected because management are just friends with their friends or just have bias preferences. The last on their minds when looking for someone for a management role is meritocratic skills relevant to the job.

Even if everyone is better at you than everything, there's an infinite nber of things to do and only a finite number of people doing them. Maybe a surgeon could make a better carpenter than the guy you usually higher, but he makes a much better surgeon comparatively so it's a waste of time. But if we change a meritocracy society for another type it will be almost impossible. We accept as society that we have to support and make efforts so that mentally disabled people can have a happy life. We label their condition and make a safe environment for them. Changing meritocracy will required that, in a big spectrum. So 90% of humans can accept they are mentally challenged in the eyes of the remaining 10%. That's the truth, but the truth is always rejected, it cause tremendous pain and cannot be easily accepted. We could implement as a society measures to make life and the World more equal to everyone, independently of their IQ. I also recognise that high IQ individuals have the possibility of an easier life, so they need don't need so much protection as normal humans.

But statistically speaking, those differences could have a huge impact in your life. Btw, Ashkenazi Jews have in average a higher IQ.

      @tubejuanso 2 года назад

      @@alexdraco9926meritocracy is unfair cuz most humans have an average iq or even lower. That's a fact. Statistically speaking the higher the iq the easier life gets. We protect mentally challenged people because we're aware of this huge difference. But what about the 90% of humans that have less iq points than the remaining 10%? Those "normal" humans are not mentally challenged in the eyes of the remaining 10%? Of course they are, but the 10% can be polite enough to not pointed out. If we want to change a meritocratic society we cannot go for a full equalitarian society, that simply doesn't exist. We need to go for another type of meritocracy, that will protect 90% of humans and not just 5% as it currently does in the civilized World. When you are tremendously smart life is really simple, boring and easy for you. Our genetics make others life's unfair. We shouldn't try to avoid having more genius people around, but we cannot force the rest to level up with this 10%. It will be a natural process that hopefully will take just a few hundred years, but again you'll probably have a gap between the "normal" genius and the great genius. Human nature will keep producing differences that eventually will be accepted, with measures to protect the less gifted, or artificially equal through human intervention or technology, of any kind.
