You may offend some, but you are spot on here. I feel like social media has allowed the few stupid people in any given area to congregate and find each other despite distance and then create spaces where their false or ignorant beliefs are never challenged and instead reaffirmed. This this results in a group not being able to identify facts from opinions or just openly embrace opinion as fact. This results in the landscape we find ourselves in today. The dangerous part is these groups can grow like cancer and then start to have real influence in things that matter despite having a tenuous grasp on reality.

I think a great point, in the same vein as the differentiation between fact and opinion, is being able to differentiate between something one learned or heard, and what the are adding on top of it. Basically being able to tell where established knowledge or external opinion stops and your own input or interpretation begins. In writing pretty much any type of essay this is very important, and I find it translates very well to conversation.

I mostly agree with your list, I only have a few comments:
Regarding the second point, of not changing your mind when presented with new information, I would disagree, or maybe present a different perspective of tolerance. I don't mind people not changing their mind when it comes to some of their beliefs, whatever the "truth" or new information exists. If you believe the sky is actually an upside down ocean, I don't mind, as long as:
    1. You don't try to impose your opinion on others
    2. You don't hurt anyone with your belief
    3. You don't incite to violence against those that have a different view of things
In case you respect the 3 rules above, I will not have anything against you, even if I disagree.
The second thing I've noticed in your list, is that some of the points are a bit out of the range of just stupidity and enter another psychological area, of personality disorders, or behavioral sciences.
Also, some of the people that made the list, I wouldn't call stupid, as their behavior seems to be motivated by greed or lust for power. This is something imprinted in human behavior since even before homo sapiens. The idea is there is more depth to some of the situations and people you mentioned. Calling them just stupid is only barely scratching the surface.
And lastly, removing yourself from these people or the situations they create is very good advice, do it, if you can, but sometimes it's almost impossible to achieve. You might live with them, you might work with them, they might be your bosses, your colleagues, your family, they can be in your face all day, without leaving you many options to evade them.
In the end, congratulations for your work, I appreciate your videos, wish you all the best!

    * Incuriosity. I've met incurious intelligent people, I've never met a curious stupid person.
    * Defensiveness to well-meaning criticism. This trait won't immediately make you stupid, but the number of defensive stupid people greatly outnumbers the open-minded stupid people.
    * Volume-based thinking. When stupid people encounter difficulty, their VERY first instinct is to do the same thing, but more of it. Now, most of our problems stem from us not doing enough of something that should be obvious but the stupid person seems to think that just cranking up the quantity and activity without adjusting anything else will solve every problem.

    Since then discoveries have declined.
Demand has increased. Demand is now greater than discoveries.

Well it’s kinda hard to tell if someone is stupid based off being ridged in thinking . I’ve seen people hold to a foolish opinion to the end . I’ve also seen folks hold strong to their views and prove everyone wrong . What I think is stupid when you know you’re headed toward a brick wall and still hit it . When you refuse to save yourself knowing the consequences of your actions is stupid to me . I’ve seen this in intelligent people uneducated individuals so really that hits on most folks . I believe in using facts and experiences depending on the situation . I try to be factual and use wisdom , understanding . Now I do get frustrated with foolishness .

A few things: Good video. Quite enjoyable. I like your outfit. At least the shirt and coat. I'll have to assume you're wearing pants. I've heard from a self-preservation standpoint that there is a rule of stupid: Don't go stupid places with stupid people at stupid time and do stupid things. You might get away with one or two of them, but any more than that and you could be in real trouble

Number 1 is in my opinion the number 1 reason the US is experiencing so many issues. People have forgotten that their opinions are just that opinions. It’s not the gospel or absolute truth…. I mean even if you have “facts,” you can still be very wrong! Think about the Theory of Relativity, up until that point physicists thought that things behaved a certain way and there came Einstein and said, I don’t think so.
So much of what we consider “facts” are based on current experiences. If you remain opened, you’ll learn more and of course, you have to be able to mold your thinking as you gain experience and wisdom!

I have a similar identification system but it applies more to the field of entertainment and interests; I find people who follow the "Let people like what they like" philosophy, I find that if they can't even come up with an argument for an interest then they aren't worth talking to in serious discussions.

The 2-3 reasons don't even have to be something everyone agrees on, you give can even be subjective in your reasoning. Yeah I may not like it still but perhaps I'll learn something new about it and respect it more.

We only notice that after some bad choices or some big incident with big impact which shake us terribly to the core. Please reflect on our friends@acquantaince@"business partners"@relatives@anyone in our life from a neutral and intellectual point of view. Review their past actions and behavior not necessarily to you, even to other people. You can use Antonio videos or other similar videos in RUclips for your reference.Change your inner circle and your mindset on whom to allow in your life, pick the right ones..Do it smoothly but with great urgency

  • @sebastiaanstok
    @sebastiaanstok Год назад +2

Mouth breathing is actually really bad for your health, as snoring (which is caused by this) leads to sleep apnea which in turn leads to all kinds of other medical problems. Including hight blood pressure, obesity or diabetes (as your metabolism and hunger feelings gets messed-up, and this might actually be the cause of your snoring), lack of concentration, and a number of other things.
Not to mention that it dries out your mouth which makes the mucous membrane more dry and easy to crack, making you more vulnerability to viruses.
Not taking proper care of your health (to the best of your ability at least), in my opinion is also rather stupid.
