Steve this bowl is breathtakingly beautiful and stunning I love everything about it. I am glad you are happy in your new workshop may God bless you a thousand fold.
Man I want a frickin lazer I'd have so much fun with that. Super job Steve came out lovely 👍 and new work space looks fantastic I hope you have many happy years in it 🍀
Thanks Alan !! I'm luvvin the new shop, very happy with it... Go get yourself a laser and have some fun, they are cheaper than you think mate, head over to bangood.com and take a look at the A3 Pro 2500mW Laser Engraving Machine. Cheers for watching 😉
Thanks Joseph, the autographs are from a lot of well known makers that were at Makers Central last year, I will be getting more added in May 😀 Thanks for watching buddy, much appreciated.
Thanks Chris !! I am very happy with the results, and the laser gives me a huge scope of possibilities.... I appreciate your watching and commenting thank you !!
It's all your fault Steve! When you showed the laser on your live show, my fingers just moved by themselves and before I knew it my wallet was a few quid lighter. Just waiting for my A3 to arrive now. Love the shape of the bowl and the laser design sets it off a treat.
Absolutely stunning job there Steve, I love the shape of the bowl and the laser engraving is awesome. Great to see you back producing project videos too 🥳
That is very good I was thinking about a laser but not to sure about the computer bit of it and her indoors might not like the smell of burning in the living room
Hey Graham, go for it mate, if you can use a regular printer, you can use the lazer. And the smell can be extracted using a vacuum cleaner.... Thanks for watching and commenting !!
Nice to see you again great bowl Steve love your design, that spiral tool you have does the brass nut come undone when you use it as mine keeps doing so such a pain. Awesome new shop too 🍺🤘😎
Hey Chris, No mate never had an issue with the nut to be honest, but maybe add a little tipex liquid paper to the thread ? I have done that on other nuts n bolts that shake loose and it works a treat ..... Thanks for watching and commenting !!
Nice bowl mate, love the pyro machine it did a great job at embellishing the rim and center. looks like I’ve gotta get a better one myself now Cheers Rob
It's a very nice bowl and the laser embellishment makes it. Although I quite fancy doing some laser work I do have my reservations of where it leads to. Do you take the next step of a computer designing the bowl, robotic machines making the bowl before the computer decides to laser it and you never leave the log fire. Very glad you have a new shed but it does suggest, knowing our winters, it might get very cold. Thanks James
Hey James, nope no sitting at a fire for me, I love the making process, but to reduce the time of hours of pyro work for the same effect works for me... No computer will control my lathe its my baby 😂😂 I have a good heater, and intend to install a log burner also.... Thanks for watching, much appreciated.
Hey Steve, Really Nice Work!!! I've got a Laser Add-on for my CNC router still in the box. I have some tuning up to do on the CNC then I'll be ready to install and start the learning curve! Later, Murph
Awesome Murph, your going to love it, id love to have the spare funds for a CNC myself to be honest but that won't happen for a long time... Thanks for watching 😉
Hi Steve, I have only recently discovered your channel. I enjoy your watching your work. I have a couple of questions for you if you don’t mind answering them. As a wood turner of thirty years plus. There are two things in your video that I have never seen before. Firstly those plastic grids you use inside your tins of wax, what a great idea. Did you make them up yourself from a graded sheet or did you buy them as they are ?. Info would be appreciated. Secondly, the stage of using methylated spirit before sealing the wood. Does that actually make a difference ?. Keep up the good work Steve. All the very best, Ricky
great vid dude and good to see you subbing vids again, the Eleksmaker have you tried cutting shapes out of thin wood yet? for inset work im thinking, also have you tried burning the design multiple times without moving the workpiece to burn darker or thicker lines? , I guess the settings can be changed but would be good to know if a design is burned and then I prefer darker or thicker lines rather than skimming the design off and starting again, just wondering if the laser will track exactly the same aswel.
Howdy Mark, yes it has many setting you can play with on the software, it tracks over itself exactly and will cut through wood up to 3 mm thick by using multiple passes. You can also adjust the laser to do a messy burn which is thicker....... Thanks for watching and commenting, much appreciated mate.....
@@SteveTwoodturning thanks for the info mate ive been holding off for a while on getting something of the cnc variety, I keep changing my mind between laser or router, also wondering about something where you can use as a cnc router and also add a laser in place of the router when you want a burn instead of cut, I guess my indecisive self will probably end up getting both lol
Hey Mick, they are called product savers, they stop wood chips and crap getting in the product. And they reduce the amount used. I make them myself and they are available to buy in my website shop templeboyturnings.com Thanks for watching and commenting, regards, Steve.
i just bought a Laser Engraver from China, It will do curves around the edge of the bowl. I also added a rotary chuck so I am hoping i can do bracelets and rings. It is on one of my containers I import into USA . Where did you get the design from for the Mandela? I just bought Coreldraw and I am planning to use it to edit download patterns
Hey Paulo, I got in contact with the guy that gave me the logs, and he has confirmed that it is Irish Oak cut down from his property. It was felled and then left for a year laying in the field before he cut it up and gave me it.... The video doesn't really show its true colour ........ Thanks for watching and commenting, its very much appreciated !!
@@SteveTwoodturning do you realy need to ask if it is oak or not? and it is not the color but the grain,...I wish you the best,...but, that is not oak,...
Steve this bowl is breathtakingly beautiful and stunning I love everything about it. I am glad you are happy in your new workshop may God bless you a thousand fold.
