  • I bought a 2003 Kawasaki Ninja 500r for $360 and got it back on the street. Total cost was as follows:
    360 Bike
    212.37 Title,registration
    76.76 insurance for a year
    86.50 Brake/clutch lever, air filter, ignition coils, brake pads, carburetor rebuild kit
    120.80 Spark plug wrench, carb cleaner,battery
    13.63 Grease
    10.71 spark plugs
    12.79 Fuses, o-rings,magnet pan
    47.00 coolant, gloves, feeler gauge
    43.42 oil, oil filter
    21.66 plastic welder kit
    8.95 screwdriver
    12.03 hose, clamps, brake fluid
    35.22 speedo cable
    28.47 paint
    26.19 paint, sander
    24.64 air filter oil
    Problems:
    Carbs need rebuild
    Front fairing missing
    Upper fairing destroyed
    Front fork leaks
    Broken Coil
    Bad oil
    Bad coolant
    Bad air filter
    Old tires
    Old chain
    Windshield fogged
    Dry rot hoses
    Front rotor worn
    Needs brake pads
    Gas cap leak
    Sticky/reversed throttle
    Missing hoses
    Bent left handlebar
    Missing fuses
    Valve clearance
    Front brake wont work
    Clutch lever bent
    Evap system missing

    Got an 02 ninja I worked on for 2 years running now it’s a process but worth the struggle and learning experience good job man

    Where'd you order the parts from?

      Most parts can be found on ebay, but some of them are oem and others are extremely cheap Chinese parts so buyer beware. I ended up not using some parts i ordered like the carb rebuild kits that arent oem are basically trash for the most part.
