This and Aladdin were my first games on my PC. Somehow even the old prince of Persia was also there in that PC. I'm hit with the sudden realisation that my Dad used to play games too. But he never really talks about them.

I played this game when I was like 10 years old. It was really difficult, there were no tutorials or anything. It took me forever to figure that you can run up and down on those early levels and that you'd have to ride that last centaur to kill it.
I didn't start having problems until the episode where you had to ride on Pegasus in Mount Olympus to free all the gods. That was the only tough level because the Titans kept killing me

If I had my old PS1 back... I have too many games I really enjoy playing in a console and recently I found a copy of this one in a box of childhood stuff in a market. Looks that cool.
Just use an emulator and buy an xbox one controller and voila you're good to go. and the games are all free to download via google. Just search psx roms and you can play your old favourite game on your PC

When I was like 9 my dad used to take me and my sister to a pub for a meal on Sunday, they had a play area with a play station I played this so much I could finish the game before we left for home. This brings back such good memories

That Gauntlet run, though. Crazy how you had to sacrifice so much health to get all the coins. That’s some savage game design.
