I have a running theory that the more Jerod hits the cymbals, the more he likes the song. If this is true, he really likes this song.
I think your theory has gotten the effect, but not the cause. From what I can see Jerod really likes songs with half time breaks, which in general are more conducive to smaccing the cymbals.
The MV sells it for me. I’m a sucker for Studio Trigger’s artstyle and the animators absolutely nailed it.
There was only one animator for this. Kay yu did the animation and riguruma did the editing for the mv.
The guy who did the animation is the same guy who make the Holocure game. Let that one sink for a moment.

My favorite part of the MV is just the long sleeves on Gura, I'm not sure how she can pull the triggers but it just fits her so well.
She uses her guns for close quarter combat.... so pulling the trigger isn't really her problem here

the song was named "(Q)" because they wanted to name it "Queen" but it was already taken and then was suggested to be "Killer Queen" (totally not jojo reference) however it was also taken. so in order for it to be different they just had it as a bracketed 'Q'

If those were acoustic drums, imagine how many noise complaints would you've gotten by now?
1:12 - I have a feeling that he didn't notice this, but Calli said "shit" here and (I think) he just didn't realize it. If we're getting *_technical,_* he broke his rule of "family friendly only/no swearing" music.
Another example that proves my point is when he played the song "hedgehog stew", he (obviously) chose to play the clean version of it rather than the original (which, like this song, had a swear word in it {"damn", in the case of this song}).
My point here is, where does the line lay between "swear free" & "family friendly" music being accepted on stream? This (video/song) keeps things up in the air for interpretation of what could be suggested on stream but end up getting denied bc of it's contents that may or may not fall within these gray areas.
(P.S. ~ I will ask him about this when I get the chance to, but I just wanted to get this off my chest ahead of time as to sort out my thoughts.)
I prefer to have songs be family friendly. It is a guideline for suggestions so people don't toss me stuff with F bombs all over the place. Every now and then one will slip through but I can stop the song at any time. It is moreso a way to keep the songs 99% family friendly. I have kids that watch and I want them to have a uplifting and positive experience overall.

I'm relatively new to this and am very confused. How can you follow along so well to songs and sound so good doing it, if you haven't heard it before? What am I missing?
He's been playing for long enough (and been doing improv drumming on Twitch for long enough) that he's got a very good intuition for the way songs are structured, how they build to section transitions, and the multitude of beat patterns. Many, many hours spent drumming. XD
