    Love it. Reminds me of the Mahoning River in northeast Ohio where I'm from. It used to be insanely polluted back when Youngstown was still producing steel. Now I get them in pretty much every stretch and theres clearly natural reproduction. I love throwing cranks for them at night, especially at spillways when the water is high. Spring and fall is the only time of year you can do well in the daylight. Can be hit or miss, but 20 keepable fish in a couple hours is great. Unfortunately the rare times I keep any it's on nights I can barely get three

    Turtle Creek around Austin has produced action just like this!!! Everyone thinks there is only red horse suckers in there. Think again!

    The rivers of Southern Minnesota are amazing. Here in Iowa it's a good day if you catch 2. I'm hoping you can kick out some content soon.

      The lesueur isn't even flowing this year and all the fish headed down river at least 20 miles. Bare with me and the content will come back. I've been super busy with our newborn baby girl. I promise I'm not done yet bud there will be more content and thanks for watching! I appreciate it so much.

    No issues with getting sand and grit in your reel when you lay it down on the mud and silt along shore?

    • @mudlakeoutdoors1344
      @mudlakeoutdoors1344  2 года назад

      Yeah but I only have 50 bucks into the reels and I pull them apart and oil everything from time to time so I get a little careless when I'm excited.

    Love the video! Hard to beat fall walleye action. Mind if I ask you just a couple questions? I've never fished that river before, but I'd sure like to. I know the general area, I've fished the Blue Earth near Rapidan before and I'm only about an hour away. Not asking for your exact spots, but how do you know where you can legally access the water and walk along the bank? Also, do you fish it all year long, or only in the fall? Ever get any in the spring or summer? Thanks man!

    • @mudlakeoutdoors1344
      @mudlakeoutdoors1344  2 года назад +1

      I happen to be lucky enough to have access from a landowner. Some years they stay, all depends on the water bud.

      I'm not looking to give away my spots bud just invest a little time and you'll find them. Look for structure like eddys, sand bars, holes (anything deeper than your waist will hold good fish), rock piles or bars, down trees and confluences. Just work the bottom with a jig and twister and you too can have success in southern Minnesota! Good luck my friend and thanks for watching.

      It doesn't work like that bud, I worked long and hard to find every hole. I have faith in you, just go explore while the waters low and you'll find em.
