So jealous of everybody that has gotten into an early screening of this flick. I haven’t been this excited for a new film since Tarantino released a new movie.
I'm a huge fan of Coppolas tale on Dracula, which of course captures the spirit of the book through its stunning practical effects and set design. This film looks like both a tribute to of course the original Nosferatu and Coppola's Dracula. Eggers is a very talented filmmaker, so this film looks to be incredible.
This film definitely has elements of Coppola's film, but stands on its own. They compliment each other very well I'd say. Hope you enjoy it once you can see it!
@@jamesstewart8377- Christopher Lee wasn't known for changing his appearance with makeup effects though. Lon Chaney was 'the man of a thousand faces.'
Thank you for being here! Seeing the original on Halloween on the big screen sounds amazing. I wish I had that opportunity! Hope you dig it when you see the film!
It’s so good to know this movie made such an impact on you! I can’t wait to see it at one of my local theaters, and I had high hopes for it based on the trailer that accompanied the anniversary re-showing of Godzilla Minus One I attended. So hearing this much praise for it is very reassuring, especially after Renfield turned out so quirky and Last Voyage of the Demeter barely made a splash among the horror fans I know.
I am so sorry for your loss. I say to honor her, drag yourself to see it and celebrate her memory. I’ve done that with quite a few movies for friends and family who I’ve lost. Take care of yourself! ❤️
The Herzog film is top notch, with the most quietly creepy opening imaginable. Also check out “Shadow of the Vampire,” a black comedy about the making of the original “Nosferatu,” with Willem Defoe in the title role. I have to say, though, that my favorite is the BBC “Count Dracula,” with Louis Jourdan of all people in the title role. He’s like Milton’s Satan: he has a perfectly justified beef against God and intends to take it out on the rest of the world.
Why is nearly everyone ignoring the fact that Eggers' film is the SECOND remake of NOSFERATU? Werner Herzog remade NOSFERATU in 1979, with Klaus Kinski in the role of Dracula (Herzog's film used the names from Stoker's novel that Murnau had been legally barred from using in 1922). I'm SURE Eggers has seen NOSFERATU '79.
Hey Mike... Well done. I'll be in the theater for this one, solo because my wife doesn't do vampires. Big Eggers fan and the trailer looks freeking awesome. Enjoyed your review. Stef says Hi
Thanks for watching Keith! I think you're gonna dig this one. I can't see Stef enjoying it, since it's bit intense, so good call on going solo! Give the family some love for me!
I really enjoyed your review and I'm so excited for this film. I think it might be Eggers' best work yet. Incidentally there's a lesser known 2000 film titled Shadow of the Vampire about the production of Nosferatu. Coincidentally Willem Dafoe stars in that as well.
The distribution deal and licensing must be different. Often times movies aren't released on the same date around the world, and that seems to be the case for this one.

I know right ....lucky people patiently waiting
I feel extremely lucky to have seen it so early! It is definitely worth the wait and excitement.
The patience will pay off!
Me too so very excited for this, have to wait until 1st of Jan, luckily I'll go see this with my best friend in Liverpool.
@@MikesMonsters is it better than coppllas Dracula only thing I hated a b out Bram stokers Dracula is the music

Bill Skarsgard is slowly becoming this generation’s Lon Chaney.
I’d go more along the lines of Christopher Lee.

@@masterofallgoons chaney also did his own makeup, skarsgard aint bad, but he doesnt compare
@@fabianhammer2864 - True. Lon Chaney (Sr. that is) was a real pioneer.
That is a VERY good comparison! I wish I'd made that point in my video!
So glad I found your channel. I was fortunate to have seen the original on the big screen one Halloween. Definitely will see this one.

This one is going to be a big hit from what I can tell, and it deserves all the success. It's a damn fine film! Hope you dig it once you've seen it!
Robert Eggers is the man. Keen as a bean to see this at least twice!
I hope you dig it!!!
My bff would have LOVED this. She passed away this year. I would’ve secretly loved being dragged to it rolling my eyes.

@@MikesMonstersthat's actually a really good idea. She may even sit in to watch it too. Leave a seat empty.
I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you can enjoy this movie in time. I have lost, and find some experiences too intense still.
Can’t wait to see this!
Hope you enjoy it once you see it!
Great review babe!!! (I'm not biased at all... who are you again?) 🖤🖤🖤
😘
I seen the 1922 and 1979 film love them both. But never seen the shadow of the vampire! Can't wait to see the 2024 film. I won't be disappointed!
I really need to check out the 79 film along with Shadow of the Vampire! Hope you enjoy Nosferatu when you can see it!

I didn't ignore it at all, I mentioned at the end that I haven't seen the Herzog version and plan on checking it out soon.

I can't wait for this Movie. I'm a huge fan of Eggers.
It's worth the wait and Eggers knocked it out of the park!
Werner Herzog's version EATS this movie.
Have you seen the new one yet?
Why has America got this so early uk release date is 25th January

That interpolation you got going on looks disgusting.
I agree!
