The Explorer and V’s got it right with the headstocks. Kills me that they don’t do the same with the LPs.
My lefty 2018 GIbson Explorer has the granadillo fingerboard. I put some Nomad F-one oil on it and the grain just popped and went to a different level in its beauty. I'm just freaking happy they made a lefty Gibson Explorer, and I'd get myself a lefty Epi if I could. That M-4 is awesome you have there. \m/

That’s a very unique Explorer with the sergeant first class insignia. I like the red and white a lot better than the original green-stripe color scheme. Rock on!

That's nice, epiphones are great,for the price point u can't beat them.
My 2013 LP signature T Gibson has Granadillo on the fingerboard. Similar to Rosewood, but as you see, more red in the coloring. It works great for me.

the guitar you're referring to was the white one that copied his own that he modified and put a delay pedal on the body and took a drum sander to make the cutout

I got Zakk because of the arm band , and I'm a huge fan. Figured Slash was in there but not sure which one. Otherwise the poster is just hands and guitars for me. Always loved the explorer though. Good video TK!

That’s a nice thick slab of pretty rosewood on that fingerboard my friend. Epiphone is making some cool guitars lately! Great strap choice too!

Why did Jason Hook choose to remove the pick guard from the OG explorer? Just wondering.
If I remember correctly during one of his interviews he said he didnt like his guitars with a pick guard. On the explorer models,that pickguard covers a channel for wires that fit the pickups to the selector switch. So to cover that up,he put some conduit he found to cover that up.

Been watch TK for a long time and love the passion and the playing is much better today than it was a few years back. But some constructive criticism...it's time to mic and record into something like Torpedo live. The room mic's simply don't do the guitars and amps justice. It would be good to see you record with better sound quality (i.e. Fluff, Bea, Andertons, Agufish, etc.).

Nice review and nice sound and guitar. I have a Gibson Explorer that sounds really good so this one is not for me. But thanks anyway. I am left handed and this is very difficult to find good guitars for us.
how thin is the neck? really thin or with a bit of meat on it?
SWEET or What??? The fingerboard wood was used on Gibson's 2nd version of The Moderne the one that came out around 2012 at the Jan NAMM show. I think it's as nice as rosewood if not even better. Just like I can say that Fender is using Indian Laurel for rosewood on some of the newer Squier models. In any event, the Epiphone Explorer Outfit is a super guitar. I think it's even better than his original Gibson model. You must get a nicer hardshell case for that bad boy though. Congrats!!! I have a new Limited Edition FSR Telecaster in a Red Sparkle finish Squier Tele with the usual Bridge and Neck single coil pickups. It too has an Indian Laurel fingerboard. I'm waiting for this one to arrive as it seems UPS hasn't moved the guitar since it being at the UPS hub outside of Chicago 3 days ago. Still no word on it for a delivery date either. I'm hoping it'll show up today on Friday. All I can say is Gibson is BACK baby!!! LOL!!!
