There wasn't a song on this album I didn't love. It's one of those rare no skip albums for me. Also jumped up to being his best album for me. The R&B slow jams are really good, the Tennessee Kids shit is what it always has been, and the Pop/R&B is good. Solid album. Hopefully you go back and just recognize the fun, club vibe of the beginning.
Technicolor gets my vote for top track on this one. No Angels is a bop but like you said shitty writing. Agreed though, the good shit kicks in with Technicolor on.
In terms of the first song to the last song…it’s his best album. Meaning, I would add more total songs from this album to a playlist than past albums, even though those past albums do have way better single songs. In addition, it’s hard to actually “hate” any song off this album. And that just isn’t the case with pretty much any album from any artist. It’s simply a solid album, with parts pulled from not only past albums, but definitely recognizable influences from so many other great artists. There are so many fun/funky/disco vibe tracks that have that “cruising and jamming” feel. The ballads are solid, well written and totally have that r&b feel. And the instrumentation is fucking spot on (typical JT album), that you know it will translate even better live. I’m not sure what people were expecting from this release, but the dude is in his 40s, and every single pop/r&b artist would be super happy to release this type album at this point in their career.
I had in my mind a sound and writing I was looking for, especially with him working with Timbaland and one of my favorite writers, Kenyon Dixon. 4 tracks in I didn't think i was going to get that, but i got a lot of what i wanted as you can tell.

You had me laughing out loud on Memphis. I feel like a lot of us thought the same thing on the opener. I would've made that joint a closer or deleted it altogether. It provides a narrative to the album, so I get the song's purpose and I don't mind it. But overall, the album is good. I would've sequenced some of the songs differently on the album and delete a song or two to make the sound more cohesive and synergized, but the album is in a safe space because he's back in his Pop/R&B bag. Had me laughing on F*n Up the Disco too - sounding AARP'ish LOL. I would've opened up the album with that joint. Overall, dude got hits. I don't mind the long songs when he flips them so well midway like he does, but some songs don't need a tail end, just stick to the goods. But it's good to hear him back in good elevated Pop/R&B form. I think the direction he was going in before all the Britney ish was harder -- don't know how exactly but at least that was the impression I got from his old Zane Lowe interview. Like he had things to get off his chest. But when everything blew up with the book, I feel like he dialed it back and switched up the direction to stay safe. He did play it safe with the album but musically, I think he's back where he should be and that's a plus. He even took it to some new places with the sound and I dig that. I'm curious what he had in mind though before some of the Britney drama. Maybe next album. He did say after all that he made 100 songs. 8/10 🌟

I have ! Memphis is a bit too long for me, could have cut it at the rapping portion (you might disagree and I get that!), I wanna like f up the disco so bad it’s just not there yet for me ! Has some elements I like but better in second listen, no angels out of the four is my favorite on second listen probably
I rock with every song on the album except two but they just mid to me but i think they grow on me but the whole album to me is album of the year so far

This was really a great watch! I think he made a big mistake putting Memphis as the opener, it’s garbage. But Play slaps, though. You need to go back for that one.

I got to take a second listen I think I was expecting a different sound at the top of the album lol and my friends are big JT fans, i said I was doing the reaching and they told me “you should love yourself more” im like dang it can’t be that bad lol. And it ended up being pretty good 😊

I have ! Memphis is a bit too long for me, could have cut it at the rapping portion (you might disagree and I get that!), I wanna like f up the disco so bad it’s just not there yet for me ! Has some elements I like but better in second listen, no angels out of the four is my favorite on second listen probably

This was really a great watch! I think he made a big mistake putting Memphis as the opener, it’s garbage. But Play slaps, though. You need to go back for that one.

yeah i figured he might have benefitted if he left a few out, if he wanted to put them out maybe an EP leading up to the album like a care package kind of EP, or a "sessions" kind of project. But I agree. @@littlemzboots10
Memphis, Play, Liar and What Lovers Do are the ones i Don't like....I LOOOOVE the rest of the album.

This album was dissapointment for me couple of nice song but not as trash as is most horrible album Man of the Woods. 20/20 still holds up and way better then both these last 2 albums

I got to take a second listen I think I was expecting a different sound at the top of the album lol and my friends are big JT fans, i said I was doing the reaching and they told me “you should love yourself more” im like dang it can’t be that bad lol. And it ended up being pretty good 😊
