Mr. Brock is one of the nicest and most humble guys there is. I'm lucky to have him local to me here in Las Vegas. I stopped in the shop a few months ago to buy a Spook spoiler, and the office manager had Mr. Brock come out despite my reservations on bothering him. Mr. Brock then came outside in 100+ degree heat to take a look at my 4G63 swapped 510. I was shocked when he quickly put himself on the blistering pavement to take a look at my suspension bits underneath. He didn't even think twice about it. He had nothing but kinds words for my project and even made an appearance at a local autocross to just to hang out and say hi to everyone. Amazing man and I'm so thankful for all the things he's done for car culture and design. Thanks for giving us a brief look into him and his history.
@@tommurphy4307 I don’t have a built motor. It’s just a 2G with EVO rods and pistons. The head is fairly well built. I went to a few events in SoCal when I lived in Vegas. The car shows out there aren’t my scene.
Outstanding mates! Talking to a legend like Brock is one thing, but getting a ride in he's Dime and a tour of his shop... Absolutely blown away... and jealous.
Beautiful cars just wish mine had 68 4door candy orange & a purple station wagon L20 dual carbs 45 & single side draft on the didn't have the money take care sold it to good friend.....
What an awesome bloke and car. My uncle had a 1600 and I might be wrong but it was a 4 door SSS ???? The carbies were a bitch on it, would never idle. Unfortunately he traded it in before I could buy it 😖
I've had 3 over the years, but I put twin 45mm webers on the and it was so easy to start and would just idle nicely forever, never had a problem with them. Plus with all the other engine mods it sure had a lot of 'grunt'!
FUCK BOYS!! Your production went from 0 - 800 since my “constructive criticism” last time around lolz. No shit though, the 3rd cameraman adds allot to the professionalism of your videos. The narration vocals whilst showing the memorabilia was excellent work although there was an awkward, long ass silence at the start of the video lolz. Still top notch. Glad you got rid of those fukn bogan chairs use sit on. I’m ‘grass rooting’ for you guys. I sincerely hope you pricks make it big time because you’re one of the only channels who are streaming top quality cars. I don’t mean mint condition either. I’m talking about 510’s, V8’s to rotors and more. Quantity can also mean quality in this business. Request.. If I may.. Try find a 510 rotor. It’s in my to do list for my future project 510. Would love to see what the image of my car would look like in hindsight. If not, then go to NZ and check out the 6 rotor RX4. Off it’s head. Man I’m too high, I just realised how much I’ve typed. Peace 🤙🏾🤙🏾
This car was a very slow build over 20 years, Pete Brock actually mentioned off camera the next upgrade was brakes. Thanks for watching mate. Cheers Ryan and Pete
Towallomee sgel fastest way to ruin a 510 is put a v8 in it. Not to mention getting rid of the cool looking factory dash. It takes away the personality of the 510.
We love the fact that it’s different, also remember he started this build 20 years ago. He spoke off camera and said if he built one today it would have a modern day 4cyl Sr or similar. Thanks for watching mate. Cheers Ryan and Pete
Its the best of Pete. If you study history, you'll see many hybrid creations with V8 Power. If you study this car...youll quickly see that this is on par.
You have to appreciate the amount of engineering and for us a V8 in a Datsun 510 was so exciting as it would never happen as a street legal car in Australia 🇦🇺 Thanks for watching Ryan and Pete
GrassRoots Garage U I kinda don't appreciate the engineering that went into this vehicle. The 510 is a 50/50 weight distribution vehicle. Putting a BOAT ANCHOR in the engine compartment it is sacrilege. That abomination wouldn't be able to handle a canyon as well as a 510 with an SR-20 under the hood. Everyone loves to put that ugly CHEVY 350 truck engine in everything from Hot Rods to Toyota Landcruisers. I shutter with disgust When I see someone put 20k into bodywork and paint 15k into the interior, another 10k on suspension and brakes, and a $500 Chevy 350 under the hood. To me its like putting a Toyota Tundra engine into a 65 Ford Mustang Fastback. Or how about a Nissan Rogue engine into a 1969 Triumph. That poor 510 wants an engine more suited to its heritage. It should not have to live its life as a nose heavy FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER.
GrassRoots Garage If the vehicle maintains its 50/50 weight distribution that boat ANCHOR of an engine would have to be sitting between the front seats. The added weight would have to be ridiculous to make it road worthy. I would like to see how well it handles compared to a 510 with a built SR-20. I'm willing to bet it gets ANNIHILATED in every possible way.

Absolute down to earth legend he is.

It's RWD. I'm using an R154 transmission with a cast bellhousing by Bill Hincher. Pretty simple swap actually.
@@Jeffball610 is that a magnus-built motor? do you take it to southern california at all?

Well done!

Always been a 510 fan. Wish I had my 70 baby blue back. Great seeing Mr Brock
Wicked vid .... It was so awesome to meet Pete at jccs 510 for life
I'm looking in the background and I see two of the Revell BRE model kits that I have in my stash, the 240Z and the 510. This was an awesome vid!
Awesome!!! How good are the BRE models! I have a few myself.
Thanks for watching 👌🏻

I built one years ago when I was a kid. I'm a much better modeler now, but they were fun back then, so I imagine they be as much fun today.
Mr Brock is a National Treasure!!
Great video, I just subscribed.

How good are twin Weber’s!!! My first 2 510‘s had them. It’s hard to be that sound!!!!
A wheel change would make that car exceptional
What's the color of the 510
All we know it’s sourced from a 2009 stock Nissan colour if that helps.
Cheers
Ryan
How much cost this car ?
It was advertised for $58,500 USD
GrassRoots Garage It's beautiful your desing ! Wow a Mr. Datsun !
No mention of Troy Stevens or the couple other guys who actually built that car?
SVT focus wheels ftw
Im sorta hurt...... BRE was DATSUN, not Chevy.
Did wee man build that ride...is that his wipp

Just missing John Morton
Nice work but a disapintment at the same time XD
Why???
I can now see why people dig these cars back out of the grave.
Datsun series is over, life is meaningless now 😢
Stay tuned mate, we are doing part 2 in the USA next year
