The pollen rises in the night so that’s why it might be worse if u have ur window open in your bedroom
I saw a news report the other day that said be careful leaving hand sanitizer in your car bc of the percentage if alcohol in it, it can start a fire!! 😱
Im finally getting out of a depressive episode, started working out again yesterday and am finishing up school and yours and zoes vlogs have helped so much

Alfie! Use nettles (in tea) for allergies ~ works like a charm! We have a lot on our farm, we harvest them and just put in hot water, for tea. Nature's antihistamine, honestly works immediately. Great source of iron too.
How that section of the garden started was how my entire garden was and has been for 4 years or so, my we had stinging nettles and thorns everywhere. During lockdown we’ve cleared the whole garden and it’s just a load of soil to build upon now 💪🏻

Try wearing a mask when gardening because you’re going to be so low into the weeds. It won’t cure it but may help block some of the pollen so you don’t inhale so much and won’t worsen your allergies as much :)

I love that you guys are out in the garden. My partner and I have been in isolation for 10 weeks now and have been using the time to completely landscape our backyard which is a massive project when there are only two of you working haha
Careful using weed killer in beds you are growing food in. If you can rent a small rototiller to dig it all up it should be pretty quick work!

I’ve heard a facial steamer is good for your sinuses. Or just put a little bit of eucalyptus in a bowl of hot water and put a towel over your head over the bowl to do a diy steam. Maybe wear a mask when you are gardening? Something that will filter the pollen at least a little bit.

May not want to put weed killer in the same place you will be planting edible plants. Some plants will not grow in an area where weed killer has been used, let alone the plants that do grow will absorb the chemical.
Those strawberries are called Alpine Strawberries - they're nice :)
My hay fever can be worse at night as it cools down so the pollen drops down lower in the air. The rain makes it so bad as well! Put some Vaseline on your nose and it blocks the pollen a bit, and use eye drops

Try some companion planting in your garden to help with the bugs etc. Marigolds, lavender, mint etc. Just google what will work well with whatever you're planting :)

There is this roll of stuff you van buy to puter under the soil and plants to make sure no weeds grows in your patch.
Alfie you can take two hay fever tablets a day as it is antihistamines so if you have more histamines than you need more tablets. They aren’t bad as long as you don’t get side effects
. It is fantastic to see you being interested in gardening as I am studying horticulture

you need to check what type of meds you are using as some might not work for you. My hayfever is worse in the evening and I find that Loperamide doesn’t work for me so I have to get hayfever meds that use Cetrizine Hydrochloride. I also have a nasal spray to use in the evening if I’m finding that my meds are wearing off. It’s a pain but once you get the right combo down for you it’s so much more manageable

The masks help with hayfever Alfie. I've always had a washable mask that I use in the summer because it honestly helps minimise hayfever I'm able to go for a forest walk without getting crazy hayfever.
In my experience with hayfever to grasses, it is the strongest when the sun comes up and goes down.

Hey Alfie typing this as I’m still watching the video, but just seen the part about the hand sanitiser. Just to let you know to not leave the hand sanitiser in the car directly in the heat as it’s highly flammable. I saw a picture yesterday of one exploded in a car and it melted and destroyed some on the interior of the persons car. Just in case ☺️ stay safe xo
You need to put some Blueberry bushes in and strawberries as well
Be careful leaving hand sanitizer in the sun or in the car! It is incredibly flammable and there have been a lot of fires caused by it !

Personally, I have to recommend a nasal spray for the hay fever!
Completely agree. I also recommend using different kinds of allergy meds in conjunction with each other (pills, nasal sprays, eye drops). It’s perfectly safe and super helpful.
My hay-fever is so bad at the moment too and my nose gets so blocked in the late afternoon and evening so I feel the same x
By the way, I bought an electric rototiller for about $100 u.s. Worth every penny!! Makes digging up the garden so much easier!

I’ve been to the doctors a few times about my hay fever and they have told me I can take up to 3 hay fever tables a day! I was told that at the doctors and the hospital when I was having allergy testing done x

Also with your hayfever try wearing something across your mouth & nose that is damp, it will help catch the pollen before it gets to your body parts that react to it or wear a cycling mask with a filter in it x
Dont worry too much about the one tablet a day for hayfever Alfie! My mum really suffers and takes 5 or 6 most days! Doctor told her its fine to take more than one, one is more of a recommendation, its not like paracetamol, you cant overdose it :) hope you see this and it helps you!
Don't keep hand gel in the car! Apparently when it gets very hot it explodes....It happened to some people here in Italy
