well well....in all former adaptations of this scene...sephiroth always made an evil stare at the viewer, always making clear that he embraced his monster side and now he will fullfill JENOVA's wish....but in this version he seems.....doubfull and regretfull, then he smiles at "cloud" (wink wink) as they used too, almost as he is trying to comfort him or asking him for help....but then he snaps back to reality and he knows he did something horrible and he had to keep on, so with a serious and kind of sad expression he dissapears throught the flames
It's amazing that they added the most minute details that completely change the entire dynamic of the scene. Cloud is terrified of him in this moment, and in OG VII the devs wanted US terrified too and it worked. But now that we know so much more about this world and storyline they knew they didn't have to just recreate the feeling of the iconic moment at all. They could change it. And that's why this universe is one of if not the best FF universes to bring back to life now with new context
That's just too much smile. Advent Children did it better. He looks like he's trying to hard to be a smarmy asshole here. He should barely care that Cloud/Zack is looking at him.
Sephiroth in this version looks like the creepy guy at the corner of the bar who just noticed a girl looking at him, so he gives her a creepy smile, but then the girl turns away, then he leaves the bar after being rejected.
It's interesting in this adaptation he Look Regretful When He Stare at Cloud( Actually Zack) He honestly tries to say something but he doesn't know how to explain himself and Leaves. Keep in mind he Avoided killing Zack. He showed no hesitation butchering the people, He Avoided Killing Zack. Keep in mind it makes sense considering that zackis the last piece of His Past and He Is Angeal Legacy. He knows that zack cares about him as A Friend And that disturbing smile was probably as smile of reassurance like Wants Zack To understand That he is in the Right At the same time he looked unsure of himself.@@holdmyown06
He doesn't look like he regrets tho. The og is better bc it portrays its change of emotion I think. He looks detached from what is happening, which feets more imo, idk why the other versions try to make it seems like he have personnal beef with Cloud (well Zack) with his expression changing at the sight of him@@hairglowingkyle4572

Yup keep a mind that's He and Zack are Friends.. Keep in mind He Avoided Killing Zack.
Anakin in Mustafar after killing the Separatists vibes.

Also keep in mind this is the same smile "Aerith" gave Cloud by the lake at the ending
You get that from this scene? I think you are crazy sir
Oh god, they made it even worse (in a good way)!
He's not just smiling evilly anymore, he's full on psychotic!
The fire still burns...
Damn I just got to this part and ughhhh it was great and the slowed version of one winged angel made it better
Just everything about FFVII is iconic.
once every adaptation
it’s too iconic not to
Now that's the real nibelhiem nightmare
🎶Relight my fire... Your love is my only desire.🎶
0:11 NGL this smile here makes me take this version of the scene less seriously than the PS1 version of the scene.
The burden is his alone to bear.
I can fix him...

Whats the music
One winged angel ( Sephiroth's theme but in diffirent version )

He is downright scary in this version.
This is probably the best one because of that. It's as if he regrets it but he keeps going
Yeah, its too much smile. Advent did it better.
