That is correct but they don't do that anymore. The show owns a different squad that was bought from Antioch IL and this one now stays a spare for the CFD. Everything else they use is old that they will not need.

I believe the HOME squad 3 rig is one of the PA300 rigs and the snorkel has the Motorola spectra Siren(one of my favorite sirens that Chicago fire department has)
According to squad 3, it used to be a 1989 Spartan Gladiator when that first used it in the Chicago Fire and used it as a spare.
