  • DISCLAIMER: About a minute's worth of video and audio is deleted from the middle of the vid because UMG (Universal Music Group) asserts--incorrectly, I must emphasize--that my use of The Warning's music during those sixty seconds or so is not protected under the "fair use" clause of U.S. copyright law. So my only option was to simply delete that section.
This, despite the fact that during those sixty-ish seconds, there were only TEN seconds of music.
Sorry, everyone. UMG's position is unfair and flagrantly illegal, but there's not a chance in hell that I could pursue this situation and not get hit with an actual copyright strike.
So please enjoy the parts of the video that are not maimed.

They themselves have commented in several videos that of course there is a certain pop sensibility in KMF regarding the construction of the melodies and some of Dany's vocal techniques, etc., which I guess is why so many people keep ranting about them becoming very poppy, or the record label forcing them to do this or that, or the evil producers, or anything else they can think of to babble about.
Because then it turns out that the riffs are more powerful than ever, there are authentic metal sections like never before, Pau keeps hitting the drums hard as hell and Ale gets a bass sound capable of making your teeth dance. If this is how pop sounds like, give me more.
PS: about Sharks... well, Evolve was my #1fav since the first listen. But no more 🦈🩸

I saw a guy comment on a post about TW’s venue size including in the US.
As a disclaimer, I have no idea if he knew what he was talking about or just talking out of his butt…but it made me think.
His contention is that above a certain venue size, he stipulated 5,000 capacity, that the responsibility shifts to the band to provide the equipment to project the sound in the venue.
His contention is that TW simply doesn’t own enough equipment to play bigger venues without renting equipment locally and paying locals to help setup and tear down which obviously eats into the already slim profit margins of touring.
If you’ve seen TW tour bus and trailer you know that they are not carrying enough equipment not to rely on a venues in house PA system to transmit their sound.
You see the more established bands show up a large venue with 2 to 3 semi trucks full of equipment and it takes a day or two to set up the stage and take everything down.
I’m not saying those bands “own” that equipment, it’s likely leased for the duration of the tour.
That’s could be what TW are gonna have to do to play bigger venues which will mean more time between shows and a nightmare of logistics. I would assume the label helps out some but the label doesn’t do much that doesn’t cost the band in the end.
During the high production shows TW did recently in Mexico I’m pretty sure TW hired a production company to accommodate the much larger venue they played in.
If KMF breaks them big, especially in the US, they are gonna have to bite the bullet and expand their operation substantially.
The days of playing 19 shows in 24 days and under $50 tickets will be long gone.
I think we’ll be seeing TW playing small to mid sized venues and taking advantage of the festival scene mostly due to logistics for the foreseeable future unless KMF becomes the album of the year which is unlikely in a pop dominated culture.
Edit: when I was a teen I remember going to concerts and the band had huge amp stacks onstage.
Today, you don’t see that near as much so maybe it’s not a big deal at all for a band to play large venue’s without owning or leasing large amounts of equipment.
It seems just as plausible today that larger venues would have more than adequate PA systems to hold a concert and if the band wants to supplement the sound it’s up to them?
Maybe the logistics deal mostly with the bands own stage and lighting/show preferences and not so much audio equipment.
It would be nice if a roadie chimed in to answer how it really works.

Their large Patreon base has helped them greatly through the years and helps mitigate the costs, but your point is well taken.
Their comments about a kind of utility musician for live shows (similar to Muse) being out of the scope of their finances implies the profit margins are pretty slim.

Tank the Tech has some good videos on his channel about the complexities and costs of touring (he most recently was the tour manager for Electric Callboy). It seems that, unless you can fill an arena at $100-300/ticket, most bands survive on their merch sales. The Warning is very fortunate that they have their endorsements and the large Patreon base, to provide some stable and predictable income. When the time comes that they can headline large arenas in the US, the costs and logistics will be a totally different animal.

Keep Me Fed ranks on #1 in the UK rock charts, #4 in German rock charts (3 positions higher than Mötley Crüe's new album, and the ladies use significantly less hairspray than Mötley Crüe...😁😄) , the venues are getting bigger and bigger... already got my ticket for April 2025 in Cologne/GER. I agree what you say about the crowds. The crowds in South America are epic, especially in Argentina. In Europe we are maybe a little more active than the crowds in the US, but that will change as more and more young people go to their shows. Here are the descriptions of the songs from the album's pre-save page:
Six Feet Deep → A song about dealing with other people's god complexes.
S!ck → A song about fearing that you never lived out your life and desperately wanting to live it.
Apologize → The anger and resentment of having to deal with the consequences of other people's mistakes.
Que Mas Quieres → It's about taunting and manipulating. We were thinking of the TikTok phrase, 'Gaslight, Gatekeep, Girlboss' and turned it into a song.
More → A song about relationships, the push and pull and wanting 'MORE' out of life.
Escapism → A song about unhealthy coping mechanisms. Escaping into your brain to avoid reality.
Satisfied → Venting song about never being enough for someone.
Burnout → A song about being tired of being dragged down by someone who just stopped trying in life.
Sharks → A song about perfectionism and judgment. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Hell You Call A Dream → The song expresses a feeling most musicians find hard to express. When you're touring, you experience the positives, the negatives, and the whole spectrum of emotion all at once. It's about how something you love so much can be something that also weighs you down, but you continue to do it out of love. It's fulfilling, but it's tiring.
Consume → A song about pointing fingers and avoiding blame only to find yourself participating in the same system you criticize so much.
Automatic Sun → It's about missing someone and the energy this person gives you. You're drawn into their gravitational pull and brightness-like an automatic sun.

When I was young, didn’t matter who was playing, we got into the music at concerts mostly sitting down; getting into the music in our heads (and only tangentially in our bodies) like you do with classical music or jazz. But I can actually remember the time-it was somewhere in the early eighties-when all of a sudden-it was an outdoor Bob Dylan concert opened by Tom Petty-and everybody was standing. I couldn’t see a thing. At first I was annoyed, but realized eventually, this is just how they enjoy the music. Some people get into the music in their heads, some in their bodies and some, I’m sure, both. There’s no right or wrong. No reason to judge.

I think that listening to KMF as an actual complete work, in the album's track order, through very good headphones is a revelatory experience vs. just hearing the singles that had been released prior to the entire album. Every track came across as better than the one it followed for me when I listened to the entire thing.
I think Dany channeled Tom Morello's guitar sensibilities at several points on this album, and I intend that as a very high compliment.

I have to disagree with you on the production. It takes away from Dany's vocals and the constant fuzz/static-vocal compression make it hard for me to sit through the entire album in one go (I do have some pretty high sound sensitivity, where things like loud bass or heavy static tires me out, both mentally and physically. Funny story: as I was typing this, Hysteria by Muse came on shuffle, and I had to skip it because I just can't stand the noise in it - so I do realize I'm a bit picky about this, although not by choice *sighs*).
That issue was not present with Error and QOTMS, so I'm still listening to those on repeat instead.
Even if it wasn't for the ear-fatigue, I just prefer the cleaner vocals and guitar tones, I guess, and I hope they pull back from this experiment a bit in the future. I mean, so far, all the live cuts have sounded better than the album version (especially HYCAD, which loses a LOT of its momentum due to her voice being so modulated), so hey, if they release a live album, I'll be the first to jump on THAT bandwagon!
All that to say, it's not a bad album. A bit repetitive/bash you over the head with the toxic relationship theme, and missing some Pau vocals (I think she gets a smidge of lead at the start of Sharks? It's also harder to tell the sisters apart with the vocal filters!) and a slower song, but Sharks was definitely a nice surprise, and I do go back to some of the songs from time to time, but on their own. Que Mas Quieres is just fun, haha!

What a surprise! TW aren't sticking to any genre format, even within one song. They do a truly great F*&^K you song and do it a lot. To me that screams "PUNK! OK!" . I still stick to my contention that TW are their own ( at present) genre that I feel is best described as "Vogue Punk", for those songs that it applies. This album really wallows in it.
The closest band sound to TW I think was Blondie. And they actually called themselves punk. If you had heard them live ( I actually have), they also got way heavier live.

Trying to describe The Warning to someone -- how do you say they are, "rock, alt, punk, grunge, metal"? I just say they were raised on classic hard rock and have mentioned a broad range of music preferences from classical to K-pop, to hard/alt/punk/metal rock. They have a knack for nicely blending most any genre under the "rock" umbrella into what I can only describe as "The Warning" sound.
