- On 2nd April 2023, following the passing of Paul O'Grady, Myra DuBois had her regular Sunday residency at Lily Savage's old stomping ground, the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. The Tavern was packed with punters who wanted to remember Lily and what she meant to the scene.
Here is Myra DuBois' tribute to Lily Savage and her thoughts on the community.

Well done Myra, you got Lilly just right and to mention 4 others from that generation was wonderful. Was not in the U.K. to attend but I was there in spirit, singing and cheering along. I’m an old taverner who can go back to pre Lilly times and all the others you mentioned but I love the stars of today and of course the RVT family and community ❤❤❤❤
Proper drag act. Ru pauls drags have really spoilt this area of entertainment by thinking lip synching and dancing is a drag show.

I am now one of The Stately Homo's of England and apologise to you Myra having passed me by, Not anymore...thank you so much for your genuine heartfelt homage to Lily And OUR community. I will be enjoying you in what ever future I have got left.

I never went to the Vauxhall Tavern, I preferred the ladies in the Queen Anne across the park 😊... But this is a great tribute to a great fella, and there will always be a part of Vauxhall with the spirit of Lily 👍👍
I am of that generation you mention. In the 80’s & 90’s I trolled around London to the pubs & clubs to see Regina, Adrella, Zsarday, Lily & all the contemporary performers. The Cap, The Tavern, The Mucky Duck, The Brewers, The LA, I’d be there howling & whopping with laughter.

Thank you darling for making this beautiful memorial speech and sharing the recording. Everything you said about Lily and the community resounded so deeply. In the early 90s when we all faced such hardships together, Lily, Regina and the others gave a voice and a beautiful presence to our humanity.
Paul(Lily) would be overwhelmed with the love people are showing, it actually still hasnt sunk in, i think it will take a while for it to sink in, i was gonna see him in panto this year an i was gonna wait outside to get a photo and i keep getting moments where i think 'oh i cant wait to see him' then i remember he isnt here anymore, totally devasted
"Henious snotty little fuck trophies" - brilliant! I went to my local pub this lunch for a quiet pint and a butty while reading the news and a few of the gobby ferals were running round unsupervised (or gagged) because it's the Easter school holidays, disturbing my repose. I so buy into this comment of Myra's!
