    You guys should've tried the Coolify. It's a neck fan, but it has a cooling plate on the back! It's almost like a mix of Anna's fan and the Frogg Towel, athough it is $150. Might be a worthy investment though. I don't have one, but I've been thinking about it with these Nashville summers.

    My mother was a teacher, so the only times we went to Disney and Universal as a kid were the hottest of hot times. I remember being so miserable and saying I would never take a vacation in July or August. I stuck to my word too. I remember getting those first little plastic fans that hung on a string around your neck when they first came out. I thought they were the greatest thing ever.
    If I was overheated as a kid you know it was scorching. We lived outside in the summer, 105 out all day on the bikes. Atari and Nintendo were reserved for night times and downpours.

    We’ve bought and tried about 10 different fans because we are just wimps in the Florida heat. The hip fan Anna used here is a must that I use every day in Florida. It is heavy but the reason is it lasts a full day at the parks. I have heard construction workers use them, so they are bigger because of battery. But that alone doesn’t do it for me. I have found as for a neck fan the 10000mah hand tan works the best and again because it has such a big battery it lasts a full touristy day in the park on highest speed. The white model Anna has looks a lot better but the wind you get with this one is like multiples better. Highly reccomend checking it out. We’ve tried the towels but usually after like an hour it just feels gross? Idunno maybe we are doing it wrong. If we had a cooler to switch them out like Tyler said that could be a winner 😂 but the problem I’ve found with a lot of neck fans is there are great ones that just don’t last long (1.5-2 hours) at full speed.

    • @ThePughTwo
      @ThePughTwo  Год назад

      We’ve been amazed with how long the pants fan has held it’s charge! It sounds like we need to invest in that neck fan too lol HHN is around the corner and stay and scream is always like a sauna. We’ve found that rinsing out the towel every few hours makes it feel cleaner, and wrapping it up in ice for a few minutes makes you forget about that too 😂 we’re realizing we weren’t meant for the FL heat either. It’s brutal!!

      You could probably build a sun blocking umbrella if you have decent hand sewing skills. Take two umbrellas (30-36 inch diameter; both the same exact model) with one being black and the other light colored. Remove the light cover and sew it over the black umbrella. It blocks somewhat more light than normal and the light cover reflects more sun. BTW speaking of nurses; don't healthcare facilities use an Igloo drink cooler with blue tubes placed on the body? The cool liquid is pumped from the Igloo.

    How it does in the heat I couldn't tell you but I did score a microfiber dish towel at Dollar Tree that takes a few hours to dry at room temperature. One person who commented on a video says that they bought a similar towel out of their auto section. I didn't find anything there other than square towels. The square fans would also be good for cooling camera equipment if you could clip one onto the pedestal/rod. Some vloggers have seen their gear overheat. Maybe someone sells a finned heatsink similar to that used on CPU's and amps.

    • @ThePughTwo
      @ThePughTwo  6 месяцев назад

      You’ll have to let us know how that towel does in the heat! Our main camera actually has an internal fan to help with overheating. We had some pretty bad issues with our old one, so this has been much better!

    Ok, so when you said "Did you not see that that clap?"" there was a lighting and clap of thunder here at the same time... well, technically it was several days later, but really - it was weird. 😆
    Ice cold drinks work the best for me, followed by a little mister bottle/sprayer thing (sometimes with fans). Mist your face/shirt and it helps a bit if it's awful. I was selling hot sauce at a festival on the fourth (yes, it was not a great day for hot sauce, but what can you do...) and the heat index was 127 according to the weather app. Thankfully we had a sea breeze (Southport NC next to the ocean), ice and a mister.

    1:20 I wouldn't bother wit ice packs when I'm about 50 mi NW of UO
    2:15 I'd stick with my Torras Coolify 2 for 200 (also on Amazon), but may spring for the 2S or 3 where I can use it while charging and have an app. Also, the waist fan if they can make the belt about 48-50".
    3:10 Same thing with the Coolify
    7:27 I bought one of those for work but it kept comin off my waist with all the trash I collect in the parking lot
    7:50 There has to be someone who never did since almost all of us with access to a box fan or similar have done it
    10:06 I used to able to handle some of that heat, but these past several days have been beatin on me

    When it gets to heat stroke kinda hot, don’t cool your face, cool your blood. It drops your whole body’s temp instead of just feeling nice on your face. But don’t use that little arm device, wet your arms and back of neck and let it air dry, use that cooling towel with ice cold water. That literally brought me back from nearly passing out a few times.

    I have the towels as well didn’t need to use it our last trip but I find wetting yourself or the towel and squeezing excess water out and applying it then using a fan is the best feeling and cools you down.
    They used to have these fan sticks or cups with fans on them when I was a kid growing up in florida they were the best, I know lot of places had them back then, and I think even came with spritzer. Idk if they still have them anywhere you might be able to find one online or maybe Disney would have something like that.
    Does universal still do the air and water spritzing through the park ? I know when we went to volcano bay they had that and full on water but was more so helpful for cleaning your feet and such but I remember that universal used to have lot of the walkways with air and mist you with water.
    Also can imagine an umbrella and maybe hat would be really helpful

    There’s a wrist cooler called Embr Wave 2. $300 and does NOTHING. So don’t do it. The pants fan…can you rig it on a lanyard and put it down your shirt? Try rubbing alcohol to cool off. Used to have a doc in the OR that would get really hot. He wanted you to pour the alcohol down his back. He loved it…..just don’t let it get in your crack. He screamed when that happened. 😂. I think the parks should be open only at night all summer. Oh, and LOTS of frozen butterbeer!

    Best heat advice from an Arizonan where we get 24/7 100 degree weather for a month in the peak summer season…
    Wear a hat, lightweight clothing that moisture wicks, sunglasses, sunscreen, drink tons of water carry a light colored umbrella and use a cooling towel. I love to wear my towel over my head or wrapped around my neck like a scarf.
    One thinks I’ve noticed traveling to Orlando in the summer is popping into stores etc. is very helpful…humid weather is much easier to cool down from and you will sweat more which helps keep your body cool.
    Enjoy friends!

    Would a plain shammy towel work as well as a so called "cooling towel," or does the cooling towel actually contain extra parts to make it work better?
    I have also used Biofreeze singles for a quick chill (rub the gel on my neck, wrists, and forehead). It helps a little. No batteries or ice needed.
