I still use my 2012 TRS 4-5 times a year. Best board I ever had,.I have bought and sold other boards since but the TRS brings me the most joy for all mountain riding. The control is sharp and the overall stability keeps me confident in all types of terrain.
I’ve had a few trs libs. I found a brand new 2013 board in the wrapper in my garage. I’ve been riding the life out of an earlier trs. The 2013 will be same c2 horsepower as the 2012. Such a fun board in any terrain
I had 3 in row, then went cap mercury last year, and while it’s faster and better at bombing, it’s not as much fun and that’s what riding is about….still have my TRS though…maybe I should get this
dno how it is w the boards, how much the years play or the rider's pref... had the 2018 for a season daily, but pbly has been the most boring board I've had. after that had two bataleons and now jones stratos for the two last years, these all have been quite fun. one useless comment contributed ✅
I have the 2021 version and it's my favorite snowboard I've ever owned. I don't have a bottomless slush fund for boards so I hunt for boards that I can do everything on and this delivers. Rails a carve, can take it in the park, nimble in the trees, and holds up in pow. Excited to try the 2023 at some point.
Just bought this in a 162 based on your recommendation.. you did me a solid in the 23/24 Rome Ravine select revue . No if I could just afford the Gucci black label bindings you’ve been sporting around the hill.
Thanks Angry for another great review. Looking at this and the Bataleon Goliath + for this years all mountain charger and working on riding switch consistently. Gotta wait 3 more days, appreciate your assessments of these great decks.
Nice Last of the Brohicans..Real nice bro.
You’re the worst but the best. Keep going, we need you
Think I’m going to pair this board with the Union Force. Should be a great fit
I had the old TRS with C2. For me it felt to loose between the feet. After two seasons i bought the boxknife with C3 Camber and was initially shocked how aggressivly it plowed through the snow. After an hour I got used to it, after two hours I loved it.
I wonder though how the TRS with C3 might feel.
sweet review, got this one on sale! lets go!
What do you think of your 1st impressions of a board? Wait a few days to see if it grows on you? Do you ever like boards right away? I don't get to ride a bunch of boards but I just got the '24 version of this and it just felt like a stiff plank. It was not fun to ride and I'd hit some chopped up snow and pow that I could usually charge right through and with this I just got all bucked around and my ankles hurt.
My other board is a 2018 C2 Banana Magic and when I got that I don't remember taking an aversion to it like this. I'll ride it another days anyways but thinking I will sell it.
The review is the first impression of it.
I'm a solid intermediate, older side but fit and strong. Currently riding a rome reverb rocker. Looking to progress towards more backcountry/freeride when conditions suit but I spend a lot of time on groomers in the French alps. I've narrowed my options down to either a 159 TRS or a 156 Terrain wrecker. I like the trs being true twin (and more versatile?). I like the terrain wrecker having what would seem to be a more forgiving profile. What would your advice be?
If you're coming off a Reverb Rocker this board will throttle your ass and humble you. Get the Terrain Wrecker.
Any plans to review the Gnu RC C2x or C3, curious how it compares to this and which you like better, leaning toward the RCC3
Nothing has changed since the last time I rode the RCC3: ruclips.net/video/BmEpN72W92s/видео.html
Seems like it’s finally morphed into hot knife 2.0, would you agree?
It's like that and a Dark Series from years past put together.
This comment got me over the fence on this board. Gonna upgrade to this from my hot knife. yeww
Which Burton Cartel would you recommend for this board? The X or the non X?
Dealers choice.
Would you say this is more of an expert's board? I'm intermediate that's looking for an overall good board I can use for most things
It is, if you want more of an all around from Lib I'd look at something like the Dynamo, T.Rice Pro, or Terrain Wrecker.
Great video!! So I’m looking at this board and the lib tech dynamo? I do a lot of free ride and some jumps and tree mostly all mountain! What is your opinion between these two. Is one better then the other for all mountain riding? Thanks
Dynamo is going to be a bit better for what you're describing honestly.
Can do for a 50 YO light advanced rider without a workout attitude? I'm Riding in the Alps with still a moderate suicidal tendency, mostly liking speed, but daughter and age want their toll. So looking for something still funny under mach 10.
Thanks for the review
No.
Have you spent any time on this years Box Knife? If so how do you like it? I’m between that and the TRS
Nothing's changed since the last time I rode it.
Would you recommend this for someone coming from a Salomon Dancehaul who wants more stability for ice/slush and carving?
Do you want to die?
@@AngrySnowboarder trying not to on my Dancehaul but all the runs have turned into ice 😐
This boards going to be too much for you.
@@AngrySnowboarder Would this be a good fit for someone looking to replace their custom x. Looking for something that can ride like my custom x does. I love how my x takes to charging 115%
Would you consider this the best "direction twin all mountain freestyle" for carving? If not, what is?
It's OK, there's better out there. Amplid Singular, Ride Algorhythm, Korua Otto.
@@AngrySnowboarder thanks! i was under the impression that the singular and otto were directional, not directional twin.
what about amplid Paradigma?
@@1randumbguy singular has a true twin
@@duprazsnow9057 they discontinued the paradigma. You can either go with the Ticket or the Singular.
Between the TRS and Stale Mod which one is stiffer, better carver, and more stable at speed?
TRS.
Hey Angry, if You would compare Lib TRS with Nitro Team Pro, which of them would be better for carving outside of the park with higher speeds, and which would be more stable?
TRS is more damp and stable but the Team Pro is better at carving in my opinion.
@@AngrySnowboarder Thank You!
Angry-Would this be a good option coming from the Hot Knife looking to ride all MTN, powder, get better riding switch?
It's essentially the Hot Knife replacement.
Am I right in thinking skate tech bindings are better for pow/freeriding than for groomers?
I feel it's better for edge to edge power transmission.
I have size 12 boots. Should I get the 159 wide or the 162?
You are acting like I know the rest of your stats are.
@@AngrySnowboarder 6'4" 210lb advanced. Planning to ride thus at Mt seymour
I bought this board, since I own just one for all mountain, speed and carving because its exactly what you said, stiff and aggressive though when you want to lay back at the end of the day you can just do that. Havent ridden it yet so im very excited to in the upcoming weeks. is carving nice with this board?
Bought one 🔥🔥🔥✨️✨️🙏🏾✨️
What did you think?
Hi Avran, How would the new trs pair with Union Ultras?
Wouldn't be the binding I recommend for it.
What board did you demo or ride? Did you go with the mid-wide? Do you get special dims from the manufacturer?
This is the Libtech TRS review so clearly I rode it and I list what size I rode. I don't know what a DIM is.
@@AngrySnowboarder Golden Orca 153 or TRS 157 MW or 154 Jones Twin Mind Expander for daily driver? If you were the rider?
@@rob_grant None.
@@AngrySnowboarder Normal board for my riding has always been a 156, camber or setback camber, with a radial sidecut. Would really like to enjoy new technology. I will get there someday. Thank you for your good work on your reviews.
This or the Dynamo for an intermediate rider looking for an all mountain board they can grow with?
Dynamo for sure.
@@AngrySnowboarder cheers. Narrowing down to the dynamo, magic bm and k2 passport based on your reviews and googling about (thanks btw, massively appreciate the quality and wish I’d discovered you sooner). Live in Europe so end up on a mix of sheet ice, moguls and sticky pow most of the time. Looking to progress freeride, carving and flat tricks mostly, don’t really ride park. Which of the three would you recommend?
Passport all day.
@@AngrySnowboarder sweet, cheers
Damn, wish I hadn't bought a DOA at the end of last season and gotten this instead.
What do you not like about the DOA? Considering it and this and GNU RC this year
@@patrickmulligan4056 It's not a bad board, I do like it, but for my purposes I think Avran's description of this year's TRS is exactly what I was looking for when I bought the DOA. I already have a BSoD as my hard-charging freeride board and a Box Scratcher as a fun park board. I wanted a board that had the pop of the BSoD (it is super poppy, sends you flying off sidehits, etc and lands super smooth) but that is a bit more playful and maneuverable at slow speeds, and twin shaped instead of directional. The DOA mostly fits that bill, but it also isn't very damp, so for me it's not super fun to ride around the whole mountain. It launces for sure, but I am definitely able to overpower it in hard turns and it does get bucked around a bit in uneven terrain, whereas the BSoD rides over everything and is super locked into turns. In my opinion, DOA is good if you want to spend most of your time in the park and you care more about jumps than jibs.
Based on this video, it sounds like the TRS has all my favorite attributes of the BSoD (damp, poppy, locks into carves) but in a more freestyle twin profile that makes it more viable in the park and can be ridden in a more laid-back fashion when I don't feel like working too hard.
Would you pick the Lib Tech TRS or the capita super DOA ? And why?
Are you buying me a snowboard? That’s nice.
@@AngrySnowboarder yes I am I just wanted to hear your opinion
I don't need a snowboard, but thanks.
@@AngrySnowboarder I Appreciate you putting up this video about the revamped Lib Tech TRS 👍🏼
What’s the difference between this and a dynamo?
Shape, flex, sidecut, taper, basically two different boards.
Union ultra or falcor for this board?
Atlas.
Pow performance trs or dynamo?
Dynamo
Thanks for the review! That C3 is like a booster pack if you load it up or at least it was on my Box Knife.
What’s your take on this year’s Twin Pig?
I’m 6’4” 220 size 13. I got the 56W. I’m using it to ride with my daughter lots of switch so she can fallow me or rock the side hits while taking my time.
Never been a fan of that board.
@@AngrySnowboarder SMH, it was the only wide twin in a local shop after I blundered getting a T Rice Pro in Wide. Unfortunately it seemed to lack life & ride slow at Big Snow. Hopefully a lot of hot wax will get it through the season or there’s a Sasquatch on Marketplace that likes to ride park...
Still getting gear from my friends for Shred!
@@tomjones1967 did you not like the t rice pro wide? Which was better, the twin pig or the t rice pro? Thanks!
How do you like c3 vs c2x?
C3 is like a broken in camber you've ridden for 100 days, it has more pop. c2x is easier to initiate but lacks pop.
I had this board like 12 years ago. It was the most ridiculously reverse cambered thing you've ever seen. When you stood on the tail, the nose lifted up like 4-5 inches off the floor like a seesaw 🤣 Worse board ever for skating one-footed and traversing... before they refined all that tech.
