    Tangled filament might be "potatoes" but it sure is some tasty ones!
    In all seriousness, I managed to get a bunch of rolls of the 850 from your first run and it's really nice. I find myself saving it because it prints so well! I would LOVE if you offered that material again!

    You don't give Tangled enough credit. I have used many brands of filament and Tangled performs better than the best of them. The biggest difference is that I get almost ZERO stringing with Tangled while my go-to name brand will show noticible string on the same model. I do hope that you will offer the clear again. I have some really great ideas for that. The prototypes came out great.

    Can't wait for our onboarding to Teleport! There's a ton of people asking if we can provide prints for our kits and we definitely don't want to be working the print farm for fulfilling those orders. Would love to do a video segment on Teleport when it's available!

    This is amazing news.! I won't be ready for the most interesting parts of it for a few months yet, which'll work out fantastic, but this is a puzzle piece in my game plan... several pieces, actually, and exactly the things for which I've been hoping. Slant3D's about to become a billion dollar company, and that's a Very Good Thing. My mass production dreams are about to be fully realized. I could not be more excited. Awesome news! Well done! Go Boy, Go!

      What type of head?

    • @edwardnardella6854
      @edwardnardella6854 14 дней назад +1

      @@gabebentz5986 I recommend hex cause you can include very cheap allen wrenches, I also recommend a wider and thinner head when possible, this allows for more surface area to support the fastener and being thin allows the fastener to be recessed/countersunk without having to make a deep hole that reduces part strength. For the 1/4 20 thread stuff, this selection is very important, ideally you could get something captive (that is, a narrow shaft between the head and the thread), with a D ring loop that can be unfolded and used to drive it by hand, alternatively a thumb screw.
      If you want something more versatile for the 1/4 20 you can get just hex heads then designers can add a part that turns it into a thumb screw.

    • @edwardnardella6854
      @edwardnardella6854 14 дней назад

      @@gabebentz5986 whatever you choose I recommend staying away from angled countersunk heads, if a design requires a fastener going parallel to layer lines this fastener could easily destroy the part.

    that blue petg you had for glut was amazing! It had your sticker, did your machine make it? - the texture on the filament seems like a brilliant idea seems to feed nicely and not slip, and the surface finish came out silky. Also loved the 3kg black pla. the earlier clear pla is some seriously great material.

    Two comments...
    1. Thangs is the OG object repo, and there's a lot of older models in there that are going to be challenging to print in a way that makes non-3d-printer-owners happy (either because they're oriented oddly, or because the STL has weirdness in the geometry, or even because it's one of those oddball 'imperial units' STLs). I'm not saying that talking to Thangs is a bad idea, but it's probably going to be a high-touch effort (unless you're enrolling models one by one).
    2. Once Upon A Time(tm), the phrase 'potato quality' was a thing; you may not want to identify your product as 'potato filament'.

    I've printed using Tangled filament with "Very Good" results i.e. "Excellent Results" using a (Print Quality/Cost) metric (Both PLA & PETG) Even with the weird surface texture of the Blue Glut PETG is prints w/o issues 100% of the time for the first kg or so. I will be reaching out re series A.

    How can i invest? is it possible for me to throw $1000 in ?
    wait so i dont even need teleport right now, i can just use the etsy plugin? what is teleport then, for the other marketplaces??

    • @davydatwood3158
      @davydatwood3158 14 дней назад

      They've a video that goes into detail but basically: etsy plugin was their first attempt, using a very specific website with very specific parameters to make the problem simpler. Then the Shopify plugin built on the etsy plugin, expanding their base code. And then this let them figure out how to do an app that would work with *every* marketplace, and that's Teleport.
      But changing all the etsy and Shopify stores during the Silly Season would be foolish, so right now they're leaving those two apps alone. Gabe said in a previous podcast that etsy and Shopify will be migrated to Teleport sometime in the new year. I *think* they said they're not accepting new signups for etys or Shopify, but I don't remember with certainty.

    • @davydatwood3158
      @davydatwood3158 14 дней назад +1

      @@Luke-p9p My understanding is that there will be various levels (aka "tiers") of service available, and the base level of "we print your file and put it in a box" will always be free, but some of the extra services will have a subscription cost attached. I don't think they've released any specifics about what the tiers are, what exactly will be included in the base level, nor what the extra services will be or cost.
      But, the answer to your question is "yes, there is a way to not pay a monthly subscription for teleport."
      Now, most of this video was talking about monthly subscriptions for *Tangled,* the low-cost PLA, and if that's what you're asking about - well, I'm afraid I've no answer there. I suspect Slant3D doesn't either since they're not ready to make the formal announcement yet.
      To be clear, I'm not part of Slant3D in any manner, I just saw the question and wanted to help out with the information I got from the videos and Gabe's comment here.

      It's a funding round. They take on investor money by selling an ownership stake to them, like stock on an exchange but the list of investors is small, private, and the amounts are usually large 5-6 figures per investor.
      An investment round also allows an opportunity for owners (previous investors, founders, sometimes early employees) to liquidate their shares.

    I am unsure as to why cults3d doesnt have a Print-and-ship feature, since they offer selling your model on their website it would make so much sense to have a order printed part feature either directly from the designer or through a service like slant3d
