If you skip the dread and realize the only way to fix this problem is to allow them finish themselves off so it can be rebuilt with indie devs and ones that stay as private companies
Me neither, i am not looking forward to it because i am expecting a similar end product like Drag Age: Gayguard, the current industry is way too degenerate and degraded to have any faith in them releasing a good product.
Fallout 76 is good now, sad thing is it took nearly 3 years after relese to make it good, when it had to be good right from the get go. I guess starfield will need 3,4 years to be good too.
I've made mods for Skyrim like 'Realistic Swimming', 'Realistic Skooma', 'SSE Standing Stone Overhaul', 'Reduced Heal Rate', 'Classic RPG Archtypes + NPC Perks', and so on. Without mods, Skyrim would have faded a LONG time ago!
Mods carry the community. Tbh take away skyrim and oblivion, and bethedsa is completely irrelevant. I would have rather they just gave the entire budget to the community to mod the game ourselves
Of course not! Redguards are capital-B Black and they're actually being oppressed by the High Elf Thalmor. Except they'll probably try making the Thalmor sympathetic and morally gray unsung instead of a gnostic cabal of racial supremacists literally trying to unmake reality.
I've never seen a company need to start running damage control at least 5 YEARS before the product in question even releases. Because that's what this is, they're not really worried about "meeting expectations" because gamer standards are so high. They're worried because they KNOW they don't have the talent to make anything on par with Skyrim. Not that Skyrim is perfect or anything, but after Starfield I wouldn't trust them to make the next Barbie game.
I genuinely don't understand how tf they can't manage it. They made fo3 and oblivion under way less staff and resources and those are still heavily regarded today as great classic games of that era. They then released fallout's IP to obsidian who made new vegas arguably better but even if you say it wasnt, its still a great title. Ok so we clearly have the talent there that wanted to do some amazing things, where tf did they all go? Who tf are these new people working on the flop that was starfield? How can you be a multi million dollar company and find the worst possible people to create your games. How are you being outdone by indie devs that sometimes make projects entirely solo. How tf do you have a modding community with more braincells and talent than anyone on your staff? Better question, why tf not hire those extremely talented modders for both the quality of their work AND the fact that they have closer connections to your actual fans than any moronic corporate shill who you can get for a dime a dozen in silicon valley that your paying top dollar for? And last but not least, why does it take me to point this out when I, on the grand scale of everything, am a complete idiot and a nobody in the gaming sphere. It really feels like they have to avtively try to make these franchizes suck.
@@masonlaw7628 Dude. I put 175 hours into Starfield thinking "Ok the fun has to be RIGHT around the next corner... ok around the next corner.. ok maybe the next one.." until I'd done everything, and was left asking every single question you just brought up. It's a SHOCKING level of incompetence across the board, top to bottom. I think the broadest possible answer, that isn't good enough, but is the basis for beginning to answer the question: Lack of passion. I think most people working in mainstream games production nowadays only got into the industry because they went to college to learn how to do whatever was in high demand, and that was game development. They're not in the industry out of love for the art or pushing boundaries. It's "clock in, do what I'm told, clock out". And I think to make good games, you need people who are constantly thinking outside the box, to make games that are different. Not just cookie cutter parts of other games we've already seen. And that type of person doesn't seem welcome in the industry currently.
@@masonlaw7628 Look at the teams behind those older titles and nearly every person who made those games has moved on and been replaced with novice, d e i conditioned replacements bringing the dreaded toxic positivity element to newer games. Any game they release here on will just be Ubisoft 2.0. They backed themselves in a corner supporting the d e i mental illness and are now trapped because if they fire this new generation of devs they will be called out as all those buzzwords they are so afraid of being labeled. Bethesda is in its slow deth spiral.
Yeah, a good plot and they should finish that first before adding in all the extra stuff. Whether or not people care about main storyline, it should be a good one without leaving things out due to time constraints. (I would say 13 years should be enough, right?)
@@sunbear9374 13 years to ride on the succes and think of new things, 6 years, according to this video, of working on it. Sounds like a long time to me, my friend.
Did I miss you playing Fallout London? I worked on 2D and audio for London, so thanks for playing. We also quoted your Starfield rant many times while on work.
Their only cash cow now is Elder Scrolls Online, I'm a huge fan but it is losing traction and, quite honesty, getting woke. The NPCs in any race are disproportionately female and I even stumbled on some quests "for modern audiences", like the lesbian orc trying to scissor her adopted sister and the bigoted family summoning demons to "take away the gay" from her. Or the flamboyant dude who tries to save his husband from a werewolf cult and spends all the time fanning around for you to save his man...
The problem with Starfield, they really tried to please everyone, in order to do so they made the game so shallow, it pleased no one. And I am pretty sure this is the foundation they expected to build ES6 on.
The massive success of Skyrim taught them the wrong lessons. It was a more streamlined RPG experience than their previous games, and people ate it up across the board. That led to them removing more and more RPG details from each progressive release, culminating in Starfield. And on top of that, Starfield didn't even have the exploration that made Fallout 4 fun in spite of its many shortcomings. The woke stuff probably would have been overlooked (as it generally is in Baldur's Gate 3) if Starfield was good.
@@sternencolonel7328 i felt that when It came to starfield when you first start playing its awesome and shiny, but at about hour 30 it starts to really get old quick. For instance the pronoun shtick at the very beginning is almost completely ignored as the game is fresh, but after 30 hours of hitting the same cryo lab in multiple systems and you get to the generational ship and a old clearly not straight guy is saying he's basically the ships old Jewish grandmother... at that point I set the controller down and walk away. Let's not even talk about the random encounters like a school ship appearing all the way on the other end of the galaxy having equipment trouble... or nearly every system aside from ship customization being a lesser version of something that came before... I mean just look at weapon customization... its a stripped lesser version of fallout weapon customization... point being starfield is a ocean wide and a puddle deep.
I disagree, they just completely sucked. Sure there was social pandering, but the game was so badly put together and soulless, because they just didn't care to put the effort in, or they are just bad at it.
“Almost impossible to meet expectations!” In my work experience that translates to “I really don’t want to put in the effort and would rather just do what worked before. Customers will still buy it and that’s all that’s important really.”
As long as they don't lock down mods (which I'll remind everyone, they tried w/Skyrim at one point) then the game will be salvaged by the community. It may take several years, but they'll do it.

This. All i hear from people when TES6 is brought up, is "im worried", "it's gonna suck", "it's not even on my radar", "meh", "can Bethesda even make a good game anymore?", and various versions thereof. To rub it in real good; It could not even meet the standards of Daggerfall Unity When a big studio is challenged by a man with a laptop in a garage, one has to wonder how many old school vidya game bros have influence, and how many HR Karen hires infest the creative and professional environment. This is an industry built with a clear dudebro niche in mind, and that is just how it is, trying to ramrod tokenism and "uuuh you cant say or think that" attitudes into a genuinely artistic industry results in the sims 4 or FIFA, slop for the peasantry that becomes culturally irrelevant to anyone but addicts and autists. Of course it is no longer enough to make a product and sell it, the economy is in recession, so you gotta get activist investors onboard, like Blackrocks BS initatives, thus, new games are by default, screwed, and thus have an even worse reception in the market, the endless negative feedback loop of bloat, anyone that is not directly involved with the product, has basically attatched themselves like parasites to an industry.
@@biohazerdtrollztrolls4798 fallout 4 was a major disappointment for me. The voiced protagonist made the main character very one dimensional most of the time. And the factions were really just underwhelming. To the point where I only find the ending fun when the minutemen being the only group standing. I do not like that. Also over 30 of the “unique locations” were settlements. Settlements take up space that could’ve been unique locations or areas but no and it ended up making the map feel even smaller.
@@thomasrial4444 i mean yea i agree i just did not care for many ret cons to reuse content in a new way because the devs had no clue of old lore. example 01 armor set in nuka world.... is a great example. considering the 01 armor did not really exist pre war and thats in older game lore...... it was created post war by a spesific in game mentioned faction butttt lets ret con it and make it prewar tech so we can use it in nukaworld instead of making somthing actually new. But this is bethesda mo to do this as they reuse assets from there games constantly and dont care for lore. Example in ES 6 we will prob have somthing big to fight that will use the dragons code from skyrim and have the same flying backwards and upside down bugs like they did with blighted beasts in FO76 where it was just a skyrim dragon with a new skin mesh and had same bugs dragons had on release of skyrim.... The devs do not care and have never cared post oblivion about us. Then starfeild really made the masochism and copium bethesda fans have sink in when they were basically screaming *bethesda please piss down our backs more and whisper in our ears its just rain* It baffles me how people still love bethesda when they activly SHIT on there fan base with the 76 fiasco's and people still love them for it. PS in the days of FONV and oblivion i was a massssssive fan boy of the studio but skyrim legit made me walk away. When modders did more for the game in 3 months than the studio did in 3 years of development. not saying skyrim is a bad game but its only good because of mods lol
Honestly my expectations after fallout 4, fallout 76, and Starfield, are pretty much rock bottom, and I think the modding community as largely lost interest. The kids working at these places don't know how to write or create good fun games any more. They are too obsessed with inserting their ideologies, lecturing, and also of course self inserting themselves into the crap they produce. The people that made companies like Bethesda, Blizzard, Bungie, Bioware, etc are all long gone now. It is funny how much they try to pander to people who generally don't buy or play their games.
There are over 8600 mods for Starfield on Nexus right now, and hundreds being added per week. I’m not saying the game is great, but the idea that modders have given up on it is just silly at this point. There are enough problems with Starfield to critique it on its own merits instead of going back to that article for, a year ago when basically one modder said he was going to stop making mods for it. 🤦🏻♂️😂
many of these people who work there now probably grew up enjoying bethesda games. Now that they've joined the company, they're treating the IPs like fan fiction, and fan fiction is typically written for the gratification of the author, not because they want others to enjoy it.
Loved Skyrim, but I seriously doubt ES6 will be good. Woke shit is ruining everything today, and people aren't as forgiving as earlier when it comes to releasing a buggy mess, which Bugthesda always do.
True, especially considering that Bethesda's game engine traces it's roots back to NetImmerse (release in 1997) which should have been either retired or completely rebuilt around Morrowind. Instead, they keep desperately bolting on features (and tends to be done poorly - looking at you DX12 3D code in Starfield).
It's insane that I didn't buy, or play, a new Bethesda IP. I just didn't care about it. I want another ES or FO, but Todd, in Todd wisdom, said 'HE' didn't want to be known as the studio who only makes ES and FO...so we got something we didn't ask for, or want, which a lot of us didn't buy...
They kinda should be. They need to realize, putting in the bare minimum effort is not going to sell their game. Especially after they released Starfield and Fallout 76 prior

@@Kiryu_Kazuma01 Absolutely, I'm in full agreement. Skyrim never needed PR. The modders would do that for them and, if we're honest, finish development. One of the reasons there were so many mods of Skyrim / Fallout was because people just knew how the code / engine worked because it has'nt changed! Skyrim made money, I think would be a fair thing to say. Time to upgrade from the Morrowind system Bethesda pretends it's not using.

I watched the video by Jonah Lobe, an ex-Bethesda 3d modeler, where he interviews 9 other ex-devs who worked on Skyrim with him. It seemed to me like all the talented devs who gave a damn about making incredible experiences left long ago. Starfield kind of confirms that
13-14 years later I am still playing Skyrim, Oblivion, and Morrowind. Me to, playing Skyrim. On my old laptop (because my newer one crapped out), I am having fun. Usually I play a blank character going in first time, to get a feel for the game. Second time I try something different. Subsequent play-throughs are different from the previous ones. That’s replayability. As I got SSE in 2018, I’ve played the Nord archer, the Orc fighter and the Breton mage. But I haven’t played the Kajjit thief or the Imperial assassin yet. It’ll be fun to not eliminate the Dark Brotherhood and play through their quest line. Btw, I got curious about the Thief’s Guild, so my Orc fighter went through this quest line. It didn’t make sense for my Breton mage to become a thief. 😂
Oblivion is my favourite far better quests and more immersive game world. But Skyrim has native controller support and I only game with a controller and only on a pc
They already killed my spirit for its story by making us wait 15 years. I hear about wokeness in the reviews I'll never play or buy one again. But they will. Todd Howard is a complete tool
This is how I've felt since Fallout 4. That game alone was a portent of things to come; just more of Bethesda trying to squeeze nonexistent droplets of new ideas out of the creation engine, which with Fallout 4 was already showing its age... and Starfield proved it, functioning essentially like a professionally done Fallout 4 total conversion mod instead of a wholly separate game... but with so much more 'new' stuff, came so much new bugs, which meant bugfixes, to the point where even the obviously dedicated and talented Skyrim/Fallout modders said, 'no thanks'. There's no way TES6 or Fallout 5 are any better if they're still on the creation engine... even if they have a bazillion preorders and sell millions of copies. Might as well just re-re-re-re-re-release Skyrim again instead.
Yeah that stuck out to me from the very first gameplay footage I saw. At no point was I even remotely compelled to loiter my cursor anywhere near the purchase button after seeing how ugly it was.
Not likely. He didn't even flinch with the Fallout 76 backlash. If you think Todd Howard or Pete Hines actually care, then I have beachfront property in Arizona for you.
Jesus Christ all they gotta do is fire their writers , use design documents and put as much effort in as they did with Morrowind , oh no Bethesda effort scary.
Skyrim quality, Morrowind choice. Combine the two and you get a sandbox people actually want. Instead it got shelved for a ridiculously long time for some reason that I've never really been able to figure out. Even without what happened with Starfield, my interest in a new title at this stage is now pretty much non existent.
Elder Scrolls Online is the reason. Todd Howard said it himself, they didn't want to create a new single player game because it would take players away from their online ES game and all they want is a constant income stream.

The New Vegas thing is worse than that. Less than 24 hours before the deadline the score was above 85, and only dropped with some last minute reviews. Combined with the fact that Bethesda was contractually responsible for QA and let it ship in the state it was in and most people believe purposeful manipulation of the score occurred.

Nah Bethesda is owned by Microsoft. However there is a chance of mass layoffs or them just closing the studio. Bethesda no longer makes games for the fans or customers, they make the games for themselves. The same problem with Hollywood and pretty much any artistic endeavor these days. Blows my freaking mind that everyone has become so narcissistic now instead giving, sharing, creating, loving. It's all now, "ME, ME, ME, ME, ME!!!" Evil can only destroy and distort what good forces have created, and cannot create anything new.
With Elder Scrolls 6 there is one other problem besides targeting the "modern audience" which are journos who cant even tie their shoelaces properly to save their lives. The name of said problem is the Creation engine which to be fair is just as outdated as Bethesda Softworks game design at this point in time considering its origins date back to Morrowind mind you. And Starfield is clear proof that they need to either overhaul it completely in contrary to them being lazy about adding few things and calling it a brand new engine or ditch it completely and switch to for example UE. Both solutions have the inherited problem of simple fact that Bethesda Softworks may not have anyone skilled to do either of those things and those who can are probably the 1% of the dev team. Its not like CDPR situation where a lot of their current staff has experience with Unreal Engine so Witcher 4 is made on UE5 instead of Red engine 4.
@@Deathwalker666666 They are too greedy to share the profit with UE. Although UE is the ultimate choice, because it takes so many problems away. And devs can concentrate on a story and aesthetics.
@@alekseimutovkin Technically speaking its MS choice now since its clear that with recent layoffs they will probably be a bit more stingy with $$. But the biggest problem with changing to UE5 is probably the lack of devs that know the engine its not like for example CDPR who can switch to UE5 for the next Witcher game because' A' a lot of their current staff have actual experience with UE and 'B' the said staff also has a lot of experience in Red Engine development and Cyberpunk 2077 on PC with Raytracing on or not is clear statement that they are capable of doing that. Also there is a problem with UE5 itself because its still fairy young so there a lot of things to work out like stutters in open world games. And bethesda softworks with their "development" of Creation Engine proves they are not capable of that.
@@Deathwalker666666 Yes. Exactly. UE5 is different. And if there is an issue, then they'd have to contact the UE team to solve the problem or change something. So they do not have 100% control over how the game will work and how they'd add new features. However, I still think that if you are serious about making a GOOD game, you can use UE. Look at Talos Principle 2. In the end I don't care if it is UE or Creative Engine... I want a good game. And UE is quite capable of pulling it off.
I predict Elder Scrolls is gonna go full WOTC and replace "Race" as Kindred or Species. Make Orcs and Redguards the same because Orcs always have to equal Black People no matter what according to the "non-racist". The fan favorite lusty Argonian Maid is actually about a trans Argonian who switched genders to have (not) geyseggs with his master. Oh and to encourage players to definitely not cheat or use exploits, they will lock every basic feature behind skill tree unlocks like Starfield, such as jumping with a jetpack. Want to sneak? I knew video games were a lost cause when I realized that the people marketing them and gobbling it up want to play themselves in an RPG. In a game about being able to create whatever role you feel like in order to enjoy a virtual world you choose to be yourself It's extremely narcissistic
Honestly, what do they expect people will want? Just literally do Skyrim's gameplay loops again, but in a bigger map in a different part of the world, with updated graphics. How hard is it? They found a sweet spot with Skyrim, what more do they think they need to refine or streamline? AC style wall climbing or something?
Very few talented people are happy just 'changing names and settings'. They want to make something all their own. Curiously, very few hacks are happy just 'changing names and settings' either... they ALSO want to make something their own, but their vision is terrible. There's a sweet spot in the middle of unambitious no-name paycheck collectors, but they're usually co-opted to do all the updating game from old consoles to new consoles and the like (and not the big names either, just the ones that happen without any publicity).
The problem with that is there isn't a bigger map, skyrim, cyrodiil and morrowind are the biggest areas in tamriel. The only thing they can do at this point is break the world rules and invent a bigger area or combine a few areas together like highrock/hammerfell. That might work.
@@shaunmarshall4504 Exactly. The game's overriding main story arc shouldn't need to be confined to a single province. Considering how it always seems to be built around world changing and earth shattering threats, TES6 calls for an epic quest that stretches across continents, each filled with interesting side stories, memorable characters and nameless npcs alike, and as many hidden secrets and dungeons as Daggerfall, all bound together with solid, reliable gameplay loops that have already proven to be quite successful. I wasn't really joking about the climbing; Daggerfall even had some janky climbing mechanics. Make it "just work" and we could be leaping across rooftops in larger cities, with those mechanics leveraged for more dynamic dungeon delving and spelunking down seemingly bottomless pits to hunt monsters or ubearth fabled lost treasures. But how often do we ever even see anything hidden behind a waterfall anymore? Barely even any environmental storytelling of a fallen explorer that took a wrong step, or a miner crushed by a cave-in. I feel like they've simply become so bogged down with the technical aspect that they stopped seeing the true potential of such a game, the ambition. They've allowed a fear of failure to make them stop taking risks, and keep playing it safe. You saw that Elder Scrolls clone/skin of Fallout Shelter, right, called Castles? Even for a mobile game I immediately thought "ooh, cool, an empire building strategy game...!" and was sorely disappointed as I watched the trailer play.
@erq96 I enjoyed Fallout 4, despite it's simplified dialog and choices system. It's still way more enjoyable than most games coming out these days. The combat, settlement building and some of the companions were really good. Curie, Danse, Hancock were all very interesting and engaging.
@@johannesschmitz6370 Skyrim was a flashy game that was a thousand miles wide and an inch deep. Morrowind and Oblivion make Skyrim look like it was made by a child, and mentally, that probably isn't far off for modern Bethesda. If they wanted a good game, they'd go back to the roots.
It is impossible to fulfill their customer’s expectations, because our expectations were to have this 10 years ago. They managed to released two for the ps3, I’m sure they could have launched one for the ps4.
Bethesda's open world is cancer. It was borderline dead in Fallout 3. Starfield's procedural generation is a logical progression of loot zones composed from a small list of assets you saw in FO3 where every building is the same and every cave is the same and so on. And no one liked it.

There's literally no easier job than making a satisfying TES VI. Take the last 2 or 3 entries, mix 'em up, add a better script engine and hire better writers. It could not be an easier layup.
Literally just give us Skyrim 1.5 with double the map size scattered with a variety of dungeons, castles and towers. There is NO need to reinvent hot water.
Except dont do anything Skyrim, just oblivion and morrowind. Unpopular opinion: skyrim isnt that great and has the worst story, script and world building out of all the games.
@@MrMasterKaioThere's nothing besides perk trees that Skyrim did which the other entries didn't already do though. The opposite actually, more features have been removed than added. Skyrim was a great game, but Oblivion had a better more complex combat system that didn't just rely on kill cams to make satisfying, it had bigger more believable cities and a better magic system with more spells. All skyrim did better was graphics and the aforementioned perk trees, in every other aspect I can think of, the next elderscrolls would only be better for following the examples of TES games pre Skyrim. I could go on to talk about the aspects Morrowind did better too but I believe I've proved my point already.
@@lfcmike12 I'm just saying, seeing that skyrim is the most popular TES game by far, they need to make the new TES somewhat like skyrim, which would make it more likely to see similar levels of success.
17:11 I have literally nothing in common with CJ, but GTA San Andreas is one of the best games ever made. It’s entirely possible to enjoy a video game without seeing yourself represented. Bethesda needs to come-out stating this to put these ideologues in their place.
Men can do that, women can't. Women need to self insert themselves into anything and everything which is why video gaming is trash when it comes to women bring involved in their creation.
I, too, have nothing in common with Gordon Freeman, Doom guy, Arthur Morgan or Geralt of Rivia, and I still enjoyed those games immensely. These people want fiction to represent their most realistic selves (down to the most unflattering traits), while everyone else wants to play a better (or at least different) version of themselves. Most people enjoy fiction for the things they are not, and the things they can't do IRL.
I remember GTA SA. I was actually disappointed. I still played it. But out of all the GTA games, i played that one the least. I don't find ghetto black culture interesting. I couldn't relate to any of it. I grew up in a majority black city in Michigan. Where i was the minority. I didn't like growing up in that city, so i didn't like playing it.
@@sallybags9090 Same, bought it opening day been a GTA fan since GTA2. I too felt the black thug thing was a downgrade because they're shit criminals. They're not the mob, russians, or cartel...they're the idiots who basically walk around with giant signs saying "arrest me" then cry racism when they do. The game does somewhat portray that as well towards the end with the riots (a nod to the LA riots). But GTA:SA was good because it had so damn many features. 2004 was a great year for games: SWBF, GTA:SA, MGS3, Madden wasn't shit yet, etc.
i'm still playing skyrim, and i'm totally ready to keep playing it instead of ES6 when it releases with not just surgery scars and pronouns, but boring dialog, dull character personalities, butchered lore, and D.I.E.
Bethesda will probably promise a battle ready sword made of real steel... which will then be revelaed to be a rusted piece of plastice... and before you say plastic cant rust.... it IS bethesda.
And yet the halls will be packed with expectant, wide eyed buyers waiting for God Tod to expound his wisdom about ES6 and they'll lap it up and open their wallets. People get what they deserve.
Anyone seen that channel sidek? There is a series, "killing nazeem every day until elder scrolls 6 is released". It's around day 1,105 or 6. Dedicated fan.
The fact they release a tv series and fail to have any kind of new FO4 stuff to buy shows you great Todd the plod is at his job. Todd Howard must be the worse kind of guy to run a company. Just imagine what someone who was actually talented or good at their job could of done with fallout and elder scrolls over the past 20years. What a waste of time from Todd and the money men behind him, they should all be ashamed TBH
The elder scrolls universe already has racism and slavery in it. But it isn’t real world propaganda. It has been made believable and works for the game. Same with other political things. They thing they REALLY need to avoid is bringing in the gay/ldbtq stuff. Leave it ALL out. It could’ve worked if they did it right in Starfield but they didn’t. If it is, keep it simple like increasing your one follower (and yes I mean on gay follower) by flirting with them, that works. It would be organic and actually useful within the game world. It would serve a purpose rather than being there just to spread gay awareness. But REALLY leave out everything else about gender politics. I don’t want to see a purple haired green haired Khajit that identifies as an argonian or a giant nord male identifying as a female to compete in the arena against female competitors.
It’s just funny cause you can be gay and I like that. I like that I can marry or be with women in Bethesda games and Cait even jokes about having a threesome with piper. So there’s gay stuff in there but it’s not shoved down your throat which people like.
@@danielbroome5690 apples to oranges my friend. Yes I think that is good because it is messed up and fits within the world. It isn’t propaganda to clone yourself and marry yourself lol. Plus, he is one of the only ways to get Daedric armor so you as a player have a moral choice to off him and steal it or play nice but let him live even though he is messed up. It’s organic in the world. Not preachy for the sake of modern politics.
@@danielbroome5690 plus, next time read my entire statement. You’ll see I basically said we don’t need lgbtq propaganda within games. Make it organic. Arcade Gannon in new Vegas is gay and he is an awesome companion. I actually unintentionally made my character bisexual via ladykiller/ black widow perks. Surprisingly, it made the game great. I could do more damage to both genders (yes two) and also flirt with either or to progress quests. Starfield does it for the sake of making sure it is in there for esg score and that’s it.
I spent thousands of hours in Skyrim and also hope the new Elder Scrolls turns out great. However, looking at a TV series like Halo, even with a softball toss to Paramount Studios, they utterly destroyed Master Chief. Likewise, with this softball to Bethesda, if they just updated Skyrim with a similarly fantastic sound track and hand crafted dungeons and quests, Bethesda can make this happen. But, I'm pretty sure they will destroy it because it will be made for "modern audiences".

Good storyline: the frost elves redemption. You enter the world as a hero (and maybe give the player the option to play as a fallen frost elf) that is thrown into a storyline that restores the entire race.

They're done. ES6 will suck as they will use the same old creation engine as before but with a few tweaks. Just because it's elder scrolls doesn't mean Bethesda will change their "The games optimized, it's your PC" doubling down and blaming. Their days of making great games died after Skyrim and FO4.

My buddy and I replayed Skyrim and Fallout 4 before starfield released and we realized now without the rose tinted glasses of us being kids and even with HEAVY modding we have come to realize that Bethesda has always been lazy in gameplay and writing. We knew Starfield was going to flop months before it released. There is a trend too Bethesda’s quality goes down with each release because Oblivion was great but it kept getting worse and worse.
Hate to be the negative Nancy, but they aren’t going to get it right.

If you skip the dread and realize the only way to fix this problem is to allow them finish themselves off so it can be rebuilt with indie devs and ones that stay as private companies

Bethesda's best days are 100% BEHIND THEM. Look at the last couple of years
Far, far behind them.
To be fair both 76 and Starfield didn't follow the Bethesda formula of a hand crafted open world.
@@toshtao1 their last handcrafted world was Fallout 4 which is where allot of Bethesdas criticism started.
Look at everything they did post skyrim v1.

I feel that way about Baldur's Gate 3..
DEI will just complain about not being enough Red Guards in Skyrim. We already know how infected the gaming industry is now.
Starfield should have been a single star system with like 10 worlds or something that you could actually fly to.
Totally agree. Should have been our system all hand made with unique point of interests.

The only way Bethesda survives, is if Tod leaves the company.
It's going to be woke. You know it. I know it. They/them know it too.
They are part of MS now, so yes. They don't even have a choice in the matter, daddy MS will demand it.
If the main protagonist isn't a black, lesbian, trans, polyamorous, quadriplegic female then what even the point of it existing?
It'll cost them extra to take them out and fix the character creation screens, but it still doesn't guarantee a good, or even decent game.
At least mods will remove the woke 💩
What do you mean by that?
And starfields characters were so damn butt ugly, the companions and the rando NPCs.

@@joelreis5366 Zero chance they straight up close the studio, they purchased the company for a lot of money. They could just fire most of the staff and/or hire new leaders pretty easily and get the same effect without rocking the boat too much. The writer who wrote the fo4 story probably shouldn't be lead writer again that's for sure.
Microsoft may well merge Obsidian and Bethesda, putting Obsidian in charge.
@@Deathwalker666666 totally agreed!

They found a sweet spot with Skyrim, what more do they think they need to refine or streamline? AC style wall climbing or something?
They should bring back classes and attributes
Very few talented people are happy just 'changing names and settings'. They want to make something all their own. Curiously, very few hacks are happy just 'changing names and settings' either... they ALSO want to make something their own, but their vision is terrible. There's a sweet spot in the middle of unambitious no-name paycheck collectors, but they're usually co-opted to do all the updating game from old consoles to new consoles and the like (and not the big names either, just the ones that happen without any publicity).
Literally that's all they need to do, keep the woke modern shit out of It and it will do fine.

Bethesda's open world is cancer. It was borderline dead in Fallout 3. Starfield's procedural generation is a logical progression of loot zones composed from a small list of assets you saw in FO3 where every building is the same and every cave is the same and so on. And no one liked it.

To get away with stuff like this and still have (even those who usually are sceptical of something like this) be happy, or at lest disgruntledly admit *_"its allright i guess, hmpf"_* , with the game, you have to be genre-defining, paradigm shiftingly good.

It’s just funny cause you can be gay and I like that. I like that I can marry or be with women in Bethesda games and Cait even jokes about having a threesome with piper. So there’s gay stuff in there but it’s not shoved down your throat which people like.

Concession…will be applicable prior to contracts.
Bold of you to assume it will be released at all...I wish that was cope. We live in that kind of timeline.
I...have no expectations. Well not...good ones anyways.
The company is taken by DEI, it's not remotely the same company who made Skyrim 15 years ago. I'll be amazed if it turns out to be a very good game.
Let not forget Microsoft writing the checks now, you can be sure it'll be DEI infested.
Good storyline: the frost elves redemption. You enter the world as a hero (and maybe give the player the option to play as a fallen frost elf) that is thrown into a storyline that restores the entire race.
I will NEVER buy a creation engine game again. They need stop milking that janky relic.
Agreed! If they are using the Creation Engine yet again with The Elder Scrolls VI, I'm already disappointed...
Modders create Fallout London FOR FREE: Bethesda responds by releasing a patch that turns Fallout 4 into a buggy pile of guano!
Tes 6 = Woke, Outdated with Bugs
wither 3 and skyrim are like 4 4,5 yrs seperated and look how each look brah even crysis 1-2 looks better graphicaly than skyrim at release
Woke for the win
I REALLY hope it's good, having come back to Skyrim recently... And yeah, Skyrim has its dull or clunky elements, but it's cozy and there's a lot of stuff to get into!
FYI: your camera’s color balance is fluctuating due to the intensity of the color changing LEDs in the background saturating the histogram and fooling your camera into thinking the color balance of the key light is changing. If you use a fixed white balance option in your camera’s settings, this problem will go away. More kitties 🙏🏻please
60.6 hours and I haven't touched Starfield since 9/13/2023
@@Funeral_Tango yup I was trying to find something good...
Make sure to cut me a check for those “leaked” DMs. 😉
Jk glad our chats could help provide some context on how you didn’t go into Starfield expecting to dislike it.
despite current opinion i feel like most of us had high hopes leading up to starfield. im a long time bethesda and elder scrolls fan and i bought the digital deluxe edition for the same reasons. i dont think TES is beyond saving, but it would need a big shift is philosophy from the higher ups at bethesda and now microsoft i suppose. kirkbride's absurdity is some of my favourite writing of any game franchise, i hope for a return of the stranger parts of TES lore. thanks for helping clear up the "controversy" of az's opinions.
Bethesda better not drop the scroll
They're done.
ES6 will suck as they will use the same old creation engine as before but with a few tweaks.
Just because it's elder scrolls doesn't mean Bethesda will change their "The games optimized, it's your PC" doubling down and blaming.
Their days of making great games died after Skyrim and FO4.
Their days of making good games died after consoomers refused to have ANY standards and acted like absolute drones.
You all did this to yourselves.
We warned you for a decade.
"Nuhhhhhhh leTTT dEMmmm COokKK."
You're cooked... All of you.
They were already slipping by the time FO4 released. After 76, which thank god I didn't buy, I've written them off completely.
@@Fiddleslip We warned you to hold them to account before it was too late. You didn't listen.
F4 was not a great game, the last one was Skyrim
@@argoniek6801 that game is still broken
Bethesda talks to us like I talked to my exes. If you have low expectations you'll love me.
TES: Daggerfall - follow the Bethesda Formula: doing fine
TES: Morrowwind - follow the Bethesda formular and refine it: doing better
TES: Oblivion - follow the BEthesda formular and refine: success
Fallout 3 - follow the Bethesda formular and refine it: success
TES: Skyrim - follow the Bethesda formular and refine it: great success
Fallout 4 - change the Bethesda formular slightly: still success
Fallout 76 - disregard the formular: failure
Starfield - disregard the formular, travel from box to box with long laoding screens and add politics: failure
After what happened after starturd, I do not have much hope for ES6.
Khajit has wares if you have treats.
Is your Cats name Mr. Bigglesworth?
