the reason why zenith is absurdly op is because by the time you've crafted the zenith in vanilla, you literally have nothing stronger than ML to fight, so it doesn't matter if zenith outshines every other vanilla weapon by a long shot. ofc in calamity post-ml content exists and it has to be retiered
Yes I know, I’m just saying that it’s funny that somehow ReLogic managed to pick numbers that resulted in the overall DPS of the weapon to literally perfectly line up with all the other auric tier weapons. There were no balance changes necessary to give it a kill time that’s exactly in the sweet spot for what should be expected from auric tier weapons (not shown in the video since I was using a nohit loadouts which obviously drastically cuts kill times)

yeah the sword is cool and all but like there should still be a early post moonlord zenith called the broken/chained zenith with nerfed damage and the original one without i frames should be called unbound/true/unchained zenith and also i dont think we have a true "final melee weapon" like the scarlet devil so maybe the what im lovingly calling the unchained zenith will be apart of the unholy mess of a crafting recipe(we do have earth the arc weapons and exoblade but those are short craftables almost the same as the original zenith in terms of length why not include all of them) an unholy super overpowered sword that risen up from the depths of a neuclear sludge pit and im not talking about the acid biome

I kinda hate the fact that Auric Tesla tier and Dev tier items are underused due to them being obtainable only near the end, so unless devs plan to add post boss rush content, it will have low amount of usage other than lighting things up

Hold on now, the Zenith I have can do only up to 800 damage in crits(over 1500 with banners), and it have the best melee damage accessories in the game- how is this man doing that much damage.
Just to clarify, he is using the Zenith without the mod touching the Zenith's base damage of 190, and since this weapon test is a no-hit, you can bet that he is using a damage-focused build with calamity mod accessories like the Elemental Gauntlet (the upgraded version of Fire Gauntlet) along with other damage-increasing accessories.
You'd basically be set for the rest of the entire mod. I think it takes either Star Fury or Meowmere so Zenith can be made seemingly right after Moon Lord.
The AotC is trash compared to something like Nadir, less effort to use and more damage. AotC is only better in multihit situations or multiple bosses, which are rare.

i see the fact that this shreds it as a bad thing. this is because if the zenith, a weapon you can get from the start of post moonlord, can destroy the final boss as if it was a late endgame weapon, will surely destroy all of the other post moonlord bosses too
i think that the calamity zenith should be made out of shadowspec bars and not auric bars because it looks like its on the same tier as elemental excalibur and it would be cool to have it as the final endgame sword

I agree because Zenith is post Moon Lord, Zenith is too much overpower to be a weapon for the progression, because of this is pretty useless, you dont have challengers like bosses to beat with the Zenith, and is same useless in mods that nerf Zenith like Fargos Souls, but make this more strong version after defeat Mutant, turning it endgame again with true potentional. This mean that Zenith never get overpower for the progression, because or is endgame, or is nerfed.

as somehow who has played the mod at the time you mention, im guessing around DoG-Yharon tier... ish. that's about the amount of damage i was doing at that point. definitely not viable against SCal though, other auric weapons were doing 200K MINIMUM iirc (which was then effectively reduced heavily by SCal's damage reduction). so yeah. kinda miss those days lmao
I built a box with the same dimensions as scal’s arena out of shadow painted stratus bricks, then filled in all the rest area all the way to the edge of my screen. Aside from just looking neat, this also prevents me from accidentally teleporting out of the arena with the rod of discord, and additionally immediately explodes any of scal’s hellblasts or gigablasts that come in from the side of the screen during bullethells, meaning there’s less homing projectiles for me to worry about.

Zenith's biggest advantage over many Calamity weapons is that it is very consistent, maintaining a high hit concentration compared to other weapons.
