Hi Asia & BJ! You can't go wrong with Ambrosia. "Holdin' on to Yesterday", "Biggest Part of Me", and "How Much I Feel" were all hot on the charts back in the day. This falls under the category of "Soft" or "Yacht" rock.
They have done How Much I Feel already
Yes to all of the above
My 3 favourite hits of theirs as well 👍👍👍
Yeah! What Angela Goodwin said. She got it right. She suggested the musts. I like seeing you enjoy songs I've loved for years.
Definitely need to hear “Holdin’ On To Yesterday”…. David Pack is the lead vocalist and he has a great voice…
David Pack’s voice is stunning! So smooth. Then the organ, saxophone and the harmony! Stellar!!
Before auto tune. Pure talent.
You're right. Some songs seems perfect to me. This is one of them. Nothing out of place.
Asia & BJ, you’ll love their "How Much I Feel" and "Biggest Part of Me" !
They have done How Much I Feel already
@@metalmark1214 really, they just did it tonight! 7/22/22.
If you haven't already reviewed it, "You're The Biggest Part of Me" is another hit from Ambrosia and a personal favorite of mine.
Ambrosia, Poco, Firefall, Exile, the Fabulous Burrito Brothers, Little River Band, Pure Prairie League and many other 70's-early 80's bands had this, what I call "Southern Country Soul". They specialized in multi harmony Love 💕 songs. And yes you may have heard it in a doctor's office. When "elevator" music became something other than over orchestrated instrumental pop covers and became real music, Adult Contemporary or what most people call Soft Rock became background music in offices, elevators and malls. And all those guys fit that category. Go a little more Southern and you get Atlanta Rhythm Section and some of the other rockin' country bands from the early to mid 80's. Like Desert Rose Band, Little Texas, Shenandoah and others.
Gotta put Player in that group as well.
Welcome to the World of Yacht Rock This track is on my top ten Yacht rock list along with all things TOTO, Steely and lets not forget Michael McDonald's voice was just about on anything that was big in this genre and the one that started it all Christopher Cross Ill turn you on to others when you revisit The 80's you just scratched the surface.
These dudes have great vocals...all of their tunes
This is what smooth pop music was all about. I still have this on a 45. The 70s had some of the best easy going pop music. Bands like this, bread, Pablo cruise, and player.
You're getting into the "sweet spot" of music from this era. LOVE IT!!
Everyone has slept on this excellent group. Earlier in the 70s they started out as a prog-rock band, and by the late 70s and early 80s they were the kings of Adult Contemporary with a soul flavor. Their tunes still hold up - not everything does from that specific time. It was an interesting time, don't get me wrong, but it was a confused time, too - people were figuring out the new sounds. Ambrosia stuck with what already worked.
Some of them worked with Alan Parsons Project & Bruce Hornsby also.
"Biggest Part of Me" is one of my favorites, "How Much I Feel", "Holdin' onto Yesterday" are some of their best. Ambrosia has alot of soul in their music and to hear the range of David Pack, react to "Holdin' Onto Yesterday."
Beautiful song. B.J. felt it in his heart.. Love to see you both loving a tune.
Yes, Ambrosia aka "Necter of the Gods," I have the Original release of "One Eighty" on Cassette, also have this on CD. The next song after "You're the only Woman" is "The Biggest part of Me." I transcribed both and showed my Guitar student Frank as his lady loves Ambrosia! Their Vocal Harmonys are Excellent, Love their use of Major & Minor7th Chords. They were initially a Progressive Rock group willing to experiment in search of their sound and found fame with Quality produced Ballads. Thank you both for giving this great group a listen. Peace!
Ambrosia is touring right know as we speak! React to a few more and then go catch a show, they're uncommonly good! Their song "You're The Biggest Part Of Me" should be the next one you react to, you'll love it for sure.
Great band, all their songs are so good, smooth. I remember as a kid my mom’s favorite was How Much I Feel, and when he said, “feel for you baaaaby” she would close her eyes and just melt!
They've been in my playlist since they dropped their first album.
David Pack had that voice. Smooth.
Excellent choice! They have so many great songs.
I don't think I've ever seen Asia & BJ enjoy a song this much....very cool
This is so amazing to me. I cant keep a smile off my face watching the 2 of you experience this song for the first time.
Hi Asia & BJ, It's your boy CR SoundDoctor and I have to commend you guys on the great work that you do with your channel and how you relate to us your subscribing family!!! Now with Ambrosia you're in for some smooth "Blue-Eyed-Soul" because these guys can sing some angelic harmonies & their lead singer David Pack can deliver great vocals with the best of them!!! So if you want more of Ambrosia, please react to their songs: "Biggest Part Of Me," "How Much I Feel" and "Holding On To Yesterday" you'll be glad you did!!! They're not just a "singing group," they're a band that also plays their own instruments which tells you they are musically talented too!!! Thanks again for this reaction!!!
Ambrosia was popular when I was a kid. It’s definitely a lifetime favorite band. As an older adult, I definitely appreciate good music.
David Pack!! Great lead vocals. Great harmonies. Ambrosia. Bad ass!! I'm 68yrs old on my top 5!!
Everything Ambrosia sings is absolutely amazing.
68 year old guy, here. This is one of my favorites, you guys seem to enjoy it, and thanks for putting this video together. Yay for harmony!
This song was a gigantic hit back when it was released . And deservedly so . Surprised y'all haven't reviewed this one yet .
this is what was called back in the 70's easy listening music
They always reminded me slightly of a mix of Hall & Oates and Michael McDonald. Some great songs in that catalog.
"Ambrosia' felt like they expressed their heart and soul. Sending Love,
Been preaching this for over a year!! Ambrosia-"You`re the Only Woman".."Biggest Part of Me"..."How Much I Feel". This is called "Easy Listening", "Pop", "Soft Rock"...NOT "Yacht Rock". Some newbie started hearing all this nice soft slow music & thinks they invented a new type of music yacht rock? This has always been...Easy Listening or Pop or Soft Rock. People need to Stop thinking they are "discovering" things that have been around. Stop reinventing everything. :) It`s like one of these baby boomers seeing a basketball game for the first time and deciding "wow, I saw this new sport I think it should be called the Bouncing Ball game". Mmm, no sorry, you didn`t invent it...it`s called Basketball! :)
Saw them Sunday evening in Cincinnati. So dang good. They still have it. Went with my high school sweetheart now hubby. Was soooo romantic then and even more in 2024❤
Yes, like Hall & Oates..."Sara Smile".."She`s Gone".Like Player-"Baby Come Back". Now, listen to Steve Perry-"Foolish Heart"...you`ve overlooked it for too long. You love Steve Perry`s voice...you will love this. Been saying it for over a year!
Holding on to yesterday, is my favorite of theirs. This whole album was fire 🔥
This is my fav song by ambrosia. Great harmonies and sweet soulful song
David Pack's voice touches your very soul. Another you need to check out is "Holding On To Yesterday".
Wife here...Looooved this song all my life!!..Enjoyed seeing you too really enjoying this..,Beautiful instrumentation.., Yeesss U2..So special.., Beautiful Sound!!!
The vocals, the instrumentation, the lyrics, such a great song
Omg, I had totally forgotten about this song...took me right back to high school. Thanks for helping me rediscover gems from my youth! Class of 81!
Love their songs and ❤️y’all too!
Ambrosia...yes!! Please do "How Much I Feel", " Biggest Part Of Me" & "Holdin' On To Yesterday". The baby makin' music of my generation!! Thank y'all!!🎶💙🎶💙
My dad called it "belly rubbin' music" I remember thinking he meant slow dancing up close, but... Yeah 🤣
One of the most talented and soulful bands of the 1970’s and early 1980’s. Here some other unforgettable tunes you must react to; Holdin’ Onto Yesterday,Nice Nice Very Nice,How Much I Feel,And Drink of Water. You will play all these songs over and over and become an Ambrosia fan!👍🏻🎹🥁🎤☮️❤️
The bridge of this song is absolute brilliance.
absolutely one of the best groups ever !!!!
I love how far you two have moved forward since you started doing reaction videos.
Lots more great music out there.
Merry Christmas I hope all your dreams come true in life. Next year will be the best.
There was SO much great music in the '60s and '70s that I love so much. Thank you for making this grandma happy! Love ya guys!!
Anything Ambrosia is always smooth easy listening. Y'all should definitely do a deep dive on them. If you get the cahnce give a listen to "I just cant let go" featuring Michael McDonald , and James Ingram backing up David Pack, who is the lead singer for Ambrosia.
Another great song from Ambrosia! They had so many great songs during the 70s! This is in yacht rock, soft rock, pop rock genre! Great reaction!👌😎👍
....back when not just the lead singer, but other band members could actually sing...and did sing throughout their songs....I miss the 70's. This is a truly beautiful voice....very very.
Hall n Oats, TOTO, Player, Michael McDonald( and Doobie Brothers), Kenny Logins, Ace, etc.... So many great similar bands from that era.
Love Ambrosia, Yacht Rock music is my fav! Ya'll need to do a night of Yacht Rock favorites.
Super smooth song, super smooth line to use too. You're the only woman that I'm dreaming of. Also check out song Biggest Part of Me.
On mine and the wife's last anniversary this was the theme of the day. 43 years together and I still love her more than ever!
Oh God, took me way back to my younger days and dancing. Loved this Group every song was big on the billboard.
"Ambrosia - Holding On To Yesterday (Remastered)" this is in black & white, but the sound quality is really good. and BJ you are right this is band actually crossed genres and was considered to be Yacht Rock, Blue-eyed Soul, and R&B some would say some of the best baby making music around😂I grew up listenig to this. My mom and dad played these songs on their console radio & record player all day long... I guess that might be why there's me & 3 siblings✌✌💖🔥✨✨🎶🤗
It's "Blue-eyed Soul" genre music is what it is called!!! Y'all....lol.....This song and Ambrosia continue the genre of Blue-eyed Soul....BJ is Right!!!! Way before Hall & Oates picked the genre up in the 80's!!!! Ambrosia...such a great band!!!
U guys are lookin great! Nice song from that era. Harmonies are so missing in our music World today....blue-eyed soul...
Thank You 🙏
What a lovely reaction & tune
Holding On To Yesterday
That one, has many memories attached to it
I still cry every dangum time
So, if you do that gorgeous tune, I’ll cry
But I’ll watch it all the same
It is a hauntingly gorgeous song
☺️✌️🎶
Yeah, Asia kinda nailed it. Mike McDonald, James Ingram, and one of the lead singers from Ambrosia, David Pack… we’re all great friends. They all sing on Pack’s “I Just Can’t Let Go”, which is brilliant & beautiful.
Pack had an incredible voice, and played a great lead guitar.
For Ambrosia’s greatest song, find “Holdin’ On to Yesterday”… a song that features a solo between electric guitar & violin. The song is kind of heartbreaking, and can be seen as being about 2 lovers OR about a man’s battle to regain his faith.
Pack is now a pastor in Cali.
Ambrosia hasn’t toured with him in 20 years.
Yes, WHO makes this kind of music anymore?? I mean, we were so spoiled back then by ALL the good music, we didn't realize how great we had it until at some point when there wasn't much - it's like what happened? So glad you two (a most lovely couple) are discovering this great stuff! Great reaction as always!
I totally agree with post before me all these songs great suggestions. This one right here is one of a big group of pop songs from 70s and early 80s,this one released in 1980. But this song stirs up feelings of mastalgia, beach, swimming pool summertime evenings listening in car with my mom driving us around to just listen to music.I LIVE MUSIC! Lots of songs you can discover from different groups from this time you would love Elvin Bishop,Paul Davis Air Supply, just so many.Super good reaction.Lived seeing you discover this gem.Thank you for sharing.
This a fav song of Ambrosia. My graduated in the 70's and before and up I still have my songs I listen to. Appreciate you both best wishes for your family.
O YA! They got some great cuts! Ive got a lot of their music. Great, great, magnificent band.👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 more please!
Stellar production. Nothing current can ever compete.
David pack is one of the best yacht rock vocalist of all time,
Holding on to yesterday is a must. These guys were pure gold back in the day. David Pack is still recording as the lead vocalist here for Ambrosia.
You guys will definitely love "Biggest Part of Me". I would recommend the live version.
This song favored dancing and at the time you better have the right beat so people get on the floor!!!!🎉😂❤
Ambrosia and their vocals electric. Hit after hit records.
Hey good to hear that song again - one of the many great Ambrosia Tracks. Great vocals - one of my favourite songs. David Pack just awesome. Great you bring this on!
Besides the fact that this song is an incredible arrangement acoustically is the fact that one can dance to a cha-cha beat to this song. very smooth !! Also the reaction on both of you faces is heavenly !!
You are discovering such great treasures of music from my era. Thank you so much for your great reactions. Awesome music!
great 70's and 80's group with great smooth music
We only got 5 magical albums from Ambrosia but they were all awesome! Album 1, 2, and 5 were more progressive rock. Album 3 and 4 were more pop and blue-eyed soul. I liked them all but the progressive albums are the ones that I return to most often. You should do some songs from their debut album, "I Keep Holding on to Yesterday", "Nice, Nice, Very Nice", "Drink of Water". David Pack left the group after the 5th album to go solo. He has the voice of an angel.
Ambrosia
How Much I Feel
Biggest Part Of Me
Asia & BJ this was called soft rock on the radio back in the 70’s & 80’s and also Ambrosia were very romantic and r&b.
So much soul in this song brings me back to a way back when.
I'm here for the Asia/BJ vibing! BJ was vibing so hard he looked like a bobblehead! Love it. I love watching you react and appreciate music. You're the best!
They are the Goat for sure.
My mom used to play Ambrosia all the time growing up. Genuinely great music. Smooth Sound
So many great bands of the 70s 😊😊
OMG my wife and I were dating when she introduced me to this song. Man what memories. Thanks sp much for reviewing.
Welcome to Yacht Rock. But yeah, Ambrosia is amazing. You're going to thoroughly love them. Watching you guys and you're obviously sucked in. I like to think of them as riding on a fancy inner tube down a beautiful river with trees shading you overhead and you're just drifting in bliss
So many great songs from this era..This is a good one for sure...
I remember listening to Ambrosia Songs in restaurant's when I was about 8 years old. Holy Cow 🐮, I have gotten old. But they were awesome, thanks for going back to great music,🤩
Blued eyed soul mixed with prog-rock and motown sound.
They had some wonderful and groovy trax.
Yes old Hall & Oats, Michael McDonald, Little River Band, all of those have great similar sound.
Asia’s smile tells us all we need to know. ❤
BJ you are awesome...dedicated this song to Asia...sweet and real. Thanx for this
i love singing this and "how much I feel"
"You're The biggest part of me" might be their best song
ambrosia had some great music, damn bringback memories of me and my wife lol
My 2 favourite instruments 🥁🎷, both are in Ambrosia 🎶🎵.
I love 70's love songs and this band is one of the best! Check out your the biggest part of me, and how much you feel.
One of my all-time favorites! 💜💜💜
Growing up in the 70s was wonderful. The music was fantastic. I'd give anything to go back in time when the music was like this everyday on the radio song after song.
So glad youz liked this! One of my favorites.
One of my favorites from back in the day! Great reactions!
Check out “Maria” with David Pack, James Ingram and Micheal McDonald. The CD is called “The Songs of West Side Story”. The whole album uses different artists. It is really great! “Maria” is my favorite! I hope you experience it too.
We who grew up in the 70s and 80s lived in the time of musical Giants who made music that resonates to this very day!
Ambrosia "Holdin' On To Yesterday"...Nuff Said.
Thanks for checking out "our music"... Saw you both boppin' a little... My boyfriend is a blind keyboard player... and hell yeah this song is on "that list"... We subscribed... Marcia and Nick :-)....... Thank you...
this is my jam and one of the best soulful jams of all time with the smooth as butter vocals of David Pack. they call it yacht rock as in chill on a cocktail and jam on a yacht but either way its so good and my fave song from Ambrosia
Excellent song yes! Check out my favorite...."Holding on to Yesterday". The bass and keys will melt your brain!
