My uncle was in all 5 major campaigns of WWII in Europe. He told me that in the final days of the war, his unit was moving through many small villages and towns with almost no resistance. Taking his turn on point, he moved through a small stone tunnel bridge. When he stepped out the other side, there were two German soldiers sitting by a machine gun. Scared him out of his boots. At that point he figured, what the h*ll, walked over and sat down next to them. They just sat quietly looking at each other. He said it is one of the memories that brought him the most pain because they all knew what the other was thinking: Thank God it's over...... Thank you vets of all wars!
I remember my father who fought with the Canadian army in France and Holland telling me about a German soldier they captured. As he was walking him back to the rear they talked (as he spoke English) and realized they both wanted the same thing, for the damn war to end so they could go home. After he dropped him off the German wished him good luck. Puzzled he asked why. The German soldier chuckled and said "My war is over". He always remembered that

May I share the most overlooked Bible principle from the Ten Commandments is the fourth. It says REMEMBER. It’s reminding us of Genesis 2:2&3. Created. Blessed. Sanctified. Kept by Jesus even the forty days after His resurrection.
The drive to the cemetary. The nostalgic, sweeping, emotional, music. Old, dry leaves give way to a single green leaf drifting down, taking us back into the past. Two young wounded enemy combatants setting aside their differences and helping each other, sharing a drink. Staying friends after the war. Not a word spoken, but full of emotion and content. You made me cry. From the credits I see how hard you worked on this. You have a seriously bright future. Well done!
Renato Prebeg:::: Was not uncommon. My uncle sat with a dying German soldier in Belgium that called to him slouched in a doorway with fatal wounds asking for a cigarette. It’s shows humanity to two different men from different continent’s who showed compassion for one another in a war that was not there’s to fight. Dragged kicking and screaming by those who wrote the policy’s and made the young fight in a war the old had created! The amount of youth slaughtered for the old to make war? When it’s the young who must fight, and die!

Reminds of two men I knew several years. Ones name was Hans the others name was Eddice, my uncle. Hans had been captured in August of 1944 when his U-Boat was leaving a port in France after having been refitted. He was sent to the states as a POW and he told me of how well he was treated. He didn't return to Germany until 1948 and then returned to the states in 1958 and married a young lady raised a family and owned a farm next door to my Uncle Eddice. Uncle Eddice was buried alive by an artillery round in the Philippines and received a very serious head wound later in the battle of Okinawa, they were the best of friends.
I’m glad he was brought safely to the USA. And, I am proud he was treated so well he returned and made the USA his home. Thank you for sharing his and your story. May God Bless You!

The one thing that I truly regret in my life is that I did not fight against war. When I was young, and much less wise, I served two years of combat duty in Viet Nam. I have experienced the gore and trauma of war and how easy it is to kill our enemies, but in reality those enemies are our brothers. I have lost good friends who died by my side and I have killed and hurt strangers who were on another side. This film makes me regret that I did not do more in life to fight against those who think that the use of military might is an easy and viable solution that too often preempts sincere listening and working to solve problems in peaceful ways. Thank you for making this film. I am near the end of my life and this short film has effected me in very deep ways. Again, thank you.
As a veteran, the one thing that always haunts me is "did I do enough? I should have done more. And last is, why wasn't it me? It should have been me."
Honour will always exist on the battlefield. It is human nature. Even when trained to kill your enemy. This is a short but beautiful film. No words, just a wonderful short piece on the human spirit of decency in the middle of madness. There are truly some talented film makers globally, This short film is but an example.

I'm sure there's a lot of untold stories of War where two otherwise Enemy Soldiers become Friends , because at they were two young Men just trying to Survive an Ugly situation they had no choice in..
Ah, yes "the Battle of when no bullets flew" a damn good story. 100 bombers flew into Germany and only one came out. The other 99 bombers were shot down this one bomber the survived was on the edge of being shot down and half of the crew dead. A German in his stuka flew next to the bomber and seen the men he then took the risk of helping these Allies back Homeland
As a 15 yr US Army veteran, I saw wars, from peace keeping in Bosnia and Macedonia, to iraq and Afghanistan. This is a touching film, of humanity above conflict.
this is the best WW2 based short film I've ever seen they didn't say a word which was the best part just goes to show even in war friends of enemies can be made. you guys did amazing this short film is full of emotions and it was really well directed and filmed
Really quite beautiful in every way. I visited the Reichwald War Cemetery with my father in 1991 to find the graves of a tank crew who were killed in an action he was involved in. I had never seen him cry before.....God knows what memories and images were going through his mind standing in front of those four graves. lt was a moment l will remember for the rest of my life. This beautiful film brought that moment back....it was hard watching through the tears. They were an extraordinary generation.
I assume you are British or maybe American. Most of the US/UK tanks in service at the time of the Reichswald battle - like the Cromwell, the Churchill, the Sherman and the Chaffee - had a crew of five. Standing in front of those four graves, your father is quite possibly the sole survivor of that unfortunate tank crew. As you say, God knows what memories and images were going through his mind. I have great respect and gratitude for this generation who fought to liberate Europe - and Germany! - from Nazi barbarism, especially when keeping their humanity intact, like shown in this amazing short movie. Compassionate greetings from Germany.
My dad's cousin, like him, was in a US Army tank destroyer battalion, but their unit remained stateside. In 1945, the cousin and a detachment were assigned to guarding German POWs who were held in a prison camp here in the US. One of the German soldiers was an artist who spoke English and sometimes chatted with my dad's cousin. The German did lots of sketches in the camp and also did a pencil portrait of the cousin on an 8 x 11 sheet, giving it to him as a surprise goodwill gesture. That portrait was later framed and has hung for decades in the cousin's home.

No one will ever fully know or comprehend what these brave men went through. Their personal experiences , their sacrifice. These are the men who should always be revered and never forgotten.
If only we have leaders who hate violence, no pride, and with charismatic hearts, there will be no war that will destroy lives, properties and future of countless men and women, adult and children...
My father was a soldier in WW2 when war broke out in the Philippines and became a prisoner of war. I am now in my sixties and reality of what he went through during the war makes me appreciate all those who serve their countries.
Amazing! Some moments in time are too vivid to ever forget. We should never forget that this "Greatest generation" was made up of souls from both sides. From across the generations....God Bless and God's speed to them all!
Allways remember... The Humankind must not FORGET!!!One of the best WW2 short movies i ever had the pleasure to see. May i say BIG short movie indeed. Many thanks and keep up your extraordinary work!
Not a dry eye... They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
I've bicycled through Northern France. And especially in the Somme area, there are memorials and small cemeteries of British, French Australian, New Zealand and German war dead, some buried where they had fallen. Each of these, no matter the nationality, is finely manicured, maintained, cleaned with fresh paint and many times fresh flowers. It does something to you to walk softly in these quiet resting places reading names and dates on the intricately measured rows of fallen from the great War.
What an excellent narrative. I love how you were able to convey so much emotion without the use of dialogue, and the cinematography was outstanding. Hats off to you for a splendid piece of work.

I love how such an incredible story can be told without a single word being said the entire film. A+ work!
Absolutely a beautiful story
This is one of the best short films I’ve seen in a while! Brought a tear to my eye :) great work!
Outstanding short film. I am a 63 year old US Army veteran and I must admit I have tears in my eyes. Well done, we need more short films like this.
I am 66. I know of war. I know of soldiers. This touch me deeply. Thanks for making. Thanks for posting.
To my Cousin Corporal Thomas Bennett 25th Infantry Division, USAR Medic who lost his life in Vietnam bringing the seventh injured soldier across a field of fire to Safety against his Commander's order.
"it's OK Tom, I would have gone for the Seventh too.". Rest in Peace Buddy, Rest in Peace. I will Salute you every Memorial Day that I live. God love you Cousin.
I will be 81 this year....an honor to live and to come home alive if only to Honor the Fallen. See you soon Buddy.

@@sopmodisdewife2355 I remember hearing about that
😪 with zero words, everything's told...!
I'm a strong and passionate guy and this made me cry after 2 year of no tears
really touching...enjoyed it very much..
Even at war we still remember humanity
Raymund Serioso Not fucking often. Ever been to war?
As a 15 yr US Army veteran, I saw wars, from peace keeping in Bosnia and Macedonia, to iraq and Afghanistan. This is a touching film, of humanity above conflict.
this is the best WW2 based short film I've ever seen they didn't say a word which was the best part just goes to show even in war friends of enemies can be made. you guys did amazing this short film is full of emotions and it was really well directed and filmed
That was awesome , it hit me in my heart !!!
I love these movie clips where enemies show their heart. This was a wonderful epic movie clip. Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us.
Amazing and powerful
"He ain't heavy, he's my brother"
MyGun4hire You clearly don’t know what a Nazi is. Nazi is a political party, not a solider.
If only we have leaders who hate violence, no pride, and with charismatic hearts, there will be no war that will destroy lives, properties and future of countless men and women, adult and children...
Crying on the bus watching this wonderful short movie.
My father was a soldier in WW2 when war broke out in the Philippines and became a prisoner of war. I am now in my sixties and reality of what he went through during the war makes me appreciate all those who serve their countries.
I just love the silence of the movie. And it's not hollywood.
I'm a 61 years old german and my hole live i was lucky not to use to fight any war. This film puts tears in my eyes. RIP to all fallen soldiers.
In the face of madness, the words of the Savior are heeded. Love thy neighbor as thy self. Beautiful film, thank you.
Very touching story!,,
If this were a movie... Oh, tears. What an amazing job you guys. Truly amazing. God bless them all.
What a beautiful story. He helped him live almost another 60 years. Comrades did they become.
Having talked with men that fought on both sides in ww2 , I came to understand there were good men on both sides and much bravery as well .
Excellent story, this veteran thanks you.
Beautiful little film: there are no winners in war; only losers. I know-two years in Vietnam; not just there like most; shot at almost every day.
Weapon sellers are winners...
@@jkara7843 And our illegal antipersonnel bombs are STILL blowing the legs off children.

Amazing!
Some moments in time are too vivid to ever forget.
We should never forget that this "Greatest generation" was made up of souls from both sides.
From across the generations....God Bless and God's speed to them all!
After all, we are all human 🙏
Heart warming. This probably did happen during the war. And I’m so happy that in the lowest points of humanity.. it still somehow shines through.
Very moving. Can't help weeping. I'm so glad they still knew eachother after the declaration of peace.
That was amazing. Everything was perfect. The cinematography was some of the best that I've seen. Very touching and poignant.
..вместо тысячи слов..
They shared two vices...a drink and a cigarette, and the will to live. And then they shared friendship and respect for each other. I liked it.
Allways remember... The Humankind must not FORGET!!!One of the best WW2 short movies i ever had the pleasure to see. May i say BIG short movie indeed. Many thanks and keep up your extraordinary work!
Sin palabras!!!
Not a dry eye...
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

I really do like this because it is a really good story please keep this video, don't delete it please, like the video a lot.
Please keep this video, I like the story a lot and it's a really good story please.
This is one hell of a truely epic short film. Emotional at its finest. Good Job.

Wow, no words were said in this short movie but it conveyed a lot of emotions. Beautiful!
Just excellent. No words needed, the language barrier was overcome with kindness!
