@@malcolmduncan3047 the new buses must be similar, most nights I catch a grey hound bus at Gundagai and can’t get him on the hills. In case anyone is wondering what a submarine is doing in Holbrook, hundreds of kilometres from the ocean. It is because the town was called Germantown, but during the First World War there was quite a lot of anti-German sentiment, and so the townspeople decided to rename the town. I'm not sure why, but the name chosen was to honour a Captain Holbrook of the Royal Australian Navy, who was the commander of a RAN submarine (I think it was AE1) So some time later (maybe 1980's?) the Navy upgraded their submarine fleet, and the town asked for a decommissioned Oberon class boat, and the government agreed! So the boat (don't know which one) was cut along the waterline and into manageable pieces and trucked down to Holbrook. The council reassembled and installed it in the park and beautified the area, and the rest is history.
Oh thank you for the back story. I neglected to mention any of that in the video. I’d always assumed it’s because that’s the town Holbrook came from. But thinking about it now that doesn’t make sense lol
Jeez, I see there's some good driving awards being handed out by the po-po. @Brad_The_Truckie that U.S. series was great, especially the way the track areas are kept neat and clean.
Something we need to address over here.
