That's exactly what's happening to my mansard roof; shingles are falling off because my asshole roofer ( actually a fly by night installer) Jay Taylor in Fenton, Michigan did NOT hit the sweet spot of the architectural 30 year shingles. So after spending all that money on expensive materials, asshole treated it like donated cardboard, and just didn't give a shit. Did not use 6 nails per shingle, and just nailed anywhere on the shingle. He also had poor eyesite, or just an excuse for not seeing the strip where to hit the nails. A scam artist in the industry. I paid huge labor money up front, and he took that money and ran to the bank to pay off his late mortgage payments so his house didn't get forclosed. He had no money left to pay for an installer, so he hacked the roof himself. Scammed terribly.
Sorry to hear you're having problems. Mansard roofs can definitely be a headache if you are not very careful with your install and follow the directions we laid out in this video. A claim may be able to be filed with your roofers insurance policy under errors and omissions to help you cover the costs of redoing the work.

Literally, this is my whole street rn and the out of state landlords just keep hiring companies that don’t install correctly. It’s insanity. There is a reason it failed in less than 8 years y’all 😅
Love the video! How many tubes of sealant do you guys usually need to use per sq when installing on a mansard roofing system?
Not exactly sure on how many tubes per square but we put down 4-5 spots of sealant on each shingle of a mansard roof. I would guess you would need 2-3 tubes per square. Better to have too much than not enough!

A ladder standoff or stabilizer will be a great tool for you if you're painting your windows. It will keep the ladder stable while also keeping the ladder from damaging your siding or cladding.
Ive used these shingles many times. Opened brand new packs and the shingles were failing.
what shingles were you opening up that they were failing immediately?
