I do not know the answer to that I am sorry. You can try tapping the nib on the paper, or putting the pen in a jar of hot water. I find the metallic to be the best in not doing that, the pastel the worst. Is it a particular colours that have dried up/blocked up? I try to use mine fast for that reason. They dont seem to keep overly well.

Hi Emily, No the pens do not bleed through to the other side of the page. In the Kaisercolour Colouring Books the paper is quite sturdy and you see no trace of colour on the other side of the page. I tested the pens on the flimsy paper in my diary and they do not bleed through on that either, but you can see the colour through the flimsy paper. Hope that helps. Alicia : )

Not a chance. They look like pretty standard cheap gel pens which would all but disappear into dark paper. You can tell because you'll notice in many areas where she is taking the gel pen right over the line art, and even the silver glitter (I think) wasn't opaque enough to cover the lines inside those petals - you could still see all of the lines under the ink very clearly even after she colored in the whole section. For black or dark paper you really want truly opaque gel pens. Uni Signo ink is the absolute best on the market. The Noble Metal and Sparkling Signo lines are the best of all gel pen brands on dark paper - most metallic brands go all silver on black paper and lose their color, but Signo inks retain the true color on black paper. They are miles better than Gelly Roll metallic and glitter pens. The Uni Signo Angelic line is also opaque and made to use on dark paper, they are pastel colors. I like to use them to make highlights and to get rid of black lines in coloring books, makes things more interesting The only thing I wish they did was make a larger color selection
I tried the pens on black card stock. I found that the Pastel pens came out on the black (which is half of the set), where the glitter pens did not. The pastel pens gave a chalkboard kind of effect.
What? Those neon-looking greens and yellows that are labeled "pastel" left ALL the underlying line art visible, as did the two blue pastels. That's really weak if they're supposed to be opaque. The purple pastel looked like it covered the line art just because the ink is so dark it was hard to tell the difference. However it seems like the light pink and peach colored ones did cover the line art a bit. But the other peach or orange colored pastel and the darker pink pastel disappeared into the line art like all the rest of them. Maybe it's just because you were coloring fast and not trying to give it full coverage? It's hard to tell. But Uni-Ball Signos [Angelic & Noble Metal] would obliterate all of the lines with one pass-through. Signo ink is specialized to perch on the surface of the paper, this goes for all Signo lines and the design of the tip is unique among gel pens so it helps eliminate scratchiness that might scoop some ink out of the way in the middle of a line. I think Moonlight and Souffle Gelly Rolls would also cover the line art almost as easily. Pentel makes the best mechanical pencils, but Uni makes the best gel pens.
It depends how carefully and thoroughly you colour. If you kind of rush it and dont apply as much ink you can see some pen lines. If you take a bit more time and apply more ink to the page then you dont see lines. Some colours show more lines than others.

I haven’t used my Kaisercraft gel pens for quite a while and I find now that they don’t run smooth, how do I unclog the nib so I can use them again?.

Yes, thats correct. Its not as clear as it is on white paper...looks more like chalk on a chalkboard kind of effect.
