    Please listen to this great advice, she and I have very similar views on skincare. I wish I had started this years ago, I didn’t know the importance of sunscreen. I began taking my skincare seriously in my late twenties and still have lots of damage from my childhood and teens popping up. You CAN reverse damage though, it’s never too late to start! My skin looks better now in my 40’s than it ever has, I’m so happy with my skincare routine and hope you can all find your too! ❤

      I’m also a 40’s gal and curious about what products you’ve found most beneficial for maturing skin care. I’d altered my routine recently which caused me some issues that I’ve never experienced including cystic acne. This is very recent and definitely due to a new cleanser and moisturizer I gave a try. Now I’m feeling pretty wary of everything and I just can’t seem to make a decision on a new cleanser and moisturizer. Perhaps you may have some advice to lend? 😌 Thanks so much.

    I just don’t get it😔 Isn’t your skin supposed to crease when you raise your eyebrows or smile?

    • @olivebread65
      @olivebread65 Год назад +9

      That’s completely normal! Lines that are made only when smiling or raising eyebrows are called dynamic lines. If those lines are constantly present even when you’re not making those expressions they are static lines. In this case she is referring to the latter. But any lines are normal whether dynamic or static! They just sometimes signify that a change might need to be made in your skincare routine or lifestyle.

    • @Piss-shark
      @Piss-shark Год назад +4

      smile lines are completely normal though, especially if you have minimal facial fat/dry skin. basically everyone has vaguely visible smile lines by the age of 16 and that’s fine, but other lines can be prevented and aren’t common until an older age

    • @666_cthulhu

      @@Piss-sharktrue. i’m 18 with almost no sun damage and some serious babyface genes (people still think my grandma is my mom and my parents easily look 10+ years younger than they are) and even i have some very subtle fine lines in certain areas of my face. it’s normal to have a little bit of that even as a teenager, esp if you’re as expressive as i am.
      in short, you can’t control your genetics, but PLEASE - for the love of all that is good in this world, wear sunscreen!! whether you’re 15 or 50, you need to be wearing sunscreen EVERY DAY. it’s such an easy (and relatively affordable!) step you can take now to prevent premature aging and skin cancer in the future.

    People! If you are using these products and not seeing results, you need to STEAM your skin or use a warm cloth to loosen up debris in your pores preventing absorption of products. This worked for me and made a drastic difference. Also with dry hair, this is why deep conditioning with a steamer or sitting under a hooded dryer makes a huge difference too. Your hair and skin likes ph balanced products as well. Slugging after using penetrated products makes a difference on skin and hair, if you have excessively dry hair. This is called the LOC method- liquid, oil, cream or petroleum to seal. Steaming is NOT bad for your skin, as long as you are sealing in moisture.

But what I have discovered last year was that after wearing a covid mask that the lines were the mask was needed some time to go, like 20 minutes. Is this normal or is it a sign that the skin is not as elastic anymore?

    • @SalehSingh44
      @SalehSingh44 7 месяцев назад

      Depends. I only wash with water in the AM if I didn’t wear heavy products the night before, it really helps your barrier. At night, it depends on how heavy the products were that I wore during the day. Some light Asian sunscreens come off well with just my cleanser, but many of them I definitely need to do a double cleanse. It also depends on your skin type and needs, if you’re oily, double cleansing really helps clean gunk away from your pores, if you’re dry, just rinsing with water in the AM can be super beneficial for helping your barrier. However, if I slug the night before, I usually will double cleanse in the AM to get the layer of goop off my slimy face. 😂

I already use sunscreen everyday duh I’m Venezuelan but I’m not trying to mess with my skin. It’s called having a hot girl Summer guys… I hate hate hate it when people say that lol but yeah I use sunscreen on my face neck and hands at the very least every single day. Are you around. I also use retinol because I know that it’s good for your skin. I have made it up to the prescription strength wooohoo & I also use a vitamin C, and I use a mask or a serum 2 to 3 times a week to exfoliate. My skin completely fine, I just look up what I am purchasing.
    Consistency is key. I agree with the devil hunting. That is probably a good idea for some people. I’d like to use on my cellular water before cleansing with the cream plant based cleanser but yep whole routine takes … two seconds? 20 seconds? Definitely not as long as this message talk to right now and there’s like 1 billion typos in it but why because I watched like two or three skin care videos by PillowtalkDerm and I getting all of these videos of people who aren’t dermatologist and aren’t aestheticians and honestly don’t have much of a change in their skin I mean she looks really good for being in her 30s I guess! I don’t think she’s 40… She said mistakes in her 20s I’m not trying to be rude here about ages. I also don’t think age matters, it was on the inside that counts❤
    Plus, my mama just got a full body scan she is… Let’s just say over 40 and it said that she is 37 years old physically

      You can't really get rid of fine lines once they've formed with botox or some other cosmetic procedure, but you can greatly reduce the appearance of them temporarily with products that smooth, hydrate, and fill in fine lines. Vitamin C is really good for that.

    What about mentioning expensive procedures? Just be honest. You do whatever you want with your money but just mention it so that people know what to expect with just their skincare routine.
    People be buying everything suggested by these influencers and getting frustrated why they don't get those dramatic results, when these influencers get hundreds of dollars worth of microneedling, peels, lasers and other procedures

      You can see the dehydration around her eyes in the before shots, mine used to look like that too. I used to do the same thing and was always stripped and dehydrated. My skin looks better now in my 40’s than in my 20’s in many ways, I’m still older and have some aging, but it looks so much healthier. I’ve never had anything done, it’s all with skincare and I’ve had a few TCA chemical peels that helped too.
