I moved to that area of Chicago in 2007 when I was 29 years old. I first lived on Division Street in east Humboldt Park (the next neighborhood over) for a year but in 2008 I moved to a six flat building near the intersection of Wood and Milwaukee in Wicker Park. I lived there from 2008 until 2012 while I was in Grad School at Roosevelt University getting my Masters.
I absolutely LOVED living in Wicker Park and Humboldt Park! That 5 years between being 29 and 34 was the most fun part of my life! I'm 46 years old now and I live in the Chicago Suburbs. But in my youth, I have lived all in city neighborhoods all over the United States including Portland, Seattle, Houston, Texas and several areas in Metro Chicagoland. Out of all the places I've ever lived, Wicker Park was my absolute favorite!
I love Chicago❤❤❤ I encourage anyone looking for a cheaper bigger city to move here.
wicker park chicago..👍👍
I used to work at the bank that is now a walgreens on the 6 corners, Milwaukee, Damen, and North Ave. Since that walgreens was an old bank they have aisles behind vaults. Looks cool
Funny thing, I went to that walgreens before riding the blue line back to the Loop.
4:44 That building is sunken because Chicago was raised several times throughout history. It used to flood easily because it was built on a swamp area. There many buildings that have 1st floor stairs go up to the sidewalk but most of them are in Pilsen, Chinatown and Brideport. Chicago's original street height is Lower Wacker Drive in the Loop
Good observation, didn't realized the building was sunken, good to know the reason why.
Love this! Very cool!
Excellent video!
Thank you
Looks like a nice peaceful neighborhood. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Thank you Darryl, glad you enjoyed the video
Great video man
The film High Fidelity, with John Cusack, was set in Wicker Park.
3:24 They filmed alot of movies on this street. The one that first comes to mind is The Grude 3
Thats really cool.
Cool! We didn't get to this part of Chicago.. lots of greenery. I like that one stretch of neighborhood with lots of stores/restaurants and the little alleys.
Its a cool neighborhood, there's a lot of neighborhoods I didn't got to explore in Chicago, but couldn't fit it all in 4 days.
Btw those houses aren't too expensive many $250k to $600k. Some can go for 1 million though
Wow thats really cheap, here in NYC those houses can surpass the million dollars
@@MannyExploresVlog I know. Usually the 1 million dollar ones in Chicago are luxury homes, urban mansions
@@MannyExploresVlogSo that’s not entirely true. All those homes have been turned into condos on each floor so each floor is condo and ranges in that price. For the whole building you’re looking at Millions
What street was the viaduct on?
New friend here/yzai
#replay thanks for sharing such nice neighborhood.
A really beautiful neighborhood, I could live there.
Get out of downtown and Lincoln park, turn off fox32 it’s rotting your brain and visit a REAL neighborhood like this. Chicago is safe unless you are a rival of a resident in the neighborhood. Great vid
Cant understand you!
Can't understand you either
