Back to talking about the video, there really is a step by step process to doing this currently, and it is easy to do one you get the hang out of it.
Of course, later in training, I show how to properly use the security, but for the sake of time on RUclips, the security set up fits just fine.
I will say if you have an interest in looking at training and very well structured then check out this link.

Hi Shane, Is there a way to log a user into factory talk me with a PLC tag? I've done several tests with macros but I always get the error "unable to write tag". Thanks!
@@fabricioriggi not with a PLC tag
Thanks Shane for providing these videos. quick question if you don't mind. have you had any experiences with "login attempt failed. user authentication failed" errors after period of usage? the only fix is to restart the factorytalk View ME. it is using FactoryTalk View ME Station: 9.00.00 CPR 9 SR9.
Are you on Windows 10?
If so then the software has issue from time to time, I use Windows 7 through VMware which has no problem.
Also, try using the FactoryTalk wizard to reset your signin
This is a one time issue usually and can be found in FactoryTalk tools.
I would provide more info but I am answering this from my phone.
I am at the hospital with my son who was just born so limited resources right now.
Shane Welcher wow congrats! I’m sure that he will keep you busy for the time being. Yes, it’s installed on a windows 10 environment(one of the requirements), and it’s not an isolated problem as we have seen on multiple machines. Not sure what tool that you are referring to but have tried rebuilt the runtime with new logins without luck.

I use VMware as a virtual machine on my pc meaning, I make an image of my pc for driver and such the have the current OS on it.
Then have it as a virtual machine I run on my host computer that is Windows 10.
Basically you have two computers then but one is a host and the other virtual.
I use VMware to link them together.
