      I bet there was a copyrighted song playing in the scene. That would be my best guess!

    Gosh no mention of the director Aussie Peter Weir who was already a name at the time. I remember seeing it at the time and it was very charming and have rewatched it since. Today's sensibilities would not get away with the poster of Depardieu carrying McDowell away (except maybe in France).

    Thanks for converting every 4:3 video into 16:9 so those that actually have a 4:3 monitor have it squished to a small square in the middle.

    Roger slammed Coming To America for being derivative of those old romantic comedies and yet he gave this one a pass. 🙄

      Coming to America was kind of a mess..but an entertaining one. If you re-watch Coming to America and focus on the romance angle, it's pretty hollow. Eddie and John Amos are still great in it though.

      @@takerdust I am not a die hard defender of Coming To America. I actually do agree about the romance but overall, I think the film is effective.
