Hikaru seems a lot more comfortable here than the past previous coffee chess videos. Like he’s a lot more confident and a little more relaxed. In the past videos, I always got the feeling that he was being a little more shy and reserved. Anyways good game. Hikaru a chess speed demon.
i effing love hikaru for doing these cameos. what other gm's does this? not too many. not too many of hikaru's calibre and stature. thanks to the hakman. thanks to this channel!!!
"Small inflection points”...for nearly all of us. A giant open gaping wound to a SGM. One that they giggle at as they go about jamming their fingers into it.
the fact that hikaru only plays with 1 min is such a flex. like bro the only good thing is you get to play with hikaru himself. dont even think of winning lol.
Play for a draw then. It's possible. I once drew a game with an IM that way 20 years ago because I knew a win was not going to happen. Today I would try to win.
it's funny I'm the samed rating as Max, 2200-2300 online and 1900-2000 OTB and would have played almost all the exact sasme moes, even the same blunder taking on d5 but overlooking that Ra2 will win the piece

Chess is so humbling when ever either player looses they are crushed and thinking how and why and what if I am just beginning on my chess journey and I get so bummed about loosing because it just means I didn’t see something so obvious to someone else. Also I am very athletic and good at sports have been all my life but now I’m my thirty’s I like the intelectual games more I guess it’s just life but I want to be good at it it humbles me in every loss, I have lost a lot if anybody even reads this and I tell myself I just have to keep breaking myself down till I feel the love for chess and I really do love it and hate it at the same time which brings a grin to my face writing this.
That fell apart pretty quickly. Probably feels like playing an engine, futile, annoying, impossible to get anything you want in the position. Play 1 inaccuracy and it's gg
Hikaru is literally a top 10 player in the whole world and top 2 in blitz. A 1900 FIDE player is going to get crushed regardless of how well they play. It's like trying to analyze the quality of an amateur boxer while making them fight the heavyweight champion. It's an unfair metric of performance.
@michael The time difference here isn't a substantial advantage given that Hikaru is an elite speed player. Against a slower GM like Caruana, it might be a bigger factor but againsy Hikaru it's still a massively disadvantageous set up for an average 1900 FIDE player
If this man can study to be a doctor and be 2200. I can definitely do security full time and make it to 1400 blitz eventually.
Of course you can

Yep, Mr. H is pretty cool.

Nice game gentlemen! Thank you very much Mr. H for stopping by, we appreciate it man.
Hikaru's time odds on a 2200 are insane
Yep, but Hikaru is 3200 to that guys 2200
You should watch the Botez Gambit speedrun, the man beats 2200s without a queen
He gave time odds 1 min to a 2500 IM here as well
5:15 hikaru looking at the board 🤣

Respect to Hikaru for showing up again to the coffee chess crew. Good to see him here.
Shoutout to Hikaru. I subscribe to him because of things like this. He’s such a great person.
I can’t get over how good he is, unbelievable.
When Hikaru was looking at the window he was actually looking at the board on the screen.
😂😂😂
Hikaru has a mental table base when there are 32 pieces remaining on the board
If you start thinking, you give hikaru time to think.
That's the key! Think on the others guys time so don't give him the time and just dig in for a potential draw.
Thinking on the other guy’s time only works if the other guy takes any time.
And yet, if you don't stop to think, you're just playing bullet against Hikaru. It's really a lose-lose situation
Hikaru is literally the coolest guy
Kudos to Hikaru for giving his time top fella 👍
Hikaru vs. Forest! Now THAT’S gotta be the video of the week!
5:07 Hikaru analyzing the 2D board ? 😄
Hikaru continues to look at the wall as he plays an entirely new game in his head LOL
I like how Hikaru is thinking about the position but he looks like he's staring at the digital board 🤣
Just play Hikaru knowing you're going to lose - the guy is genius
Hikaru appearances are my favourite by far!! So much fun!
"Its hard to play all the lines actually" LMAO
Hikaru went easy on them. Not even going 100% with the pineapple shirt
These colabs are so fresh and fun to watch. Love it that Hikaru continues to come back.

Who hikaru or the doctor?
The definition of a poisoned pawn. There's no way Hikaru leaves a pawn hanging without having the response planned.
