I'm not sure if the life expectancy was that old. There are still people and places around the country that aren't much different today then what it was back then.
About 30 years ago I read a book by Bob Bondurant, who was a legendary race driver and driving instructor who taught the likes of James Garner and Paul Newman, among many others. His family used to run shine back in the day. After watching this movie I could hear Paul Harvey saying, "And now you know... the rest of the story".
The guy that does the voice of Arthur could easily do it. Actually with a little makeup and fitness training every voice actor could play themselves in a live action remake
Greatest movie about the back woods bootleggers ever produced. Tom Hardy nailed his part, the calmness and the staring into your eyes like he was looking directly through your skull. The mild tone of his voice with the stare was what I also perfected in life crossing the paths of individuals not so likely to be of the friendly nature and they always seemed to back down. Now that I am 60 years of age, I have perfected it being there are so many punks thinking they are "King-of-the-Hill" when in actuality they find out after crossing paths with me they have a much high hill to climb to even get close to the top. I've always enjoyed confronting punks and always will. In my neck of the woods, it's how the successful stay successful.
Howard was this families Arthur Shelby, and Alfie Solomon himself is veritably Thomas Shelby. Disturbingly calm and unflinching about necessary violence.

Eceryone in this movie just killed it. Love this movie
I recommend all of you to watch Hardy's Taboo! I was skeptic at first, but he truly exercised his talent in that world.
Watched it twice and am looking forward to season two .
@@murphy13295 I am definitely looking forward to it as well. Hopefully, the story line doesn't fall through.
Really like this film
loved it when Howard just pushed through the doors through punches left and right then picked up the deputy like a rag doll
This movie deserves way more attention from people. It is a great film.
Need more movies like this love it
Tom as Arthur morgan in a movie would be perfect!
I was thinking more Joel Kinnaman. He's about the same height as Arthur.
The guy that does the voice of Arthur could easily do it. Actually with a little makeup and fitness training every voice actor could play themselves in a live action remake
This gentleman is more fitting I believe: ruclips.net/video/mbkWniWSpR0/видео.html&ab_channel=Movieclips
Josh brolin as Arthur Morgan.
@@ashleyhorne3502 Correct
Tom Hardy with serious Letterkenny energy here.
Cops came up to me at the gas station the other daaay
Straight up lol
End of the laneway don't come up the property
Great, now I need there to be a way for Tom Hardy to make a Letterkenny cameo. . .
I could just picture Wayne, Darry, and Squirrely Dan sitting on the porch with Forrest.
Well Alfie did smack a dude with a cane because of a joke.
@@billybatts9491 might be some sort of tubing but nevertheless, he used it as a cane and still broke a couple of teeth with it.
True, this is basically the blinders if they stuck to street crime.
I remember when I first saw this movie. Didn't know about Tom Hardy before he played Bane. So when I saw that character portrayal, I immediately looks for his next role and this was it. Dude knocked it out the park once again, immediately he became a favourite
Check out warrior
Tom Hardy is one of if not the most underrated actor.

The lesson of the day is don't mess with hillbillies.

Hillbilly hillbilly hill!
Nah just don't mess with them old Franklin County moonshiners.
Hillbilly here. Thing is, meth burned through the mountains, it really changed the game and culture. There was a certain pride in running shine.

Such an underrated movie, they all did a fantastic job in it,the movie as a whole is so good
I got a older brother just like Howard. Mean and territorial. Also 5x worse on the Home brew....but I'm grateful he's on our side and on call.
Humble Opinion 43 Samurai same haha my family’s “Howard” is the black sheep of our family nd 2nd oldest. So he do EVERYTHING the oldest say haha
Humble Opinion 43 Samurai No you don't
Every family has a Howard. Our Howard has settled down ever since I had babies. Very few families have a Forrest, however. Probably a good thing we didn’t
The howard in my family passed last year 😔 Unfortunate for all of us
Whites Face
Sorry to hear that.
I feel this way everytime the mailman drops off my electric bill
Just turned my lights off reading this lol
Ah you are an Eversource customer too
Loved you in Earth Girls Are Easy!
Tony Stark: 'We have a Hulk!"
Forrest Bondurant; 'Have you met Howard?"
“Have you met Howard “ so calm and graceful gets me every time 🤣👊🏽👊🏽😵😵
I like how he tells him It aint nothing personal Henry by his first name, you don't get respect between enemies like that anymore
Not even enemies. Just different sides of the law. The sheriff could come by for gas later as long as he behaved himself.
Yes he is,and it's so great to have a new action hero for me. And he was great the best in this movie. LOVE YOU TOM HARDY. I was born in Welch west Virginia ❤
I could watch this a hundred times. Too bad we don’t have the balls as a society to stand up to corrupt law enforcement anymore. Sad, really.
I have watched it at least 50 & still going. 😅
A British man acting as a deep southerner and its pretty convincing. Much wow.
Appalachia isn't the Deep South
@@mwilliamshs it sure aint, and neither is Tom's accent that convincing. Real Appalachia dialect is a thing to behold.
@@darkerdaemon7794 seen moonshiners cant remember the guys name the real moonshiner guy yeah the dialect is a thing to behold.
@BestFightingVideos not in the south the vast majority are german and irish descent i am an exception i can trace my lineage all the way back to the middle ages in england.
It's southern Virginia and Blue Ridge, not Deep South Appalacian.
Great story telling, cricket was one of my favorite characters.... guess I understand working thru life's curve balls and turning em into a strength
They broke the mould with Tom Hardy. A true film legend.
Tom Hardy is such a great actor always killing it man
This is an AWESOME movie I have it on DVD. the Bonduront brothers, moonshiners that weren't going to be intimidated. Forest Bonduront the oldest one was the real badass of the three. he always carried a set of brass knuckles with him. he got his throat cut from ear to ear and survived it. I probably shouldn't say to much more so as to not give it away for the folks who haven't seen it.
Tom Hardy is one of my favourite actors. This is one of his best characters IMO. The best character he plays is Alfie Solomons from Peaky Blinders. Dudes a brilliant actor
If this subtle taste of Tom Hardy doesn't prove how good an actor he is.. nothing will.
he did pretty well in The Revenant too.
@@StanHowse Heck Yeah!!!
This is how I imagine my grandfather grew up in the late 20's and 30's and he lived long enough to see me up until age 6. but never saw me turn into a Howard they never drank but somehow it was passed to me
PLOT TWIST: Somebody is getting beaten stupid in a movie with Tom Hardy, and he isn't the one doing it!
Saw this Movie for the 1st time 2yrs ago fell in love with just the "Brotherly Bond"💯💪
This is one of my favourite movies! Brilliant actors left right and centre, fantastic casting.
From this to alfie in peaky blinders.. that’s called range man .. amazing
