I own 3 Henry rifles, a 30-30, a 22 lr lever and a 22 mag pump. All are very high quality, shoot and function great. I also love they are completely made in America, even the walnut for their stocks is American grown!
Three shot increments then make adjustments. The last group was consistently low and to the right. Don’t be afraid to move the sights. My friend has the same rifle and we hit the bull’s-eye all day long at 50 yards.
I have this same rifle and I couldn't be happier with it. Everything about it shows outstanding craftsmanship. The blue is the darkest of any of my collection, every surface is polished, there's not a sharp edge on it anywhere, there were no loose screws except possibly the adjustable insert on the rear site and I may be remembering that wrong, the action is very slick, there are no loose pieces, no gaps where parts join. and the Walnut is probably the best wood of any gun I've ever held and I'm 65 years old It's easily the most beautiful long gun in my collection, and possibly outshines my best pistols as well and there's some excellent well made handguns there. It's obvious that every person involved in producing this rifle loves what they're doing and is very good at what they do. It may be the only thing I've bought in recent months that didn't have a single flaw, rare these days. I haven't fired it from a bench with appropriate pads and a steady position to best test the zero but it seems to be dead on right out of the box. The trigger pull is great. The rifle just feels like quality when you hold it. It functions flawlessly with all the ammo I've put through it. several offerings of shorts, and long rifle, one example of sub-sonic LR and although CB caps and shot shells are not recommended, both of those also perform with no problems at all. The only thing I would change is I'd like the front blade to be about three times the thickness and the notch of the rear site to be correspondingly wider although it does have "safari" type sights that allow for a hasty reasonably true target acquisition as with big, dangerous game rifles of the past so I feel confident should I be charged by a vicious squirrel I will be able to dispatch it without risking injury, LOL I have two other .22 rifles, a Ruger 10/22 and a '70s vintage Winchester , both being semi autos and the Henry is now my favorite. I think my next purchase will be a Henry in .357 mag.
Some people just love the lever actions, even more than the semi autos. When you get used to them, you almost become one with the gun. The way you gotta reload and re-aim. They are pretty awesome!
Y'all ought to read those pamphlets. One guy on here didnt realize it it had a half cock lock. Its never a bad thing to re read what you know or learn something new.
I didn’t like the comb stock on the golden boy and no way to mount a scope didn’t realize this until I had done purchased it had to put a cheek rest on it to compensate for the comb and I’m good with that but still no way to properly mount a scope if I had it to do over I would purchased the frontier model the comb is more like the marlin 30-30 and has a solid platform to mount a scope
After a lot of research I bought my GoldenBoy Silver because it is drilled and tapped to accept a rail and be able to mount virtually any type of optic. I ordered a full length weaver style rail from Henry outfitters. You need to drift out the rear sight to expose the drilled and tapped mounting screw holes. Another few scope mounting options are available from Skinner Sights. Hope this helps you.
We just bought one last Saturday . Haven't fired it yet , maybe Monday at range . I just looked , I didn't get the lock ? Is that because I'm Canadian ?
There were ties of the original Benjamin Tyler Henry and Winchester. I believe Winchester was an investor before taking the company over. New Haven, CT. This Henry (Henry Repeating Arms) is a pretty new company.
The golden is nice because when you’re not shooting it, it’s great to look at or display! Sometimes you can get a deal on them. This one came from Wal-Mart of all places.
Nice looking gun! However, it looks like your friend is pulling the trigger, and therefor hitting to the right. Try squeezing it, and the bullet cluster should thighten up considerably.
It’s a general term. Like engine oil or engine lubricant. Depends how technical you wanna be. There’s a difference when someone says “motor” in their car instead of “engine”. But if you know what they mean, who cares?
These rifles are not in the same class as the Marlin 39(A) nor the Winchester 9422(M). The aforementioned rifles have a long and historic legacy which the "Henry" company does not and they both have forged steel receivers whereas the alleged "Henry" has a receiver made of Zamak (pot metal).
In the December issue of guns and ammo there is two rifles Henry makes that have recalls on them they need to be worked on and fixed you might want to check yours out.

Nice!
One of the best lever action .22 rifles out there .Fun to shoot - accurate , smooth and will get the job done on small game too.

I’ve had mine for 2 years and absolutely love it!
Nice! How many rounds through it?

Could be, I’m not sure what your laws are there. I just know your gun rights keep getting restricted
I didn't either (also Canadian)
Beautiful firearm
Thanks!
I read Henry become Winchester. This company started in New York not all that long ago. Am I mistaken?

Just bought one!
Congratulations! You got a good gun!
man, i feel like i want the golden boy but I am the type that scratches and mars everthing. should I still get the golden or just the normal?
The golden is nice because when you’re not shooting it, it’s great to look at or display! Sometimes you can get a deal on them. This one came from Wal-Mart of all places.

It is a Rifle not A Gun !!
It’s a general term. Like engine oil or engine lubricant. Depends how technical you wanna be. There’s a difference when someone says “motor” in their car instead of “engine”. But if you know what they mean, who cares?
who cares mate? We all use the term interchangeably.

Yeah there are better quality rifles out there then Henry’s. But the Henry’s are definitely better than a lot out there. Thanks for the info.
In the December issue of guns and ammo there is two rifles Henry makes that have recalls on them they need to be worked on and fixed you might want to check yours out.
Thanks for the heads up!
My goodness. Move the sight up! 1 notch is not going to move it up much. You were off by a foot
Agreed, but where’s the fun in getting it right the first time? 😁
