They should've sold it in person only , and made us all have to line up fair and square where bots wouldn't matter , like we used to line up back during PS1 and PS2 era for major things. Sony also should've fixed their site with a smoother more fair process but they couldn't care less , nothing has changed since the 2020 pandemic buying chaos. Sony Is the one fans should truly be blaming , this was a middle finger to all the real og day 1 PS1 launch fans from 1994/1995 , this shows you how far Sony has really fallen and how little you mean to them.

Single orders should not be cancelled. If two or more orders are under the same name and/or delivery address (even on different payment methods), YES CANCEL.
If you use your bank card and make a big purchase that you normally don't do, it will flag it as a fraud purchase. Use a credit card instead of a bank card

Why only make 12.6k of these worldwide? Why not just release the 30th edition plates and allow users to swap the cosmetics on the console/controllers. This is to much trouble for a console, even if you get one... your most likely going to just leave it unopened in your room like a trophy. It makes no sense.

There have already been multiple sales for over 5k euros in the EU. There will be a massive demand boost when the actual launch date comes around and people have physical possession of it. Keep in mind this value will only be for the mint-in-box unopened bundles. So think twice before you crack that seal.

I did the similar thing ,waited in tge que in the morning to find out im in a queue that is 1.5 hours long ,i was lucky to get a dualsense edge controller to add to my collection

I remember when the PS5 first came out. I was at work on my break when it went live. Had the PS5 on my Walmart cart and when I clicked to buy it lagged and it said that it was sold out. I remember being so bummed out.

I preordered the 30th anniversary controller by itself today at gamestop. Their website says unavailable but I think its to keep them from scalpers because myself and others ive seen comment on youtube have got their preorders in. They only take controller orders right now though. Not sure if theyll take console orders in October but i plan on calling every week or two and asking if/when they will. Seems gamestop is the only one with any sense at the moment, and thats just crazy. Really shows how important it is to keep brick and mortar stores alive.
I got the 30th pro via Best Buy. They took card info but I’ll be charged Nov 21. I called my bank and made sure my card can take the charge without issue
I got in at the start but the pro was not listed. After I bought the portal and got back in a second time and the pro was listed but as currently unavailable. It never was for sale in my area.
They should really just cancel every single order, ass well as for stores, and just redo it all through PSN, on a PS system only. PSN status should give significant priority obviously. Maybe some ambitious scalpers would then open up all the regular PS5 they didn't sell and hedge their gamble further that way. But at least it be something. There is no running botnets and 50 browsers on a non hacked console. 🙄
I would imagine majority of the pre orders were by scalpers. I made a pre order on the regular pro because 30th edition was gone. I was expecting the price to come out. 1 cent came out and was returned so basically you can pre order with 1 cent in your bank and if anyone is daft enough to pay somewhat 7 grand you make a 6 grand profit. While i wouldn't wish it for the ones that are getting for themselves or family. I would be satisfied if all were cancelled with them being contacted to verify in some form of way before being re applied

You shouldn’t be allowed to sell pre-orders to begin with as you don’t actually have in hand the product that you want to sell. I’ve bought and sold video game systems before in the past and I have always had in hand what I am actually selling before I go and sell it in case situations like this happens.

That's weird, because when I made my purchase I got an alert on my phone asking me did I make a purchase. I said yes, After it went through. If I said no it probably would have canceled my order. My order been confirmed.

I bet Sony Direct checks the PSN ID used to login & verifies that it belongs to an actual PlayStation gamer by checking the account creation date, trophies etc to ensure it is an actual gamer & not a scalper who just created an account to nab one.
I missed it by about 5 mins, I was in the night before and had to start over about 2 hours before it went live. It was just dumb luck if you happen to get in at the right time just before it went live, you get in too early and after 10 mins it kicks you out. But I got the 30th edge controller and that was a big part of it for me and I'll actually use it, if I had scored the 30th pro I'd probably keep it unopened and sealed in a box like many others for resell later so its just money that's lost
I'm in the UK I had a 6 min wait to get access to ps direct but the 30th anniversary bundle was gone I did buy the 30th anniversary edge controller and the ps5 30th anniversary slim was available but I didn't want it so bought a standard ps5 pro instead and left it at that.

I grew up a Sony & Nintendo fan. First systems were the original NES and PSone for me. Grew more attached to Nintendo with the GCN. Had the PS2 slim but didn’t play it much (I know.) Grew up with the DS and PSP era too. Don’t have a PS5 but have been wanting one for a while now. Tried aiming for the pro 30th but didn’t get into direct after the long queue wait until 11am. Scored none of the bundles, only got the controllers and portal (not complaining at all.) Gonna give 10/10 another shot at getting the digital bundle. This will be my first PlayStation system ever bought myself. Supposedly the pro 30th was a direct exclusive. Sucks, but one is better than none.
Unless the intent is to flip this console after purchase, why spend thousands of dollars for it? Surely, you could build a PC that could dance circles around the Pro with that budget. 😂
Probably came up as fraud because it charged twice. I got a regular pro ordered and it hit my account twice but it didn’t cause a cancel and the charges fell off as it was just checking that the account was good
PS5 has like twenty games in its library and the system has been out for four years and the PRO version is $699 without tax. SONY's working on the PS6 or Microsoft's new console/handheld system or the Nintendo Switch 2 system are a better option than the PS5 PRO or otherwise.

Yeah if I got one and it was canceled, I would be just as pissed too. I would be pissed at my bank. If that happened. Now if they are reselling it then that's good for them. I think it's bullshit they're only releasing 12k of them. They should have opened up pre-orders to everybody for a set amount of time. Then just build and number the amount ordered. That way everybody who wants one gets one and it would be useless to resell it, or at least way harder.
I was on the website since 2am bruh 😂😂😂 even said I was early, wake up at 9am put in a queue and waiting 2 hours later I’m finally in while everything is sold out. Things Sony should have done: 1. Should have made 123,000 PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary units rather than only 12,300 2. Should have made it available first for people that have BOTH an active PS+ membership, and also a long time PSN account that's at least 10 years or older.

I would be satisfied if all were cancelled with them being contacted to verify in some form of way before being re applied

If you purchased it to flip it you should def have your ordered cancelled. Item like this should be sold via PSN where it’s linked to PSN account.
thats why i paid with a credit card for the pro and the dual edge ( regular editions ) but it was 960$ but still playstation stated THE ORDER WILL NOT BE BILLED UNTIL ITS SHIPPED
You would think Playstations website would be able to detect bots and cancel their orders. They probably got more preorders than consoles avaliable.

You shouldn’t be allowed to sell pre-orders to begin with as you don’t actually have in hand the product that you want to sell. I’ve bought and sold video game systems before in the past and I have always had in hand what I am actually selling before I go and sell it in case situations like this happens.
They should honestly look into the gamers who spend the most in the ecosystem and give them an opportunity to get one before they go on sale.

if you are a scalper, your order should be canceled, but I stayed up all night put my money together and waited during the pre-order and still couldn’t order it but alas, I only wanted new skins and learned so many new colors are coming out for the slim so not all is lost
That's weird, because when I made my purchase I got an alert on my phone asking me did I make a purchase. I said yes, After it went through. If I said no it probably would have canceled my order. My order been confirmed.

I bet Sony Direct checks the PSN ID used to login & verifies that it belongs to an actual PlayStation gamer by checking the account creation date, trophies etc to ensure it is an actual gamer & not a scalper who just created an account to nab one.
I missed it by about 5 mins, I was in the night before and had to start over about 2 hours before it went live. It was just dumb luck if you happen to get in at the right time just before it went live, you get in too early and after 10 mins it kicks you out. But I got the 30th edge controller and that was a big part of it for me and I'll actually use it, if I had scored the 30th pro I'd probably keep it unopened and sealed in a box like many others for resell later so its just money that's lost
I'm in the UK I had a 6 min wait to get access to ps direct but the 30th anniversary bundle was gone I did buy the 30th anniversary edge controller and the ps5 30th anniversary slim was available but I didn't want it so bought a standard ps5 pro instead and left it at that.

I grew up a Sony & Nintendo fan. First systems were the original NES and PSone for me. Grew more attached to Nintendo with the GCN. Had the PS2 slim but didn’t play it much (I know.) Grew up with the DS and PSP era too.
Don’t have a PS5 but have been wanting one for a while now. Tried aiming for the pro 30th but didn’t get into direct after the long queue wait until 11am. Scored none of the bundles, only got the controllers and portal (not complaining at all.)
Gonna give 10/10 another shot at getting the digital bundle. This will be my first PlayStation system ever bought myself. Supposedly the pro 30th was a direct exclusive. Sucks, but one is better than none.
Sony needs to realize that this is just an opportunity for money hungry people, not their dedicated fans. xD

Probably came up as fraud because it charged twice. I got a regular pro ordered and it hit my account twice but it didn’t cause a cancel and the charges fell off as it was just checking that the account was good

Kept sealed and a couple years down the line, I think it will settle out there.
PS5 has like twenty games in its library and the system has been out for four years and the PRO version is $699 without tax. SONY's working on the PS6 or Microsoft's new console/handheld system or the Nintendo Switch 2 system are a better option than the PS5 PRO or otherwise.

Yeah if I got one and it was canceled, I would be just as pissed too. I would be pissed at my bank. If that happened. Now if they are reselling it then that's good for them. I think it's bullshit they're only releasing 12k of them. They should have opened up pre-orders to everybody for a set amount of time. Then just build and number the amount ordered. That way everybody who wants one gets one and it would be useless to resell it, or at least way harder.

Things Sony should have done:
1. Should have made 123,000 PS5 Pro 30th Anniversary units rather than only 12,300
2. Should have made it available first for people that have BOTH an active PS+ membership, and also a long time PSN account that's at least 10 years or older.
That would be stupid. If you already have a ps5 you dont need to buy another one. And i think you needed a ps account anyways.
