Ok I have a choice to make and I want everyone to vote..
I'm a beach Bob and I'm at level 36 and I really want a pteranodon saddle. And there is an alpha raptor near my base. Should I kill it?

What I would do is take off everything you have and put it in a chest and then aggro the alpha raptor and take him away far from your base or if you're near a cliff jump off with him (and don't forget about your bed in your base so you can respawn when you die.) Killing him will be hard without a pack of raptors (two raptors around lvl 70 is enough if he is a low lvl)
If you just started and don't have anything to protect yourself then the 1st option I told is recommended

do you have the ascendant bow from the dilo pursuit (if u do and the alpha is a low level try and kill it using your tames and bow)

Do a cave to get chitin for the saddle if that's a problem. Use the pteranodon to kill the alpha.

i killed a lvl 40 alpha raptor with only 1 lvl 70 stego, took long but my stego actually tanky af, i also helped attacking it with pike lol

He’s playing on a solo or boosted server. On regular official max level tends to be about 30 for wild creatures
