  • These kkwabaeggi (꽈배기), or twisted donuts, were one of my favorite after-school treats when I was a kid, something you can still find in many Korean bakeries and being sold on Korean streets today.

    I love how she likes recent comments. Like this video was made in 2015 and i can see that she liked a comment from two months ago. And it's like on all the videos. That shows real appreciation for her fans.❤
    Plus she has this motherly warm vibe I just feel like she's extremely likeable.
    I don't even cook and I'm such a huge fan. Bruuuh. The love is real❤

    My 60yr old mom is a little wary of foreign foods (mostly eats Mexicanfood), but since Ive started making some of these recipes, she has learned to LOOOVE Korean food. She even eats kimchi now. She now sits with me and watches these videos, and tells me we should try this or that. Im so happy to have found your vids

    Korean cuisine is so amazing and you are really opening the world's eyes to how wonderful Korean food really is, plus your character is unbeatable because you come across so genuine and you seem to enjoy and take pride in all you do, you're easily best cooking personality EVER!

      Yes we make it differently in different African countries. In my country we do not use yeast or egg so this is interesting for me. I want to try this. I always wondered why Chinese cream doughnuts that I buy were so airy and fluffy. Now I know it might be the yeast. I love this lady. She has definitely opened my eyes to Korean cuisine. I only knew of bulgogi!

      Brenda Jordan I don’t know which small package are you talking about. Are you asking about the active yeast? I used active dry yeast 8 g or 11 ml or 2-1/4 teaspoons.

    3 cups all purpose flour for doughnuts, plus 2 tablespoons for dusting
    2 tablespoons butter
    1 packet of dry yeast (about 2¼ teaspoons: 7 grams)
    5 tablespoons white sugar
    1 cup milk
    1 egg
    ½ teaspoon kosher salt
    corn oil for frying
    ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder

      3 of the 5 tablespoons of sugar is to use with the cinnamon in the paper bag in case you thought it's for the dough like me ;)

      @@mariheroma3698 No, the yeast dies. You have to cook all and than refrigerate. :)

      @@ireneyapguatngoh5019 I honestly don't know but what I do know is that it's all about proportion. 10g of dry yeast does 1000g of flour, use the amount of yeast you gonna use to measure the amount of flour, like of you gonna use 5g of dry yeast you gonna need 500g of flour. I hope I helped in someway :)

      We made them last night and we ate them almost all only 3 left i went to the market came home and they were gone...this recipe is by far thee most delicious recipe ive ever ever made and im a really well seasoned cook and baker candy maker cake decorator bread maker and this recipe is the only donut recipe ive ever made that has been really light fluffy and that crunch thin outter layer of crunch then this fluffy delightful soft airy dough oh my gosh. I think they asked me to make a double batch again today because someones mother has been craving a good warm donut and this recipe just cant get any better than this its perfection!

    I made these today because were under quarantine and omg they were so delicious!! So crispy outside and so fluffy inside. I was really nervous about making them but ultimately they came out so good!! So proud of myself!

    간식거리가 없던 어린시절 어머니는 일 나가시기전 새벽시간에 꽈배기 나 각종 야채 튀김을 한소쿠리씩 해놓고 나가시면 저희 5남매는 그걸 먹고 놀았습니다 주로 방학때 많이 해주신것같아요 그어머니도 이제 70이 훌쩍 넘으신 연세네요 잘봤습니다

    I just love all your recipes ❤️. I’m Korean but been in the states for over 45 yrs so cooking Korean food was always a challenge since I can’t read Korean. Ever since I discovered your channel I’ve learned so much from you! I have not bought Kim chee or go out for Korean food anymore. My kids love eating all my Korean meals.       I'm doing it rn. The dough is resting for the 2nd time. But it's sticky. It's not like hers. And I followed all the instructions.

      @@aminasey No actually, maybe you added more milk or not enough flour, you can knead the dough in a table while sprinkling some flour until it become smooth

    Love making these donuts when I was 7 years old. My grandmother used to make these everyday. She used to own a store and would sell different stuffs and also different snacks!     I am from Japan and visiting my fiancé in the U.S.
    It's so difficult to cook him now that I am in a country I had never been since this holiday visit.
    I stress out when I cook now.
    Reading recipes in English and using pounds and inches, products' name are unfamiliar and such.
    I had almost lost the interest in cooking but this was easy to follow and my fiancé loved them and ate 10 of those in 2days!!! His smile made me happy and want to cook more for him.
