I’m so glad someone rescued this little one from his horrific life as a “pet”....but my heart breaks for all the animals out there who won’t be so lucky. We need tougher laws and stricter punishment for the people who breed, sell, and abuse animals.

I’m a chicken farmer and I promise you I agree, however I need to eat animal protein to have a healthy life. I raise them for eggs and they free range as much as they want. Weather permitting. Zero cages involved. And when comes time to slaughter I handle it personally, and as quickly as humanly possible. It’s a harsh reality, but if you want the know the alternative.... watch animal planet.

His eyes are so expressive, you can see what he's been through. Poor thing, people are terrible. I'm so glad hes7improving and getting the care and love he deserves.

I know how you feel - I don't think humans will stop abusing, torturing and killing innocent animals until all humans are dead and gone. Animals aren't ours to do as we wish with but many people don't see it that way.

Same for me, kit. I think the horror and stress of our knowledge that we are destroying the earth - plus the awful state of world leadership - is really getting to many of us. I think I feel a bit more depressed every day. Finding happy things is getting harder in 2019.

@@zachjohnson9391 He is NOW. He was rescued by this group, and up until they saved him, his “family” kept him in a chicken cage and only gave him evaporated milk. A terrible neglect of a baby, undernourished and unable to move because the cage was so small.
In the beginning, after he was rescued, he couldn’t sit or stand and was in tremendous pain all the time. His belly was swollen and he had fluid retention all over his body. His hands and feet were curled up from lack of movement.
In the beginning of this video, you see a vet propping him up with pillows and blankets and even just the smallest movements had him screaming in pain. The Dodo put cutesy animations and cut the sound, to make it all sunshine and lollipops, Disneyized for our consumption. That’s how bad off Budi was, he was literally on the brink of death when he was rescued.
Now he is healthy and they are teaching him all the things his mother would have taught him had he not been stolen from her. They are giving him an abundance of the love he never received from the family who had him.
That is what the OP meant, they know the animal group has been changing his life, but is acknowledging the awful way he was treated as a baby.

Soooo the info states his first year of life he was kept in a chicken coop and only fed condensed milk which was slowly killing him. His first year was unfortunate

What people don't talk about is palm oil deforestation. A billion dollar industry. Palm oil is found in about 60% of all products we consume - from soap to makeup, bread, donuts and biscuits. Orangutans are displaced, burn or starve to death from the fires deliberately set to clear the forests.
Please check labels and try to avoid buying anything with palm oil in it🌳🙏🏼
Deforestation happens... the palm oil you have in the kitchen cabinet, mining, pulp n paper companies.
@@ilove2929 sustainable deforestation is fine, but Big Corp is involved here. There are absolutely alternatives to palm oil if you do some research. Eg vegetable oil from sunflowers, olive oil, avocado oil. Big Corp are wantonly destroying vast swathes of land, esp in Indonesia and Malaysia and as a result, orangutans are now endangered. There really are alternatives. Not easy I know, but then neither is surviving an apocalypse.

@Ann Moore I'm sure he has heard of the zoo. Obviously they are referring to the fact that no one should purposly contribute to taking any animal from the wild to be a pet. But that's just my guess.

Humans have managed to negative impact every living species on Earth including the environment.
I feel the same way. IAR, and other rescues, encounters this way too often. People think they can keep them like a baby, because they're so adorable. Then they have no idea how to take care of them, or the babies get too big to handle and they're just locked up because people are afraid to call for help in fear of getting in trouble with the law. It's so sad. Thank goodness for rescues like IAR.

I would LOVE to work/volunteer at a wildlife refuge like this some day. It would be a life long dream come true. I don’t see how it could get better than this, doing something that you know is truly making a difference!!

When he was climbing, I was cheering him on and when he and his new best friend began playing, it was so touching knowing he'll have someone to enjoy the good things of life with. Such a nice video. Thank you for sharing. Take care ❤

Just ignore the argument going on above my comment here, but the reason you're crying is most likely that you're sad to know the horrible suffering this baby had to endure, but are happy that a team of very good people helped save his life to one day release him where he belongs. Orangutans are notorious for their good memory, so something tells me Budi here may not forget the pain that was caused to him, but I have a good feeling that pain will be trumped and overshadowed by the love and the kindness given to him by these wonderful people in his time of need. :)

I just love this baby so much and the other one in the video too ...I wish I could kiss his face.. hold him and make things so good for him.. this video helps show the world these persons really have souls. Budi!! I’ve been following this sweet little baby on his journey to recovery since 2016 I believe and have always wondered what he’s been up to! Thank goodness he’s doing well and he looks much older now! Bless these nurses for taking care of him! Go Budi go!!
