“Fun fact”, I saw the Noisettes live at a music festival in Switzerland on the day Amy Winehouse died. Amy Winehouse was scheduled to play that night too, that’s why I had a ticket, but she had cancelled a while before. She was replaced by singer Mika, whom I think you’ve also reacted to. It’s a small world…
This whole album is great..
Wow. Noisette is the french for hazelnut. I always thought there should be a group called the Noisettes. Glad to see there is
😂thanks for pointing that out ! I had no idea Noisettes meant something else
Good call on calling out the Winehouse/Ronettes sound. I love this song SO much but I honestly don't know anything else from this band. I'd heard once that this song sounds like nothing else in their catalogue so I never looked anything else up. But wow, what a song! And so rare to have the lead singer be the bass player!
Right! And dang too bad they didn’t become bugger
They are giving the 60s girl group sound. Her tone has specs of Amy Winehouse, Lauryn Hill and Macy Gray.
💯💯🔥
Its a shame The Noisettes never blew up in the US like they should have. Wild Young Hearts is still an excellent album!! Don't Upset the Rhythm, and the title track are both great listens.
