Considering how the max in the US anywhere is 85 MPH, unless dawg was in Texas he's looking at 25 over the limit, at the LEAST most likely he was in the 30 or 40 range. That's a reckless driving charge so he most definitely got rekt.

Leaving it on is also not the proper way to run radar. I was trained by the CHP on RADAR/LIDAR and there was a whole process to it. Leaving the radar running is a poor practice.

Luke, I will make more, but I cannot show the traffic stop. It is against my department's policy. I might try to request my dash cam footage, but I would need to do a FOIA for that... too much work!
I meant like show the chase! You could cut it off as soon as they slow down, I just think it would be cool to see a little bit of you speeding down the highway with flashing lights!

You're right. I still use my radar often in school zones where the effect is moreso to keep people paying attention to their speed. I don't go out with the intention or desire to ticket people but some people intend to ticket themselves. 😆

How do you work with that infernal radar noise all night long?
I actually don't run RADAR all that often, but one acquires an immunity to the noise.

im about to become an officer, i kinda like it... it may be louder and more ear piercing IRL so i dont know .
You can turn the volume down. It gets to a point that you don't even need to look at the numbers, the pitch will let you know how fast they are going.
You get used to it after running it everyday...You pretty much tone it out until you hear that high pitch sound meaning someone is speeding.
That had to be a whopping ticket.

So I got pulled over and got a citation for going 61MPH on a 30MPH. I was speeding but I wasn't going over 50. I looked down to check my speed and saw 45 on the speedometer when I saw a Police Officer driving on the opposite direction and he seemed really far away. And I did slow down but still got pulled over for going 61. It really didn't seem that I was going that fast... since it was a really narrow road. Maybe I was just not so focused. But the gentleman that pull me over remained very professional. I just want to know if it might've been an error. Please answer

yo digital, what happens if your radar accidentally clocks someone on the other side of the highway speeding just as someone on your side passes by doing the limit? Is it easy to tell when it's a false positive?
Draco Malformed That's when officer training can tell the difference. Officers can tell the difference just with experience. Training adds to that. Those are rookie mistakes and sometimes rookies do make those mistakes. It happened to me. A trained and experienced officer can spot the faster traveling vehicle.

Typically you have to give a car a visual estimate. The radar just confirms the visual estimate
Officers are taught how to track a vehicle. If they data displayed doesn't match watch you see, it is most likely "batching", or giving a bad reading. Radars are used only verify what you see.

So how does this work? Is it picking up a large amount of electrical interference from the alternator of the other motorist? say like old mobile phones interfering with radios when getting texts and what not.
Dj Morgan it only detects reflected microwaves, so it's detecting something that is moving that may not be visible to the operator. I was on top of a bridge so it was getting cars on the lower level.

Dj Morgan radars have been known to pick up moving vehicle parts such as fans and belts if the antenna is aimed incorrectly

So how is it held up in court when the radar is flashing 55 then 34 then in the 60's is the radar not getting a complete reading so you just ignore those cars? Do you have to get a lock on or a solid number to perform a stop?

I got pulled on my bike doing 137 I was actually doing 160 but I guess by the time I hit the corner I slowed down a bit. It was a bad day. I should of ran, I would of got away easy but I got scared and slowed down as soon as I seen him on the side of the road. I didn't get arrested so I guess I should thank that cop.
