i remembered this show so vividly but i didn’t know the name of it til a couple months ago. although i only watched the show are reruns it has to be one of the weirdest/interesting shows
The fact that even 30 years later is still making an impact and has such a cult following says something for the iconic series. I wonder how much more is lost, and who knows? Maybe someday it could be revived, but it would never be exactly the same probably and there's nothing else like it.
I used to watch this on HBO Family, it was nostalgic for me but strangely surreal. My favourite was the one where you had to guess who a person was on a haunted house.

Ayyy, I was the subscriber who suggested Crashbox! I'm so glad who not only took it into consideration but made a whole video about it! Shockingly, I never watched the show as a child but I found out about it because an Instagram account I follow had posted pictures of Jumpin' Johnny Jumble. I was really fascinated by the character design, theming, and style that I just had to figure out where it was from. The show's very nostalgic to me due to the collage-like aesthetic that reminds me of Charlie and Lola or Chowder or skits found on Sesame Street or Between the Lions. If I recall correctly, I think there are bumpers for the show missing but it's been assumed they're lost to time. I guess you could also consider the sets and stop motion characters of the show missing since no one really knows what happened to them (or has asked as far as I know.) I'm glad to have unlocked some of your childhood memories! You did a great job on the video!
I glad you enjoyed it, thank you for the suggestion! Yes, I saw that there were some lost bumpers for the show as well. Its just so easy for old bumpers to become lost become lost simply because they’re only ever seen on television and many people just don’t think to preserve them.
I totally remember this show! I used to watch crashbox, a little curious, and a show i think called kindergarten? They all have eerie vibes in my opinion 😳
I remember watching all of those shows listed as well as I Spy and Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child on HBO Jam. I have vivid memories of seeing commercials for the Stuart Little animated series too. I miss that morning block.
I also watched all these as a kid, and it's crazy to see how much HBO Family content i vividly remember is lost media now. Some episodes of A Little Curious, some episodes of Storybook Musical, almost all the ad bumpers...
Man, I loved crashbox as a kid (even though for the longest time I was horrified of it so much mom has to hold me down to watch it). To hear that there were lost episodes of it kinda is nice cause back when I watched it On Demand they missed ~10 episodes.
Eddie Bull, he's edible! He really is incredible! He's simply the best of the bunch! There's simply no disguising! That he's so appetizing! And we want him for our lunch!
this video unlocked a deep memory in my brain lol.. i totally remember watching this when my family was living in a hotel in Winnipeg because my dad was gonna be there working for a couple weeks... that hotel was cool asl there was two bunk beds and a playstation 2 in our room and an indoor water slide.. sorry im ranting in yr comment section but its such an oddly specific memory thank u
DUDE!!! I REMEMBER THIS SHOW. It always scared me a little as a kid lol. I think my first introduction to it was when I wanted to watch Little Einsteins on TV, but my step brother put Crashbox on instead. It was such a fever dream of a show!! Heck, I even remember watching what was possibly a marathon of the show on *multiple* occasions(mainly on accident). This show had such a vibe to it!! It very much felt like watching a dream in real time, and for the longest time, I thought I did dream it up. It wasn't until 5 minutes ago when my friend had a Crashbox pfp of one of the characters that it helped confirm that I didn't hallucinate/dream up the show. Somehow finding out it had lost episodes adds to the dream vibe. Crashbox is definitely a show that was locked away in my mind, but not completely forgotten. It's one of those things that needed a little push to come out. Thank you for making this video :]
Idk why but this is reminding me of a short i watched when i was little that still pops up on my mind. I think it was a Halloween special because of the dark nature of it. The story is this, a old man is trying to sleep but is disturb by a Frankenstein outside so the old man barricades the door. But the Frankenstein manages to open the door and goes in the house. The old man doesn't know what to do so the last thing he does is to hide in the TV but when he lights up hes candle he sees 2 kid bones laying there. The old man screams then the camera zooms out of the house, then it ends like that. This short traumatized me for years even now so i hope you see this and try to find it cause i looked everywhere for it and no hope. Fan of your content keep doing what your doing! P E A C E!! Edit- my spelling sucks so i hope my grade schooler hand writing doesn't get in the way of this mystery trying to solve. Thx
Great video! It's always great seeing more content from you! :) As a suggestion, though, could you maybe put a warning for the flashing from 4:36 to 4:43 in the description? I'm not photosensitive myself, but it's always good to be considerate towards our epileptic friends. :)
I barely remember this show from years ago and think of it every once and a while but never knew the name so I always just assumed it was something I made up in my head. Finding out that some of it’s lost makes it even more allusive to me now
I watched Crashbox whenever I had sleepovers with my cousins. I like the concept of it. It would have been cool if someone adapted it into a video game.
Interesting, I remember when I made my video of all Crashbox episodes back in 2020 and being confused that there were missing episodes I couldn’t find. I thought they just didn’t exist. I got to go watch them now. Great video!
There was a cartoon I saw in January 2008 (this was in the US) on HBO Family between episodes of "Crashbox" and “Lyle, Lyle Crocodile” that I cannot find. It was narrated by a man with a British accent. A mouse sneaks into a home's living room in the middle of the night. He goes either behind the couch or up to the grandfather clock and starts gnawing on it while whispering, "Sweetness, sweetness." The next scene shows an owl not far from the house who spots a light on a car. He flies over to it and declares he is in love with it. A man comes up to the car (it turns out to be a taxi) and unsuccessfully tries to shoo the owl away. He gets into the car and drives it onto a small wooden bridge. When the owl asks why they've stopped, the man replies, "It's time to play." He gets out and starts playing a trumpet. I only recall this little bit because I was quite ill and drifting in/out of sleep, but I know at least some of it was real and not a fever dream. It really stuck with me, especially the man playing his trumpet alone on the bridge in the middle of the night.
I remember finding this show on the 'on demand' section of cable TV during the late 2000's. I remember I would always try to watch it when bored, but for some reason I would never make it past the intro. It just freaked me out
Hmm, either the pilot aired in the 6th of January or the 1st of June. I think that means that whatever the original source was listed the date as 1/6/99 or 6/1/99 and it was interpreted differently. Assuming both the show and the source are American, finding that original source probably has the answer.
ight you're probably the most underrated channel I've ever seen. I can tell by how your content seems to be showing up in reccomend that you're finna get the recognition and subscribers you deserve. Next thing you know you're gonna have a raycon and hunt a killer sponsorship
This is certainly a piece of media I’d never thought would be lost media. I used to watch this along with I Spy using On Demand back in the late 2000’s. Certainly hope the episodes will be found.
I thought these were characters i made up in my dreams when i was a kid, completely forgot about this show, im a a little curious and i spy were the other shows too. This is brings back tons of memories.
So I actually found out that there’s a lost segment/game in Crashbox! The segment would’ve been called “Lost Suitcase”, and It would be about a man in a top hat with (you guessed it) a suitcase. Little is known about this segment and why it was cut, but you can still see the suitcase logo for the game in the intro, right before the computer opens. There’s also a few found clips of the lost suitcase in some of the other episodes, like in episode 13 during “psycho math.” I think the game would’ve been like a lost and found type of game, where you would have to find the man in the top hat’s suitcase. This could’ve also been an earlier concept of Lens McCracken’s game. I’d love to hear what you have to think about this! ❤️
I thought it was a fever dream until of all days I went to the store Aldis with my parents and remembered the name and searched it up and after my 13 years of life I found my favorite yet kinda creepy child hood show
Oh my goodness. I just came across your channel and thanks to you I have found this show again. Like you I was on vacation and this was on T.V. I don’t remember much but that opening with all the mechanical stuff, the skeleton pirate, and of course the revolting slob. I was much much younger then and my memory of it is not that great at all. The revolting slob stuck out like a sore thumb however. Scared me half to death when I watched it. After all of these years I try asking my parents about a kid show that I saw when on vacation that was very unique. Some show with this creepy fat guy. And I never got anywhere. No matter what I searched I couldn’t find it. You have no idea how many different things I searched trying to find it. As soon as I saw the revolting slob in my recommendations I recognized him immediately. I thank you for putting this hunt to rest. Now I can look back at what scared me so bad as a kid👍
Have you seen a little curious or pinky dinky doo? I hear pinky has a lost pilot and a little curious has lost episodes, however idk if there's enough info for a sperate video
I used pinky dinky doo as a kid, but I don’t remember much from it! I didn’t watch little curious but it’s been suggested to me, so I’ll look into it for a future video :)
This show kind of used to creep me out a little bit with it's styles. The Revolting Slob scared the hell out of me and was where I would usually skip that show whenever I've watched these programs.
The reason why episodes 27 through 39 weren’t found for so long was because they aren’t on HBO Max. They were on Crave, a Canadian streaming service.
You mean HBO Max? or HBO Mac
@@Dezlite Fixed it.
I had no clue that this show had missing content. Definitely one of the weirdest shows from my childhood.
I remembered this show for some reason to from my childhood. Probably because the puppets were kinda creepy.

I hate the Revolting Slob

Interesting that both our memories of this show took place in hotel rooms!
I grew up with this show and loved everything about it and this video gave me happy memories
Crashbox was one of my favorite shows I just remembered it.
I think this show is what got me into unsettling stop motion animation. It's on HBO Max and even now it's still super uncanny.
