Used to be you could drive over to James Peak and to Kingston Peak, but the Forest Service closed the trails. Glad I found your videos, helps me relive my youth and you adulthood on those trails. Now I'm stuck in Ohio. The road between Tolland and Central City I remember driving a T-Bird over it. When I was there in 2018 to scatter my mother's ashes at one of the James Peak trailheads, I found I wouldn't take that road now w/o a jeep, it has so deteriorated.
Thanks for sharing another one Justin. We try to do a few different trails every time we visit Co. But being from Ky and only having about 2 wks we spend a lot of travel time just to get to Co or Ut then home again..... I have put Kingston Peak on my bucket list....
Great video again. My 4wd club Norac keeps up the west magnolia side of Kingston. We did a lot of the buck&rail near the space house not too long ago. The trail is absolutely a beauty when there’s no fog. See ya around!
What a beautiful Drive!! me and a friend " and my doggy" went hiking up around Rampart Range Rd yesterday, Was just SO NICE with No townys up there trashing the place. I simply Love Just driving around like you guys do. Thanks for Sharing the Drive!!
The narrative of this video sounded like you where saying you don’t get out much ?! My last several trips into the hills have felt more like Scottish Highlands than Colorado Alpines!! That whole trail system is lovely, loads of photo ops. Ironic huh?!
Thanks for taking us along on your escapade. I really enjoy videos of mountain trail riding. Excellent stuff. But did you really take us too Kingston Peak? I mean it was all a fog to me....
We've got all the smoke here in north Idaho today. I went out into the St. Joe valley to do a little gold panning and was within 25 miles of the Tumbledown fire. You couldn't see the mountains from a mile away.
it is doing very well in all aspects with exception to 1. maintaining highway speed going up I70 west of denver. I struggled to maintain 70 mph up floyd hill. engine was just flat out screaming and best I could do was about 67.
this trail is supposed to be super scenic, but we didn't get much of that lol! gonna have to do it again on a blue sky day with no smoke and clouds here.
@@JustinKingOffroad At the 9:15 or mark, the windshield wiper noise did not sound like that kind of noise -- especially when I was looking some where else.
You didn't see the ghost of Chris McCandless up by the old school bus did you? JK, did you guys know they took the old school bus out where Chris died up in Alaska.

Nice ride. Was up there last weekend! Great trail, great video.
Glad to see the Trooper that lost his transmission wasn't still stuck on the N. side of Kingston when I was up there on Friday.
Great video thank you!
Temperature is my kinda weather. Do without the fog though. Looks like would have been some great views. Thanks for the ride. 👍

haven't got out nearly as much as expected this year.
Hope you got to see some alpine lakes!!! There’re around that area
It looks like that here in north Idaho today except it's all smoke🥵
colorado has been really bad lately too. but all the rain in the last 24 hours really cleared it up.

No smoke today, all clouds.

Bring A Rock from home for the rock box!! and watch out for Lomie
Nice! I do this every year. It’s a tradition.
Nice video, as always. Did you guys have to do anything with ARES with the flooding and everything a couple weeks ago?
The larimer eoc was staffed but I'm not on that team. So I didn't have to do anything.
Thanks for the video it was great.. Are you still happy with your JL 4 cylinder or do wish you had gone with the v6?

LOVE 4X4 IN THE OVERCAST WEATHER!
It sure changes the experience lol
Eeeerie looking stuff man, I love it

Too bad about the rain and fog, but at least you got some great views at the top.
What’s the group you referred to, just friends or a club? Thanks
just a small group of friends that wheel like mindedly.
Justin how does the turbo 4 cylinder do with the altitude
Wonderful actually!
Nice I'm getting back into a jeep thinking a gladiator
@@michaelstrickland1923 those have really grown on me. I'm holding out for a bronco though now lol.
How do you like 2.0? I just ordered one. Hoping I made a good choice.
It's a very impressive motor, larger tires could stand a regear of the axles on steep highway passes, but it flat out goes.
@@JustinKingOffroad thanks for reply. It’s going to be on the road mostly. Wife daily driver. I have a TJ for adventure. I enjoy the videos. 73 N9IBQ
The trail moved because heaven forbid you might need 4 wheel drive! Just hate it when it happens here in Moab.
yeah kinda annoying
@@JustinKingOffroad It could also be that the road turns into a river when the spring snow melts.
you think it’s still open past the gate?
should be until the snow starts to get deep. usually around november.
@@JustinKingOffroad sick man, thanks. heading out friday with my taco!
What's the rattle noise? :-)
forgot to secure the hi-lift handle lol!
