As a WA state resident I can tell you that Representative Smith is just another part of the problem, passing bad legislation and legislation that is redundant, ineffective and overreach in some cases. As a former property owner in Smith's district I feel that he represents what I consider to be absolutely one of the worst areas one could live or visit. The crime is out of control, tents, drugs, burglary, you name it. The area Smith represents used to be highly respected for cleanliness and safety but is currently a wretched scene. Bellevue is better but the average person couldn't afford to live there. Wasteful firearms regulations that absolutely serve no value but to deny firearms to law abiding citizens that can no longer obtain semi-auto rifles because the legislation labels them "assault" rifles. Magazine restrictions that deny law abiding gun owners use of the magazines that were shipped with the firearms is another. To provide clarity the state used the results of a study that stated if a school shooter only had a 10 round magazine that children would have the opportunity to escape in the time that the criminal was swapping for a new one. The documents REALLY atated that. It's ridiculous and restrictive to implement these laws. Reps like Smith have made it impossible for LEOs to perform their duties and deterred good cops from working in the area because the criminals are now the favored. Legislation that gives importance of race/gender over merit is destructive and it shows. That said, my biggest complaint of Smith is his recent description of the Obama presidency as GREAT, the Biden admin as GREAT. Biden was losing in national polls before the media started acknowledging what most of us already knew, because the policies of the party were destroying the nation. Now the legacy establishment knows that Biden is losing badly and so are Smith's peers so he is speaking out about Biden. Biden was nearly just as unfit in 2020 but Smith wouldn't have said anything then. It won't matter in WA because Smith's district rules all of the surrounding areas and east of the mountains, where there is common sense and no tents. It is the rest of the country that will vote to end this absolute train wreck that Smith claims is a success.
@RScott413 I, for one, support most of Rep. Smith's legislation. We do need better gun laws and to fight racism. If these things weren't a problem, we wouldn't need laws. Biden has passed more significant legislation since LBJ. Polls have nothing to do with legislation. Trumpedo, fake Christians, and the billionaires/corporations who don't pay their fair share in taxes are ruining the country. That is why I always laugh when people refer to the Democrat party as the Democratic party when it is far from that, then have the nerve to claim "Democracy is on the ballot" while the party funds and supports prosecutions of the opponent because the court is in a partisan region. Cases meant to harm the opponent politically knowing that the Cases will be overturned on appeal.
What in world is wrong with those Democratic politicians? No body cares about what they think. If they were not on the ticket with Joe Biden, we would not know who the heck they are. Joe Biden said that he is not dropping out so they should leave it at that! Get on board or shut up and get the hell out of the way. They are just making us sad, depressed and giving us anxiety and fear. My family and I have decided not to watch anymore cable news until after the election.
