He Lost His Sight-but Not His Passion for Skateboarding | The New Yorker Documentary - Кино
This hits so hard. About 2 months ago I started to lose my vision, after a severe infectious conjunctivitis. I'm a med student, and I thought I'd might not ever see again and that it would mean my life would be over. But after watching your journey, I see life happens however you are, whether you can see or not, and you can be happy; you can be okay. I've had my vision back for a while now, but after seeing this, I can't stop crying. thank you.
🌹🌹🌹❤️❤️❤️
glad i’m not the only one crying like a baby
@@si4947 nope😇
They just entered skateboarding into the Olympics. They should enter it into the Paralympics immediately, too! All the best to your endeavors! Thank you very much for letting the New York Times share this!
He overcame, he adapted, he learned to live again. Truly inspiring stuff. :^)
What a inspiring young man. He’s got more to offer than so many men out there who can see but lack motivation and a vision.
As someone who recently started skating, this was truly beautiful to watch. I especially love what he said about failure and the feeling of falling.
So touched by Justin's story. As a Skateboarder myself it has made me even more determined.
This is an awesome video for me. I am a 60 year old Skateboarder and even though I went 20 years without riding in the middle of my 47 years since I started I decided to ride again on my 40th Birthday and this year I will be riding my skateboard on my 61st Birthday...God willing, I am willing. Just uploaded a skateboarding video on my channel last week 😁🙏Thank you Jesus for the Bubble Wrap Suit 😎
That is bloody amazing lad. Just bloody amazing!
I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.
Such an incredible story of determination and the will to live LIFE . Very inspired by Justin’s journey and the future for blind skaters
I'm crying my eyes out while watching this. Such an amazing story.
That was a lot of emotions
A bacteria are my right cornea. Everything went black in my right eye in a matter of days. I kind of understand what you went through when you couldn’t see your feet… ran into things. This made me cry. You’re the man. Thank you for inspiring others.
I am 43 and still skating, I am thankful to have people like you on thus earth and in the skate community
This guy rips! The tricks he's doing are insane. He has a beautiful, loving wife and an unstoppable spirit. Lucky guy.
Thanks for sharing your story, Justin! Such an inspiring journey. I just want to go outside and skate after watching this! ♥️
the kickflip analogy is dope! learn to kick flip twice in life! Yes
Thank you for sharing your story! Inspiring.Never stop!
Your story is amazing Justin never give up you got this amazing person keep it up I love watching you on TikTok
Loved it...thank you for sharing!
I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.
This piece does not have audio description for people who are blind or visually impaired. I find that ironic considering the subject of this mini documentary. I, like Justin, am legally blind and am unable to see what is happening in the video. It would have been wonderful if people who are blind were thought of in the making and posting of this video. Inclusion matters.
I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.

This is amazing, I have failed at do much in life and at times I still feel like a failure, but hearing this story makes me feel like my failures are so insignificant
LOVE for this!
Total legend 👊
I’ve skated in some of those spots in this video. Desert breeze in Las Vegas and the mini ramp set up in blue diamond just outside of Vegas. I haven’t skated in probably close to 10 years. This is gonna get me back out there and teach my
Son. No excuses anymore. Such an inspiration ❤️

Until I met a blind man
Who taught me how to see
god I love Justin so much 💪🏻
I also have RP, I got diagnosed at 21 when my daughter was 1, I’m now 26 still with some vision my peripheral vision is going, I have good days and bad days but I make sure most of them are good ones, I just keep saying to myself that *I’m still here still breathing* that’s most important, I’m still going to be here for when my daughter grows up even if I can’t see her (Yh will be 100% hard not gonna lie but I’m still with her), I did have an amazing friend who was completely blind (not RP) and we’d go over to his house and have a chat and cup of tea about life and how happy he is and what he went through and that he’ll always be there for me when I loose my sight but unfortunately he passed in September due to covid and other health issues
Why ins't this viral. As a former skater, I definitely love/hate this guy.
