I lived for 37 years in the southeast of Sweden, 30 km east of Ystad nowadays I live in the north, in a small town called Jokkmokk. I think you visited the pottery in Ystad 42.20, at the beach to the left of the harbour in Kåseberga you can find amber, you should come in the winter to the north to see the Aurora Borealis, visit the Icehotel and the famous winter market in Jokkmokk.
Great video. You visited so much and said hello to so many ducks. Pro tip though, you wait with the Älska Mig greeting until you meet a person for the second time.
Nice video. I live in Haga and would recommend any tourist here to visit it. At night time on a weekday it feels like walking down Diagon ally. The village in Abisko looks beautiful as well.

Thank you! The north I really wanted to see more of but it was difficult to fit in my schedule. Figured I could do the north of the north as possible 😅. Adjusting to the sleep schedule was a bit of a challenge up there.
@@RobDeMann Haha I get that. It's not uncommon to have thick black curtians that totally dims the midnight sun in ones bedroom. Come back to the north during the winter and try out the constant darkness. :) That is something to experience (+ northen lights, snowboarding, snowmobiles, ice skating, ice fishing and much, much more).
I see you visited lots of churches in every town you visited. What didn't get mentioned is the fact that Sweden is one if not the most irreligious countries in the world. There's still lots of people that are members of the swedish church despite not believing or ever going to a church. That's because baptizing is quite common and when doing so, the child becomes a member of the church and have to actively choose to leave once they turn 18. With that said... awesome video and I'm glad you loved our beautiful country!

@@RobDeMannYeah! Interesting and in fact laudable as an idea, but the construction quality left much to wish for, and the brothers who had the idea are seemingly not rich enough to make repairs and upkeep. The other often heard criticism, that it's a ghost town whose inhabitants work in Lund or Malmö is less fair, because that's the situation in all of the suburbs around Malmö and Lund. The rest of Hjärup, on the other side of the railway, is equally dead. But visitors don't come there, so no-one reports that. 😉

About 90% of all (over 15) Swedish people understand talk and and write/read English..that's funny more percent of people speaking and understand English than america( 79%) Swedes starts learning english at age 7 in school and the movies and media/tv isn't dubbed.. In Sweden its extremely common that people are fluent in 3-4 languages with English German French as top 3
@@gmm5550 that’s amazing!! A lot of Swedish are multilingual speakers haha! I’m not too surprised about America because we have a lot of foreigners come to the United States and depending on where you live you don’t ever need to learn much English to get by. There are some areas in my neighborhood, people barely speak English but because the locals all speak a similar foreign language they can communicate easily.
@@RobDeMann Ill think one reason except schools and education its the non dubbed media /tv and movies that makes all Nordic people so fluent in English and other languages at a early age, Compared to Germany France Italy Spain and Portugal that dubs their media/ movies and tv.. Reading subtitles and hearing another language gives u free education and understanding from a early age
@@gmm5550 You are bragging and exaggerating like crazy. I'm not fluent at all. I hate when I have to speak English. Especially so with other swedes (that got some foreign guest they adore).
@@herrbonk3635 well do a search there are statistics and investigations . And just because YOU dont like to speak english doesn't mean that u dont understand it at all..that say's more about u than Swedes in general
@@gmm5550 Of course I understand it! I have to write in English every day. But that is not the same as being comfortable using it for either small talk or long intricate intellectual discussions. Especially not when 90% or more of the participants are swedish. It just feels silly. And more serious research shows other things. One example is that university courses given in English produces significanly less actual (or deep) understanding of the subject. Compared to the same course given in the mother tongue. We are simply not as fluent as some people imagine. Not even the young.

12:23 That's the church where we as conscripts were ordered to swear allegiance to the swedish king and the christian god. In Gothenburg people don't know why their city is called Lilla London/Little London and couldn't care less. Anyhow, guess it's better than being perceived as "The Venice of the North". Stockholm, along with around 40 other European cities including Birmingham, shares that fate.

Appreciate the feedback - there were so many beautiful places I had to cut out - especially in northern and central Sweden unfortunately. Definitely next time I'll visit them. Thank you for the recommendations, tack sa mycket!!
That’s awesome, thank you for sharing!! Jokkmokk was on my list of places to go but next time for sure.
Im glad you hade a nice visit in my country Sweden 🇸🇪 Robert!
Cheers 🍻
Thank you!! Thank you for watching!!!! I appreciate you 😁. Cheers 🍻
Great video. You visited so much and said hello to so many ducks. Pro tip though, you wait with the Älska Mig greeting until you meet a person for the second time.
Haha! The ducks were cute ☺️. Ahhh ok appreciate the tip. No wonder why my greeting didn’t turn out so well!! 😅
Nice video. I live in Haga and would recommend any tourist here to visit it. At night time on a weekday it feels like walking down Diagon ally. The village in Abisko looks beautiful as well.
Thanks for sharing! Yes Haga is definitely a must visit place for sure in Gothenburg. Thank you for watching!!
You are the first of these "i went to sweden" videos that I see, that is not ONLY in Stockholm. You actually went to the north as well. Creds to you for that.
Thank you! The north I really wanted to see more of but it was difficult to fit in my schedule. Figured I could do the north of the north as possible 😅. Adjusting to the sleep schedule was a bit of a challenge up there.

Haha I get that.
WOW! I'm from Sweden and I'm jealous of all these places you've been to that I didn't even know we had =) Great video!
@@pvakt haha!! Yes I wanted to travel to many places as possible and experience a feeling for different regions of Sweden. Thank you for watching!!
Thanks for the fact! That’s a good catch. Appreciate you watching the video! Thanks you so much!! Tack!

I don't know how to feel about Jakriborg, it's such an interesting but weird projekt! I mean it looks really authentic though, but liek you said. Kind of like a movie set!
Yup!! I have mixed feelings about it, after hearing the complaints many of the locals have about living conditions. Hope it gets better down the road!
Very nice vlog! Not sure if you were lucky or unlucky with the weather. Seemed to be a bit windy wherever you went ;D

It is the 4th oldest in the Nordic countries (Helsinki - founded in Turku, the other one founded in Sweden but not in Scandinavia was Tartu in what is now Estonia).
Uppsala, Sweden -1477
Copenhagen, Denmark -1478
Tartu, Estonia - founded in Tartu, Sweden 1632 (same town)
Helsinki/Helsingfors, Finland - founded in Åbo, Sweden 1640 (what is now Turku/Åbo, Finland)

Thank you for the translation!! Wow that is interesting to know.
7:07 I believe he said "Jag brukar leva efter att inte låta tankar ta upp för mycket plats i ditt huvud utan, mer, låta det passera som löv på floden"
Yes that’s right! He gave me the English version too haha
About 90% of all (over 15) Swedish people understand talk and and write/read English..that's funny more percent of people speaking and understand English than america( 79%)
Swedes starts learning english at age 7 in school and the movies and media/tv isn't dubbed..
@@RobDeMann Ill think one reason except schools and education its the non dubbed media /tv and movies that makes all Nordic people so fluent in English and other languages at a early age,
Compared to Germany France Italy Spain and Portugal that dubs their media/ movies and tv..
If you travel to Sweden alone and want to have some company for certain events or places, there are plenty of Facebook Groups and Apps that help you get in touch with other travelers or Swedes willing to hang out. 🎉

12:23 That's the church where we as conscripts were ordered to swear allegiance to the swedish king and the christian god. They later on removed this practice from the swedish conscription system (7-15 months of military service for any male 18 years or older). It felt kinda weird at the time seeing as Sweden theoretically enjoys religious freedom.

In Gothenburg people don't know why their city is called Lilla London/Little London and couldn't care less. Anyhow, guess it's better than being perceived as "The Venice of the North". Stockholm, along with around 40 other European cities including Birmingham, shares that fate.
Ah ok. They should be more creative in giving better unique nicknames haha

Nope, Sweden is the 5th largest country in Europe. Denmark isn’t even in the top 20.
