Thanks for a great reaction. Sinful Passion was originally written and performed in 1998 by a Russian-based Kazakh band called A-Studio.
Dimash first performed it at the International Contest of Young Pop Singers, opening night in the New Wave Hall, Sochi where he was accompanied by A-Studio. At the end of the performance, Dimash humbly thanked A-Studio. You can watch the Sochi performance here (with English subtitles)

The interesting Vocal style Dimash used towards the end of the song is called a vocal trill which is a classical technique and is the least familiar of the vocal manoeuvers. A singer with an even, rapid trill is a rarity. The director of the Rossini Opera Festival, Alberto Zedda has opined in interview that the "widespread technical deficiency", the inability to trill, is a source of "frustration and anguish". But of course Dimash does it to perfection and it’s wonderful that he’s introduced this classical technique into a pop song for the benefit of the non-classical world.

@@musicasmr4174 Man, Dimash sings a song (which has a specific content and drama), not a paean for an artist who passed away a few years earlier, who sang the song (pop version) almost twenty years ago and hasn't sung at all with A'Studio for almost twenty years (because he had a solo career and was even in conflict with A'Studio for a long time). Dimash sings a song about lost love, and every part of it makes up a song (including ethnically stylized lament for lost love), and not suddenly in this song he sings about something else (about a long deceased singer). What a crap!
It is as if you were saying that Dimash in "Love Is Like A Dream" (in the Ave Maria passage which generally serves to elevate that love, and Dimash uses the European cultural key here) was praising Mary, the mother of Jesus. It would be the same nonsense.

dimash is one of a select few vocalists that have an incredible ability to translate emotion (& therefore, meaning) to whatever song they're singing, regardless of the native tongue of the listener.
i'll never in a million years forget the first time i heard "SOS"; absolutely zero idea what anything meant but my god, the weight of the words hit me right in the gut & i cried endlessly, feeling every word i still didn't understand but did at the very same time.
of course, enjoying the same song with good subtitles was also incredibly enjoyable & brought a new level of appreciation for the song...but the feelings remained for me, regardless. ♥️

Hallo Aylin, schön dich wiederzusehen mit einer Reaktion zu Dimash. Ich kann verstehen, dass du dich etwas geärgert hast, keine Übersetzung des Songtextes gehabt zu haben. Auch wenn Dimash alleine durch seine Stimme Gefühle auf eine unglaubliche Weise transportieren kann, möchte ich auch immer gerne wissen, worum es in dem Lied geht. Denn gerade bei Dimash sind es oft sehr tiefgehende schöne Texte, die einen berühren. Wenn möglich versuche ich auch Hintergrundinformationen zu einem Song zu recherchieren. Das gibt einem Song zusätzlich Emotionen, wenn man die Geschichte hinter dem Song kennt.
Das mit den Untertiteln passiert dir jetzt sicherlich nicht mehr 😊. Leider gibt es nicht zu all seinen Song englische Untertitel. Zu diesem hätte es ein Video gegeben, welches ich dir empfohlen hatte 🤷😉. Aber ich weiß natürlich auch, dass du viele Vorschläge bekommst und die nimmst, womit du die meisten glücklich machen kannst. Ich könnte dir einiges an Empfehlungen geben, aber ich lasse erstmal den anderen den Vortritt. Ich wünsche dir eine gute Zeit und schick dir ganz liebe Grüße.
