They may still be working to speed that up. The main thing is the accuracy. It's not that slow. I think Gpt - 4o may be adding in "urms" and "okay I'll just look that up" as a way to mask the delay while it returns information while Google's is just quiet therefore feels longer.
Two standard PhD graduates have solved this and made an on device model built on googles model that has under 1 sec in latency. Thats how fast AI is moving. Problems are getting solved in days. Not months.

integration with core mobile os is google's specialty vs openai. on top of that, it seems Openai doesn't have its licensing house in order (youtube video training?) vs google which would be a dealbreaker for the likes of apple. hence, we'll see whether this rumor is true
@@z5m2 True, I do agree that training via RUclips data is invaluable for Google but it won’t stop their competitors from building alternatives. Now that they realize that they can strike early & get ahead of them on the next era of technology driven services/products. Apple & Microsoft both have the saturation with their products in the market. Individually, I don’t think that they could build a competitor to search or RUclips. But if they’re getting serious about trying to overtake these two products then it would be smart to utilize the market leader, OpenAI. Then there’s the whole optics pov on these companies, Alphabet has a much much more reputation & perception from the public than Apple or Microsoft, mainly because of their core business model but we’ll see.
Yeah, cry about it, lol. You people don't even take an effort to go through the news, cuz someone else on the YT just feeds you the opinion. You must be really early on in your career. Im an AI Architect, this will certainly revolutionize the way end users interact with search and the world. If you can’t see that having an AI assistant that is able to analyze and track real world data as a big thing, then you maybe in the wrong field.

I'd be careful with googles demos, they don’t have the reputation of always showing accurate demos
Basically 90% of tech any demo
I just love coming to youtube to find the raw footage of something but instead finding the news's review of the raw footage.
This stuff now being made available to the public is probably a decade or more behind what they develop for government agencies or the military.
Geoguesser aren't happy with this one
Imagine it tellsling you who lives at a particular home, their phone number and any other public searchable info
That delay though. It wouldn’t have been a big deal until yesterday.
I thought the same. The fact that CNBC did not even mention Veo shows how bad the IO event was.
