Not at all. There are always great movies being made, you just may not know where to look. You also may be biased, or have predisposition to despise all new things.
@@JDdr86 I don't really think they mean it so literally. Perhaps they prefer old movies. Newer ones tend to have a distinct style of techniques and expectations for scenes that are far different from older films.
Here's the thing, "She" was originally shot in black and white and later colorized in the 1980s, so I wonder if they intentionally chose purple for the character's dress as a homage to The Evil Queen.
Ofc i had to start greeking out ( greek? get it hehe ) cause now the Evil Queen reminds me of Hera! The peacock throne, jealous of other women's beauty etc
I Just Watched She 1935 Film today and Damn I can Definitely understand Why She (Who Must Be Obyed) would Be The Thing That Inspired Grimhilde Ingrid/The Evil Queen.
The movie is called SHE and it’s about two people who discover a city ruled by an evil queen who discovered the secret of immortality. And interestingly spoilers. The queen dies by stepping into the flame of immortality again in an attempt to prove to the that it’s safe that she can join him and marry him. But the second time causes her to rapidly die much like her potion.
How did they do those light effects with the wind? If I was her I would start twirling around like sailor Moon while the effects are doing their thing lol

One of the Evil Queen's costume inspiration was Uta von Ballenstedt, the Margravine of Meissen. Early Medieval women used to wear that hood to protect their hair from dirt aside for religious reasons.
Yes. This is very much confirmed to be one of the many inspirations for evil queen. Also yes, it is Speculated that Joan Crawford, Marlene Dietrich, and Greta Garbo were also Inspirations for evil queen

They don’t make Disney movies like this anymore. That is a shame.
Those are some fine effects considering it's and old movie
“My empire is of the imagination”. That’s a very chilling quote. Films had such great writing back in the day
The so called "dated" movies, are actually the best ones ever

You seem a little offended by a stranger’s harmless opinion. Would you like me to report him to HR and the Far Left Police? 😂😂😂
@@kaorikarmaI'm pretty sure they were referencing Rachel Ziegler's trash talking of the original Snow White animated film and how off base she was.

Purple was a color of royalty back then too, since it was a color very difficult to get on fabric I believe. Very fascinating
Amazingly talented artists to copy that womans expressions to such a tee.
I never realized she was sitting on a peacock thrown 😯💕

It’s supposed to represent pride, and Hera’s anger/jealousy at Zeus’s other partners

Wow, She, the movie shown here, came out in 1935. Disneys Snow White came out in 1937. Ole Walt Definitely ripped it off.
Taking Inspiration and ripping off are two very different things
Uta von Ballenstedt was an inspiration to the Evil Queen.
And all this time, I thought she was modeled off of Joan Crawford.
Evil Queen in Snow White and the seven dwarfs: SILENCE!!..*fast up*
Evil Queen in She:*slowly up* ................ Back off!!
It won't fly these days. Disney brothers would be eating lawsuits for breakfast the morning after.
Ignore the magic mirror Queen, I’ve got much better alternatives in my video to help you succeed 😂

Snow White is set in a time period when married Christian women veiled.
The Evil Queen is not a muslim 😂 .
In older times, women that were under vow sometimes wore head and shoulder coverings that showed only their faces.
