1. Bigbang is the first group to start writing and producing their own music. G-Dragon is the first idol to do it. After that agencies started giving their idols chance to do it.
2. Bigbang is the first one to have official lightstick. G-Dragon designed it. Since then all fandoms followed it and now every fandom has their own lightstick.
3. T.O.P is the first underground rapper turned idol in kpop.
4. Bigbang is the first boy group to dye their hair bright unusual colors like pink, blue, neon green, orange. G-Dragon made it trend, starting from blonde there is no color he hasn't tried.
5. Bigbang is the first group that members have solo careers without disbanding. Before bigbang, groups always disbanded or the member just left if one of them wants to pursuit their own career. But Bigbang showed them you can have solo career while still being in the group.

Absolutely. BIGBANG have been major influences on KPOP today. Many current KPOP artists came into KPOP because they were inspired by BIGBANG. There isn’t another group like these kings.

I truly think the reason why BIGBANG are the KINGS OF KPOP is because of the fact that they broke the norms. They made so many firsts in the industry and even though other groups have flourished today, those who have amazing mv views and numerous fans, they just broke records but they weren’t the original ones. BIGBANG was the first of its kind. They had no advertisements whatsoever and as the CEO of Antenna, You Hee-yeol, said they are the group that can be said as a natural. Not manufactured. Natural. Their title is even acknowledged by Korean and news stations, even CNN. There are fitting titles for each one and you could have your personal opinion about it but you could never erase the fact that BIGBANG are the KINGS OF KPOP.
Disclaimer: No hate on other groups. Kpop should be peaceful not toxic.
I think other groups nowadays made it big more easier than groups before is because with the fact that social media is so hype in this era. Social media took a big part of how they are well promoted but the fact that BIGBANG made it big and very well know without the crazy hype of media makes it more awesome. They were able to create names on their own more likely because of the word of mouth.
If someone said BIGBANG are KING OF KPOP majority agree it's because of what they did to kpop you can't get that title by just being popular and breaking some records. Maybe everyone well said that their group are king of kpop well it's just to their fandom. And we have GDRAGON here the true King of kpop recognized by Korea, by the world.
Yup. In Infinite Challenge, Yoo Hee-yeol also said they had the creative control, and Yoon Jongshin said they're the omnipotent figures in Kpop. As we know, those are the well-respected senior artists/singers.

Deep voice guy = T.O.P. You gotta check out his solo "Doom Dada". He has like 5 different flows in that 1 song. "Zutter" by GD and TOP is also good.
During Big Bang's generation (2nd gen), they shared the pedestal with the likes of Super Junior, TVXQ (all still active) and SHINee, Girls Generation (also known as the Nation's Girl Group, original best selling korean girl group before Twice took the crown)(both on hiatus). There are also disbanded groups like Wonder Girls and 2NE1 (2NE1 is considered Queens of 2nd gen, the girl group equivalent of Big Bang, they are from the same company). ALSO FUN FACT G-DRAGON INVENTED THE LIGHTSTICK.

Honestly everyone's inspired by bigbang as their part of the most legendary original times in kpop
They really mixed their own sound with kpop and didnt try to make it to clean or to popish. I miss their style of music so much. We still had it somewhat in other YG boygroups, but bigbang will always be unique
No, it's no all kpop groups sound like this. Even in their 2nd gen. Only BIGBANG is☺️. That's the reason. They debuted back in 2006 and did hiphop popular in Korea. Their early works are so about hiphop, especially LALALA (debute song). Then they became the first who began to write and produce their own music. Now it's pretty spread among kpop artist to do things like that but when they debuted as idol group no one did. BIGBANG has two rappers: GDragon (leader, who write lyrics and participate in producing the most) and TOP (the guy with deep voice. Check his solo Doom Dada , please) Almost all rap parts in BIGBANG songs are written by T.O.P. Vocal line: Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri. (All their vocalists have unique sound and good techinique). All members have successful solo career. The only member who haven't got an album (and we want it, cause it will be lit!) is main rapper - T.O.P. Fans are really looking forward to his album (he has only several solo singals).
Now BIGBANG have only four members.
But there is no any new pieces from them as four. Last song "Flower road" was released more than two years ago before their military service. Seungri left because of some controversies and problems with law year ago. (Mostly all are cleared and he isn't a part of what people thought he is, but not all allegations are cleared yet). Fans have very different attitude towards this fact. I'm saying this just because there are a lot of opinions so I hope you will be accurate with words about it cause there are fans who support him and want to see them as five (they have a history as five for 13 years, why can't they?) and others who believe he did wrong. It is really complicated if you want you can do a research, if not - no. It's up to u. The only thing I want to add if u will do research remember: BIGBANG are always hot issue in SK, even now.Every single thing they do, say, post on IG (even captions to posts!) turn out to be an article with loud title. So look at articles that are based on official statements not journalists opinions.

It's a title not just given by fans, the music industry also knows it so well.
The comment section has probably flooded you the reasons. This group's seriously influenced the 2nd and third-generation from the get-go. And not just that. They've started changes in Kpop and started so many trends which the Kpop/idol industry has completely adapted. They are like the rebels among idols. They are the idols of idols. They don't go along with the flow, they create their own.
You mentioned that they are different. That's true. A lot of idols nowadays are doing the same format as the old days. That's why I love these guys so much. They don't need to dance like crazy anymore. All they need is their voice and stage presence.

I would say their colour and sound is very distinguished and ultimately their own since they've been in control of their music since the very beginning. If you look up their albums and look at the track listings you can see everything is almost written and produced by them + the songs be banging, like its so rare to see artists being so talented like that.

Yoo I'm so happy lol. Yess the legends. They've been my ult stan since 2010. Ive been to 2 US concerts and their energy is no joke. I truly believe Big Bang created that "kpop sound" people recognize today. Big Bang is second generation. Every member has their own solo careers as well as unit groups like GDxTOP and GDxTaeyang. Everything is fire.

Bigbang, 2 gen group (debuted in 2006), made their own sound and it kinda formed gen 3 and 4's sound. They were the first idol group to include rappers, and the first idol group to write, compose and produce their own music.

Are you able to pick out some of the BigBang members in Psy's Gangnum Style mv? BigBang are second gen and they are unique, one of a kind. Hence, the words Kings, Legends, Idols Idols, etc. The woman dancing with GD in Bang x3 is world renowned dancer and choreographer, Parris Goebel. I've been knowing kpop since 2009, witnessing many groups come and go. My feelings toward Big Bang still same, they are the TRUE KING for me. They are ahead of their time in kpop. Their music. Their styles. They set the trend.
