    Hope my demonstration is acceptable for your viewing pleasure :)
    Some Iai practitioners may find my kata No.10 different because we receive information from Japan officials there are some changes to the syllabus, however please consult your school's sensei and affiliation to be sure - it may be different to different branches.
    thanks!

      @@Yagi.B thanks for enquiring. before the change we are to make a short half step to stab the opponent at the back. But the new change is we don't step at all and stab the opponent straight after we hit the opponent hand (forgot what that technique is called)

    Hello ! I stumbled across this, figured I'd watch for old time's sake, and I haven't put a video out in forever! So wanted to say Hi through the medium we used to communicate, to be positive I met a woman, and one who stufies budo! And training got more intense, so no videos for me....but what about you? I haven't seen much, and I hope you're ok and doing well in life! You were rocking a shinken in some of the last videos I saw of yours, and it made so many Sword Friends smile;)

    I watch this before every practice to renew what I forgot since the last time. :-) God knows after a month of iaido my head was already confused enough, knowing how to do 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th kata (though having years of improvement ahead of me). :-) But I still love it, so more's to come. :-)
    One tip: I feel for a beginner such as myself there's never enough emphasis on what is the feet position for which moves. Even you, here, at the Ushiro, state it's the same as Mae, except backwards. But every beginner would argue it's nothing like Mae if the leg movement is the exact opposite as during Mae. :-)

    • @namazuryusshugyo5214
      @namazuryusshugyo5214  2 года назад +1

      There is a tiny bit of difference with your Ushiro leg when you turn. The end position of the leg should show a slight opening on the right foot, according to some schools
      But when going back to the cut it should be straight like Mae 🤔 atleast that's how I was taught.

    • @namazuryusshugyo5214
      @namazuryusshugyo5214  2 года назад +1

      Haha I'm glad my video makes for a good reference. I'm honored 🙏 I should make a new one this is already a year old. I think I should have improved a little since then 😬

    • @MikeGill87
      @MikeGill87 2 года назад

      @@namazuryusshugyo5214 Hey. Thanks but not what I meant. The thing I'm most struggling with as a Iaido beginner always is: "Which leg should be in the front at this specific moment?" And that's where Mae and Ushiro differ the most - you do the cuts in Mae with the right leg forward while with the left one in Ushiro.

    In Yonhonme tsuka ate while attackin the back blow do ur feet need to be turned or only left leg(back leg wud turn slightly) ?

    • @namazuryusshugyo5214
      @namazuryusshugyo5214  3 года назад +2

      yes, we were taught to turn only the back leg to an L shape when stabbing behind, and turn back to the front when cut the front
