Huge issue with this project is the fact California Forever is expecting tax dollars to fund much of the infrastructure projects for this development. This will lead to higher taxes for Californians, theres no way around that. They say they will pay "their fair share", I bet that isn't even half the total cost, let alone anything close to the lifetime cost to maintain this new infrastucture. All of that maintainance will be a huge expense and eventually require replacing. All to be paid for with Californians (and by extension Solano County residents) tax dollars, diverting funds from other local projects and existing comunities. IF they were to pay for MOST of the infrastucture improvments and MAINTAINANCE COSTS for a period of years it would be a welcome project, but they are not as thats not as profitable. Jan and California Forever are effectively asking us to subsadize their city of million dollar homes none of us can afford , all while making them huge profits at our expense.

How is California Forever acting in good faith and acceptable morals when it tries and is trying to sue people and family’s for NOT wanting to sell their land and keep it for future generations?
What I’m not hearing in this biased and dishonest report is the California Forever group is bring lawsuits to the farmers who simply don’t want to sell.
Of course the greedy state allows this under the false application of business fixing prices. But these are farmers selling food, the farmers are not fixing prices on food. So how does this apply.
This evil vile group is saying the farmers are fixing the selling price. How when the farmers don’t want to sell. So the state government wants and is allowing the law suits to be heard and willing to entertain such thievery.
This will set a president, leave your family your property and the elites will accuse you of fixing price and rob you children of your home/property/assets.
This is the elites taking over and abusing the laws. This also shows the California state govt being greedy and want some of the taxes.

How many people in that audience live in Solano County !?!?! Solano already has half a million people! Now you want to build homes for more commuters, that start at close to amillion dollars!
No jobs to go with the people!
So just adding to the congestion and commuters already on the road.
Now Solano is expected to foot the bill for more roads that already can’t handle the traffic it has!!
California is about to cut 75% water usage .
Where is the water going to come from?
An already strained water utility! The Delta? Yeah, that water cut is about saving the planet. You build a a desalination plant out there… I’m sure we will foot the bill for that as well. Never mind the damage it will do to the Delta.
Go buy up the dirt between here and the Train to No Where that wasted how much money and they we alllll still pay for. 🤦🏽‍♀️
You want to fix what’s wrong with California! MAKE IT AFFORDABLE TO LIVE HERE!!

    • @erictaylor3897
      @erictaylor3897 5 месяцев назад

You should try visiting Asia. Half a million people is just a small village compared to an Asian city. Build more transit such as rail, young people are not driving as much as they use to. Make transit workable and safe. Water could be drilled or build a desalination plant. Every young person deserves an affordable home. Or would you rather have the majority of our young people move to Panama, Mexico, and Thailand? People are frustrated, we need drastic projects like this to make the Bay Area workable for everyone. Supply and demand, if you understand that basic part of economics.

@@erictaylor3897 🤣 Or California could make it Affordable to live in the cities they already have. You know, not screw up someone else’s county and build more.. Destroy the Delta… Desalinate more ocean…
The bulk of California’s water goes to Los Angeles!
Do some homework on where they get their water!
They just cram more people into THE SAME SPACE. How is that HELPFUL?
Million Dollar homes is NOT AFFORDABLE!
How about we not screw up what little agricultural land we have and create more water issues in a county that already has water issues! Asian is a prime example of over population! CRAMMING TOO MANY PEOPLE INTO TOO SMALL OF A SPACE!
People are not going to stop having kids. 🤦🏽‍♀️
Turn all the empty houses and building into affordable housing!
California could have been building more water storage all this time… instead of a useless train to no where…
California could have been building Desalinization plants all this time too.
California could have been making it more affordable to live for a long time.
Now , a bunch of idiots want to cram more people in an already burdened county … into UNAFFORDABLE HOUSING !
WITHOUT THE INCOME TO SUPPORT IT!
Bringing in another 400,000 people BUT NOT 400,000 jobs!!
      BASIC economics!
You’re right! We will be like Asia.. too many people for too small of a space. Not enough jobs to support what we have… 🤦🏽‍♀️

    This is hard to watch.
    LIES
As a Vacaville native, the thing people who live here have hated the most over the years is the increase in population, traffic, air pollution, and an oversaturation of resources(water, electricity, medical, recreational, residential etc,)
We have also suffered a huge influx of corporate investors who have bought up a lot of homes where families could not compete, and who in large part caused this housing crisis we are in. The middle class is being left in the dust while the corporations and wealthy come and buy up everything around us. Then they want to rent it back to us and expect us to be happy about it.
We don't want a giant city in our backyard to inflate a lot of the current issues we have.
Most importantly, this puts us in danger of a much more serious water and power crisis.
We get shut down by PGE when the grid is overworked every year. We are limited on our water usage and charged increasingly high prices.
No. This is not wanted by the majority of the individuals who live here. Those approving of this are largely those who have a financial stake and will profit gloriously. Sell outs. When they make it rich and then move away we will know.
As far as our kids staying bc a place like this exists, what a load of crap. This place is going to be a craphole. Look at SF.

California Forever, home to two investors (Marc Andreessen and Reid Hoffman, among others) who sit on federally-appointed board related to national security (Defense Innovation Advisory Board and Homeland Security Advisory Council) yet stayed quiet for years as the public in Solano County and local governments were trying to figure out who was buying land around one of the West Coast’s most important Air Force bases. Suing family farmers for $510 million in what they claim are antitrust violations. Paving over high value vernal pool habitats full of endangered and endemic species, of which 90% of these habitats no longer exist in California. Paving over grasslands for migratory waterfowl to feed on in areas where roads are literally called Goosehaven Road and Little Honker Bay Road because there is that much waterfowl. Paving over important dryland farms which use no irrigation and rangelands that protect the integrity of Solano County’s water supply, while the state of California is proposing to cut Lake Berryessa’s water supply (the major source of water for Solano County) by 75%. Proposing to build a city of 400,000 people in a county of 450,000 with no plan for water available for public review. Proposing to build a city of 400,000 on a two-lane highway with enormous traffic issues already with no promises of contributions by the investors. Just the replacement of the Rio Vista bridge was estimated at $1.2 billion dollars in 2007. That is one of three two-lane bridges from Highway 12 to I-5 and one of three two-lane bridges from Highway 12 to Highway 4. Promising to build “affordable” housing that the CEO said would be $1 million instead of the $3-4 million homes in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. All in a county where the housing supply built outpaces the state of California. Promises of jobs brought to the new community but no sign-ons by prospective employers who have committed to moving their business there. And then there’s trust. Repeated gaslighting of the voting population of Solano County by California Forever’s CEO and repeated marginalization of the opposition. A poll conducted by FM3 with an appropriate sample size for the voting population and with extremely fair questions showed 70% of the voting population would vote no on the California Forever project if the vote was today. Dodged by the CEO for the mere fact that it was funded by Greenbelt Alliance. As a 23 year-old who loves Solano County and wants to make it a better community for its people, this project would be the biggest mistake the county could make.

A lot of Taiwanese people will live there. Houses in Vallejo will go up!

That's great more Taiwanese people, I have wonderful Taiwanese neighbors. If you understand supply and demand than you know building more housing would keep prices down, not go up in Vallejo. Less housing causes people to bid at a higher price for a property, since 30 or more people are anxious to buy that one house. You'll get priced out if you're a police officer, firefighter, teacher, or veteran... Competing with someone with a 300k a year salary in tech. You build more houses than you end the bidding, tech professionals would gravitate towards newer luxurious builds. This would prevent a 40 year old 2 bedroom home from ever reaching a million dollar asking price. Texas is affordable because they're not afraid to build.

This guy knows how to talk BS. Leave the county alone. Always the same, rich city slickers thinking rural america is their playground. Rural America wants to be left alone. There is a big problem arising and it's not housing; it's the lack of respect people like this guy has against people who just wants others to respect their personal space and leave them alone. Even towns and villages have a sense of personal space, that is needed. This guys wants to fill up every square inch of space so he can fill his own bank account

This will be a walkable city in the middle of what will have to be a walkable county - the congestion will be so surreal; NO ONE will be able to move. I don't believe for a millisecond that Jan and his friends considered their move as a boon to Solano County. It is a boon to the developers, period. And all because this guy claims to have gone fishing on the Sacramento River? I'd say his fishing days better be a good memory because the Delta can't be squeezed much more than it is now and still have live fish - or any other living thing.
This will destroy Rio Vista, cause Travis AFB to shut down, use non-existent water, create awful road congestion and ruin Solano's well thought out Growth Ordinance that limited new residential development to urban areas, not agricultural land. You can experience a preview right now by taking a drive through San Jose, Mountain View, Palo Alto and surrounds. Better start early because the congestion is terrible!

Ah yes bases in large cities in San Diego, Honolulu, and Tacoma had shut down due to a large population and traffic. Had you ever sat in Oahu traffic? Water desalination plant, plenty of water in the ocean to convert to fresh water. Traffic could be solved if you ever visited a city in Asia with 10 million plus people. They usually get around in these bizarre things called trains. America needs growth in order to remain a superpower, if you're against growth than you're not patriotic. America cannot allow the the rest of the world to leap ahead of us. You have white hairs, sell your home and move to a quiet retirement community. Allow young people to live the American dream via homeownership and allow this great country to expand.
